Chapter 4

By the time Amber had made it to her house, she was just tired, frustrated, and in need of sleep. Not only did she get an earful, but now she has a mass murderer living with her that hated her guts. She stepped out of her car and approached her house with Able following close behind. It was a first story house and although a bit on the smaller end, it still looked nice. She had a few potted plants on her porch and a wind chime She unlocked the door and nearly immediately after coming inside the house tossed off her own coat onto the coach before stretching out her arms

"Ahh! Home, Sweet Home!"

Able just glanced at her before looking around her home. It wasn't spacious but an upgrade from the constant white walls of the foundation. He allowed his eyes to wonder from the living room, to the kitchen, to the doors he assumed were closets. Upon further investigation, he found out where the bathroom was, then to Amber's bedroom, which was right next to the bathroom and then an extra bedroom. Soon, he had familiarize himself with everything in the house.

"I see you've made yourself right at home." Amber finally commented. "The guest bedroom is where you'll be sleeping from now on. There should be some spare clothes in there, if they're your size or not is an completely different issue."

Able ignored her again, instead he began going back to the front door.

"Hey, where are you going?" Amber asked, stepping towards Able. The man in questioned turned his head to face her

"Out." He answered, he was about to leave out the door when he felt a hand suddenly holding tight onto the back of his shirt. He could've easily just shoved Amber to the side and continue on what he was going to do but he decided to humor her a bit.

"Yeah, about that. You really think I'm just going to let you wonder around without anyone keeping an eye on you? Like hell that's happening. I seriously don't think the neighbors would enjoy a super powered murderer just wondering around." Amber said. Able spun around to face her.

"I don't need anyone's blessings, especially when it comes from an inferior warrior." He replied with a scowl. Amber crossed her arms.

"Is this what this is about? You believe that you shouldn't be bossed around by someone you deem not worthy of inferior?" Amber asked.

Able leaned down to look Amber dead in the face, when Amber tried to look away, he grabbed her by the cheek and forced her to look back at it.

"Make no mistake, Amber. I don't believe it so.." His grip becoming tighter, threatening to break bone

"I know it." He hissed softly.

With a forceful shove, Amber created space between her and the former SCP. She softly touched the area Able had grabbed and winced when the irradiated skin let a sharp yet dull pain wash over her face. She already knew that they would most likely bruise, but that was the least of her concerns.

"You really think I'm that lowly in comparison to you, then I'm sure you won't have a problem testing out that little theory of yours during training? I can guarantee anything you put me up to, I'd do it flawlessly. Maybe then you'd get over this little fit of yours." Amber disputed.

Able titled his head a bit, before a smirk came across his face

"Is that a challenge, Amber?" His deep voice questioned, daring Amber to say no. It still chilled Amber to the bone listening to Able saying her name, but she wasn't backing down, not now, not ever. Especially not to him.

"Yes, it's a challenge all right, and one I'm winning." Amber confirmed.

"I wouldn't get so cocky, Amber. It might just be your demise." Able morbidly teased and with that, he headed off to his new bedroom, slamming the door behind him.

Amber let out a sigh of relief, the tension around her lessening not having to further conversations with Able. As for tomorrow? She wasn't too worried. She was confident in her abilities, she refused to be intimidated by him. Either way, she needed to get ready for bed, it was getting late and she needed all the rest she could get. She went into the bathroom and took a quick shower before drying off and putting on a t-shirt and pajama pants on before heading in for the night.

The next day was as early as it usually was for Amber. At 5:00 am she woke up automatically, she'd didn't need a alarm clock to wake her up as her body has gotten used to waking up at around this time. She was just happy she didn't have to go back to working at the foundation as "one of the foundation's dedicated scientist." As far as the foundation was concerned, her and David have been on a well earned vacation for the last month and won't be back until next week or so.

She quickly went for the bathroom, though stopped when the blaring of the fire alarm suddenly went off, coupled with the smell of smoke that immediately hit her nostrils when she opened her door. She quickly followed the source of the smoke, coughing and waving the unwelcome gas from her face, finding herself in the kitchen. That's when she saw what had caused it. On the stove, she saw that on top of the stove, was covered in sticks, and leaves to form what was essentially a mini bonfire.

Then she looked up to see Able, eating a blue steak that just barely looked even slightly cooked even for a steak that rare. Not to mention he wasn't even eating it on a plate, he was just tearing into the meat with nothing but his teeth and his bare hands to hold it still. Blood was all over his face and raced down his jaw and neck, staining the shirt he was wearing. His teeth was covered in the red liquid and just helped made the already scary looking man look even more terrifying.

