Chapter Thirty Three
Chapter 33
Greg's POV
Mycroft threw on his shirt and did it up again before leading me outside, locking the front door behind us.
We went down to the car, and Mycroft held the passenger side door open for me. I got in and thanked him, and then he got in the drivers side.
"Well this is quite a surprise," Mycroft said as he started up the car and began driving to my house, which, thankfully, was quite a distance away, since I lived in the countryside.
"I know," I groaned, "It was meant to be a surprise, too. They came home just to see me so I wouldn't be spending Christmas alone."
"Everything will be fine, don't worry. You can still spend some time with me. I'm sure they'll allow it."
"Yeah, they will. They know I'm close with you. And since you're a tad older they'll be even happier since you're responsible. Plus, my mum loves you."
Mycroft turned to me as we pulled up at a red light. "She 'loves' me, does she?"
"Yeah, well, nowhere near as much as I do, though," I told him truthfully.
"I wouldn't know. You still haven't written me that love note yet," Mycroft laughed as the light turned green and he continued driving.
"I thought my actions would prove it."
"Darling Gregory," Mycroft laughed with his rich, beautiful tone. "I'd imagine prostitutes give oral each day. Do they love all their clients?"
After I pause I replied: "... Probably."
Mycroft laughed again. "Well just so you know, I'm glad I don't have to pay you."
"I'm glad I don't have to pay you, too. You'd be expensive."
"I shall take that as a compliment."
"I mean more for the fact that you wouldn't sleep with me without Egyptian Cotton sheets," I shrugged, trying to remain serious, but failing, "But other than that, yeah, you can take it as a compliment."
"I've never heard you complain about my sheets," Mycroft pouted.
"Oh, I have no issue with them. It's just so posh of you to have them."
"I like a little luxury," Mycroft said, a small smile playing at his lips.
"Oh, I know," I chuckled, placing my hand on Mycroft's thigh. The car swerved slightly, but he regained control and sighed. I laughed heartily. "Sorry."
I began moving my hand away, but Mycroft placed his on top of mine. "No, it's fine."
When we arrived at my humble abode, I asked My to come inside with me. Mycroft and I got out of the car and I led him inside.
My parents sat on the sofa watching telly, but they switched it off and turned to look at us.
"Greg!" My mum cried as she ran up to me and gave me a bear hug.
I heard my father greet Mycroft in the background before Mum pulled away and Dad shook my hand while Mum gave Mycroft a hug. "How was New Zealand?" I asked, knowing it must've been pretty good if they were to revisit so quickly.
"It was wonderful," Mum said, sitting down. Mum and Dad sat on one sofa, while Mycroft and I sat opposite.
I noticed Mum was smirking and Dad looked confused. I made nothing of it though as Dad continued for Mum. "There's lots of beautiful scenery over there, and lots of sheep too. The people are quite nice as well. You'd enjoy it over there, Greg."
I nodded, and felt My stiffen slightly beside me. My parents insisted he stay for dinner, and the two of them went through to cook it, while Mycroft and I stayed where we were.
"They know, Greg," Mycroft said beside me.
"Huh?"
"They know we're in a relationship."
I groaned. "Really?"
Mycroft nodded. "Your mother is happy about it and so is your father, but he'd be happier if I wasn't the assistant headmaster at your school."
"You picked up on all that just by looking at them?"
"Yes," Mycroft replied. "Oh, and the fact that your Mum whispered 'I'm so happy that my son is with you. Welcome to the family,' in my ear when she hugged me. That partially gave it away."
I chuckled. "Well in that case, I'm glad. Although we'll probably end up having to have a chat to my parents about this then."
Sure enough, after a lovely dinner and Pavlova afterwards (which Mum told us is a New Zealand creation) I had to go have a chat with my mum in my room while Mycroft stayed downstairs with my father.
I sat on the edge of my bed and Mum sat on my desk chair. My room was that of a teenage boys, obviously, with my rugby posters on the walls, trophies and medals on display, and my desk with the fish tank and colourful fish on it.
Mum took a deep breath before beginning. "So you and Mycroft Holmes, huh?" I held my breath, waiting for the next question which I was sure to hear, which of course came immediately after. "So... Have you two had sex yet?"
I groaned and fell back on my bed. "Mum!" I cried in embarrassment.
Mum laughed heartily. "You can talk to me about this sort of stuff, Greg. I'm hip, and chill about this sort of thing."
I chuckled. "Mum, you just said 'hip'. No one says that nowadays."
"Well I do, and I am trendsetting."
"How long have you known?" I asked cautiously.
"As soon as you came home from school on the weekend with a huge grin on your face."
"And you never approached me about it?"
"Nope. Figured you'd tell me yourself. But you didn't, did you?"
I shook my head. "I'm sorry, Mum, I didn't know how you'd feel about me being gay, let alone dating my assistant headmaster."
"Well, I know you two love each other," Mum said softly. "I can see it on your faces. You look at each other the way your father and I look at each other. And it's okay, because he is gorgeous, rich, and responsible. Really, he's perfect, isn't he?"
I laughed and blushed. "Yeah, he really is, and I love him so much."
"I know you do, kiddo. Come give your dear old Mum a hug," Mum said, holding her arms open to me.
I got up and gave her a big hug, inhaling her motherly scent. "I love you, Mum."
"I love you too, Greg. I'm very proud of you."
We pulled away and walked back downstairs, to see Mycroft and my dad deep in conversation. Mycroft looked up when we entered, a concerned expression on his face. "Is everything alright?"
"Everything's great," I replied, wrapping my arm around Mum's shoulders, pulling her in to my side.
"Why don't you boys stay here for the Christmas holidays, so we can get to know Mycroft better?" Mum asked me.
I looked at Mycroft and he nodded. "That'd be delightful," he said, without a trace of sarcasm, "I'll have to go back and get some clothes."
"Great!" Mum said, going over to Mycroft, giving him another hug.
"Welcome to the family, Mycroft," my father said, shaking his hand fondly.
"Thank you," Mycroft beamed at me, and I went and hugged him.
My life just kept getting better and better.
