Prologue: Change of Plans

No one's POV

It was a nice morning in Kyoto. Everyone was doing their normal morning routines as the sun rises. Surely nothing possibly could go wrong at all...

A man was walking down a crowed sidewalk as everyone was heading to work. He had short, spiky white and navy blue eyes. He had a bit of tan skin with some white stubble on his chin. He wore a black leather jacket over a white t-shirt. He had ocean blue pants with black shoes. He was currently arguing with someone on his phone as he walks.

"No, Luna, I told you that wasn't the right address." He says angrily. He pauses as the person on the other end says something. "What do you mean 'what do I mean'?! It lead me to some old hag's place! It wasn't the meeting spot you said it was at! I-!"

He stops when the person on the other end of the call began shouting back at him. He could feel his right eyebrow twitch irrationally as the person continues. "Well maybe next time-!"

A loud commotion was heard up ahead. The man could hear several people yelling about something as he saw many of them were suddenly pushed to the side as others stepped to the side to avoid something.

"What...?" He mumbles as he ignores the person on the other end, who was still yelling at him.

He didn't have time to react to the commotion as something small runs in in between his legs. He nearly fell from shock, almost dropping his phone. But he managed to catch himself before falling and saves his phone.

"-The fuck?!" He shouts as he looks back to the thing, even more annoyed. "Hey-!"

He stops yelling as he saw what almost tripped him was a small fox. His eyes widen in confusion as he saw it continue to run in the center of the crowded sidewalk before turning to an alleyway.

"A...fox...?" He mutters in confusion. "Why is-?"

A strange yet oddly familiar aroma fills his nose. He sniffs the air and smelled an odd scent coming from the fox. It smelled very similar to someone he once knew but couldn't remember who it was or why.

'What was that? Why did it smell familiar?' He thought.

His thoughts were interrupted as he was pushed to the side again multiple times, making him drop his phone. A group of men in trench coats run pass by him as they ran in the direction the fox went.

"H-hey!" The man shouts to the group.

Seeing them not bothering to apologize made him growl in annoyance. He forces himself to ignore them and grabs his phone off the ground. He picked up another strange scent in his nose, this time coming from the men as they left.

'Fallen Angels?' The man thought as he froze in realization.

He turns his head to the direction the men went as he got up. He puts his phone to his ear as he saw the men turn to the same alleyway. He heard the person saying something on his phone but interrupts them while not taking his eyes off of the alleyway.

"Hey, I'll need to call you back." He pauses as he heard them ask why. "I just picked up the scent of a group of Fallen Angels. From what you've told me, they shouldn't be here, correct? I don't think it's a coincidence they're here along with me. I think I should check it out."

The person asks why again. Making the man annoyed more.

"They were chasing after a small fox. I'm no expert on Fallen Angels or anything, but I don't think they collect animals for zoos. It must be important to them for whatever reason. Besides..." He trails off, remembering the little fox. "The fox's scent...it...reminds me of someone...someone I don't remember oddly."

He pauses for a moment as the person talks again.

"Thanks, my Queen. I'll either call back or meet you at the place when I'm done with all of this. And make sure this time you text me the correct address, alright?"

The person says something to him before hanging up. He puts his phone away and runs to the corner the men went to. He looks around cautiously to find an empty alleyway. He runs into the alleyway as he carefully listens for anything unusual.

It's been nearly ten minutes as the man still tried to find those Fallen Angels and possibly that fox. Though he eventually stops as he ran into a four way intersection. He looks around and saw all of them looking the same.

"Tch." He balls his hands into fists. "Where the hell did they go?" He mutters.

He looks up the buildings around him and saw several balconies above him. Thinking quickly, he bends his knees and leaps several feet above the ground, five times higher than the average human. He grabs onto some bars from the closest balcony before leaping to the next balcony above him. He continues to leap and grab until be was at the top of the building. He scans the area around him and saw one of the alleyways leading to a small clearing in between a couple of buildings to his left. He ran as fast as he could until he was at the edge of one of the roofs. He got on one knee as he saw some commotion on the ground below.

