Chapter 6

Able once again found himself being dragged around by the noisy red head. This time to an open field a little ways away from the small town. The grass around him were green and about ankle width, slightly damp from the rain earlier in the day. The fresh, cool air ran through his long, black hair, allowing it to sway in the wind. The valley area was a pretty sight to behold, he had to admit, but he still didn't understand why they were there. Surely it wasn't for sight seeing.

Well, on one hand, he was right, it wasn't for sight seeing. On the other hand, it was some idiotic thing that Amber called 'yoga' that she forced him to attend. There were others, most of them were women, all were wearing loose and comfortable clothing laying on these mats, making Able realize that this would likely end with this being a waste of time. Leading the activity of the day was the same guard from before, Megina. His eyes glanced at the woman with a moment, who tried to ignore him before he turned Amber.

"What is the meaning of this?" He demanded. Amber was just now laying down a mat for herself and began to sit down on it.

"We're doing yoga. Basically a bunch of stretches to calm the body, get in touch with your inner zen, you get the just of it."

Able crossed his arms

"I do not have time for leisure activities." He said, not looking pleased of being brought here for this

"Why? You got somewhere to be that you haven't informed me of?" Amber questioned, raising an eyebrow "Just give it a try, will ya. It's supposed to be calming, something that you, my friend, are in desperate need of"

"We are not friends." He stated, crossing his arms as he stood a distance away from the yoga group. Amber rolled her eyes before Megina started the secession.

"Alright, first we'll start off with some basic warm ups, just to loosen up the body a bit. Nothing too difficult just yet." Megina said in a calm voice.

Able watched as the group started doing stretches. He didn't even know why Amber had bothered bringing him here. He didn't see the purpose of such activities. Why would do these things to feel the need to become "calm" and " relaxed". A person should always be aware of there surroundings, alert to everything around you, lest you become prey to the enemy. Able noticed Megina motioning her fingers towards a particular purple flower, as if beckoning it. He tilted his head a bit, what was the woman planning to do with those. He had noticed that those flowers were basically growing everywhere around them when they first came here, but had brushed them off.

Then came a smell. A strong breeze of air blew past him, carrying with it a strong, yet pleasant smelling scent. As he continued to breathe it in, the more at ease he found himself. It was little changes, his shoulders slowly became less stiff, his eyes were as attentively wary. He felt his body soothing under the influence of the powerful scent. He looked the culprits to the smell, which were the purple flowers he had noted down before. He was dazed. What were those devil plants doing to him? Why do they even do this? What was Megina doing?

"BEEEHHHH"

Able looked down at his feet to identify the thing making those nosies, only to see a baby goat looking back up at him. He looked around, trying to see where they had come from, when he landed eyes on the yoga group doing the downward dog stretch with goats on some of their backs while others wondered around. No doubt another one of Megina's little tricks. Nonetheless, he let his hand softly pat the head of the goat, who let out a pleased "BEEEHH" before being shoved away by one of its brothers. Able looked on with a light chuckle. Livestock were truly his one weakness. It reminded him when he used to watch over them, when everything was simpler.

He felt his body slump against a lone tree as he stared into the sky, simply allowing his body to relax itself and give into his surroundings. He didn't know how to describe what he was feeling, he doubt he had ever felt like this before in his long life. For the first time in a very long time, he was relatively tranquil, undisturbed by thoughts of violence, allowing his mind to think, to wonder. That's when he felt his hand being lifted by something. He looked down to see a lamb nudging his hand with its muzzle, as if demanding to be pet. Able absent mindedly relented, running his hand through the lamb's curly wool. He just allowed his mind to slowly go back to a daydream. Back to the past, back to everything that he knew.

Back to everything he knew.. Back to him..... Back to the one who ruined everything

Able's eyes suddenly shot up, snapping himself out of the trance he was in. He looked around rapidly, he didn't know how long he was like that, but if he had to guess, it was most likely at least an hour or so. By now the flowers had stopped releasing their smells so strongly and were back to normal, as if it never happened. He looked down at the now sleeping lamb on his lap, softly patting its head before moving it so he could get up. He then glared at Megina. What had she done to him? Her and her demon plants. A growl rose from him as he went to confront them.

The yoga session had begun to end, and Amber herself was feeling very relieved. Her previously aching muscles had dulled down to something manageable, she felt refreshed, enough to be able to stand Able's aggressive behavior. Speaking of Able, she had been occasionally looking back at him, making sure that he didn't sneak and couldn't help but be impressed of how effective it was. Granted, he didn't partake in the actual exercises, but the results were still there.

"What was the point in bringing him if he was just going to sit around all day?" Megina asked as she began packing up her stuff. Amber just smiled.

"Think of it as an alternative way to cool his nerves a little. I can't always deal with a murder happy powerhouse 24/7 with his attitude. It's better than just letting him slaughter everything with a pulse. Might even make him a bit more tolerable, after all, isn't yoga supposed to be therapeutic if you do it right? Might help with that temper of his."

Megina then felt her phone buzz from her back pocket, she quickly popped it out and saw she had a text message from her task force commander. Her eyes slightly widening in surprise, there hadn't been anything scheduled for the next couple of days, so this was probably something more serious.

"I've got to go. Task Force duty calls." Megina said. Amber nodded in understanding as Megina turned to leave, leaving Amber, Able and a few others who were also packing up to leave. Right on time for Able to approach her, right as she turned around she was immediately bombarded with questions.

"What did that woman just do to me!?" Able said, demanding an answer. Amber let out a sigh as she realized that this was just going to evolve into another one of their daily arguments.

"Oh relax, She simply communicates with nature, and she just used the flowers as something to calm people down as we were doing yoga." Amber stated.

"No, that was beyond that! She had me under a trance" Amber rolled her eyes at Able's accusations.

"I'll take that as you not knowing how not to have a constant urge to rip everything apart. Don't worry, I'll tell her to make the flower's scent a bit less potent. Then again, your a$$ was in the thicket of those lavenders. You should watch where you sit. Now can we finish this in the car? I have things to do that are more important than arguing with all day." Amber said as she turned to leave. Surprisingly, Able didn't argue back. Perhaps the influence of the lavenders still had quite the effect on Able, as he didn't have much as much as the unadulterated fury that he usually had. It had temporarily been rendered into an small flame rather than the raging fire it was.

Once they were home, Amber just didn't talk to Able, not wanting to provoke another argument. Able, though, had already retired to his room, presumably to sleep off the lingering feel of the lavenders that he had now dubbed "Demon Flowers." It left Amber to do what she will in peace. By the time she had retired to her own room, she still hadn't seen him. That was probably for the best. At least it would be a day where she wouldn't have to deal with too much of Able's crap. Besides, she may had found something that could possibly help cool the mood of the insatiable Sumerian. Which would most likely be very useful in the future. Regardless, she went to bed, preparing herself for what tomorrow would bring.