Amber didn't even know what the correct response to this was. She knew for a fact that she was more than a bit ticked off. She had been planning on cooking that up for dinner tonight and was actually looking forward to it. Did Able even really need to eat food? She didn't recall anything saying that he did or didn't but it still didn't make it any more forgivable.

Furthermore, she had just got done doing a deep clean of her entire kitchen a few days ago, so to see her counter covered in beef blood, well, it just didn't help matters. Able looked up from his food to see a very unhappy Amber glaring daggers at him.

"Well then, Good Morning to you two, a$$hole." She said as she began opening windows to get the smoke to ventilate out.

Able just let out a low growl at her, which Amber ignored, not wanting to deal with Able's bs right now.

"I assume you have no clue what you're doing." Amber stated, Able took another bite from his steak, which thoroughly disgusted Amber because Able didn't chew with his mouth closed, and the fact he literally rips into the flesh like a untamed beast didn't help matters.

After Able was done eating the chuck of meat, he replied.

"It is not my fault your electric fire does not work properly."

Amber sighed quietly, she should've expected this. How could she expect a biblical being that's been alive for god knows how long to understand modern technology, especially when they've been trapped in a cube and locked away from the outside world. Her urge to yell his ear off was gone. If she was going to be living with him from now on, she may as well just try to not get into arguments every couple of seconds every day. Besides, he's probably going to need to know this for the future so why not just tell him.

"Its not a electric fire, it's a stove, Able." Amber said, before showing him how stoves were actually supposed to work. Able, to her surprise, actually listened to what she had to say. Though Able looked uninterested as a whole, especially when he commented on how much more convenient a fire is. After this, Amber made herself a quick bowl of cereal and some toast, ate it with considerable speed, and then made her way to the shower.

"Oh, and Able?" Amber called out. The Sumerian looked at her.

"Make sure you clean up that blood by the time I'm out the shower, unless you want me to properly kick your ass this time ." She taunted, she slammed the bathroom door shut before Able could even give his response, infuriating Able and giving Amber a quiet chuckle.

Meanwhile at Site 25B

A Black Petunia agent lets out a scream as another one of his fingers are broken. The SCP agent looked at him with a glare.

"TELL US WHO YOU WERE WITH! WHO DO YOU WORK FOR? WHY ARE YOU TAKING SCPS?" The SCP agent demanded. The BP agent just shook his head before spitting at the agent's face.

"I'll never tell you scum anything."

Screams echoed the interrogation room and continued to do so for hours. As Detective Lorenzo watched from the safety of a glass separator that divided the actual interrogation room and a room where one could watch, an SCP entered the room.

"Is this truly necessary? This is going to kill him." The SCP asked, his mechanical hands leaning on a wall. Detective Lorenzo looked at him.

"We won't go that far, Cain. He hasn't talked, and I had direct orders from the Site Director himself not to cease until he gives up any worthwhile information."

Cain stroked his chin

"Let me try to talk to him. The man is probably broken down enough to where I could probably convince him to tell us everything we need to know." He suggested.

Detective Lorenzo thought about it for a moment, before giving Cain a nod of approval.

"Agent Jackson, you can stop, SCP 073 will take it from here." Detective Lorenzo said

Agent Jackson stopped himself from punching The BP Agent's face again and promptly got off the Agent and left, leaving the man tied down to a chair on the floor, bleeding, bruised beyond recognition, left with several missing teeth and bones broken. Cain then made his way into the room, gently lifting The BP Agent and the chair he was tied to back up. He then took his seat on the other side of the desk.

"Are you alright? Are you well enough to be able to speak to me?" He asked

"I can talk.. But I won't tell you sh!t, whatever you're going to do to me, I'm prepared for.." The BP croaked out. Cain shook his head

"I'm not going to hurt you." He then put a cup of coffee he was about to drink earlier to the Agent's mouth, who gladly accepted and took a small sip of.

"I simply want to talk to you." Cain said, his voice calm and soothing, not dripping with malice or ill intent

"What do you want to talk about?" The Agent asked

Cain let a small smile cross his lips. He didn't plan on getting his answers through brute force, rather, he'd want his answers through the willingness of the other person in question. It made things easier and more humane for his tastes and he found that people tend to open up more when they feel they're in a safe zone.

"Let's talk about you."