From where he was, he saw a little blonde girl in red and white robes being held by one of the Fallen Angels from behind as the others were surrounding her.

She was kicking and screaming like a mad woman as she had her eyes shut. "Let me go!" The girl screams as loud as she could in hope someone would hear her cries for help.

"Shut it, brat!" One of the Fallen Angels orders. "Stop being a pain in the ass!"

The little girl continues to struggle. Thinking quickly, the girl bit the man who was holding her by the hand, causing him to yelp in pain as he pulls his hand back.

"You little bitch!"

Taking this opportunity, the girl makes a run for it. But before the she could get far, one of the Fallen Angels grabs the girl by the shoulder, turns her around, and slaps her with the back of his hand to her face, causing her to fall onto the dirty floor. The Fallen Angel slapped the little girl so hard that the man watching from above could hear the smack from where he was.

"..." He glares silently as he continues watching from above, squeezing his fists as hard as he could. 'Is this girl the fox? What do they want with her? And why?'

Shaking his questions out of his head, he forced himself to think of something. Having seen enough, he lowers his head so his hair covers his eyes as he got up from where he was kneeling. Blue lightning coats over his hands as his white hair slowly spikes up. He took no time waiting around as he leaps into the air with his right hand reeled back behind him.

As the Fallen Angels were too distracted by the litter girl, none of them were expecting a loud crash and thunderous explosion behind them. They all stop what they were doing to turn to the sound, including the little girl, as they saw dust rise into the air and lightning spark everywhere.

The silhouette of the man slowly rises from the dust as they all heard him speak coldly: "I am only going saying this once; Let. The girl. Go."

Some of the Fallen Angels step back in shock as the others stayed where they were with confused looks. The little girl doesn't say anything as she looks at the man in curiosity.

"Who the hell are you?!" One of the Fallen Angels shouts angrily.

"The name's y/n." The man within the dust replies. The dust soon clears along with the lightning. But what was even more shocking to everyone was the fact that lightning was covering y/n's entire body except for his face. Y/n looks up at them with rage in his eyes as lightning was covering them. "And I'm the one who'll beat your ass if you don't do as I said."

"Why would we listen to you?!" A different Fallen Angel shouts. "You're just some human with lightning! Do you have any idea what we are?!"

"Yeah...I may be human, but..." Y/n continues with an ominous tone. "You're all just a bunch of low-level Fallen Angels." Y/n takes a step forward. When his foot touches the ground, it cracks underneath his shoe as lightning sparks wildly. "Someone like me should be able to handle you fucks easily."

An ominous pitch black and crimson red aura surrounds y/n. The Fallen Angels felt a dark felling creep up their backs as the little girl felt relaxed for some odd reason. One of the Angels were about to say something until an image flashes as a demonic howl echos in his mind.

It was some sort of creature. He couldn't tell what it was as it appeared for not even a second, but he knew deep down something wasn't right with y/n. A cold sweat drops from his forehead as he tries to think. But he quickly snaps out of it as he pulls out a gun and aims it at y/n. "Don't move any closer, bitch! I'll kill you without mercy!"

"..." Y/n continues to step forward, unfazed by the threat.

After taking a couple of steps, the rest of the Fallen Angels pull out their guns and aim them at him too. But one of them had an idea and puts his gun to the side of the girl's head, pressing it to her skull. The little girl freezes in fear as she felt the barrel touching her.

"Don't move one more step, bastard!" The Angel with his gun aimed at the girl shouts as he pulls her to his chest. "I'll do it!"

"H-help me!" The girl yells in fear.

Y/n stops moving. He stares at the girl for a moment. He sees how scared she is and imagines how terrified the girl must feel with a gun pointing at her head. But an idea came to him. He puts on a reassuring smile as he spoke confidently.

"Don't worry, little girl. Help has arrived..." The lightning starts to spark around him more as he puts his hands up in a fighting position. "Because I am here."

To be continued...
