One Direction must have denied the idea that they're breaking up more times than they went for a wee during 2015 (probably), and yet we're still waking up to rumours that they've "splitting for good" in 2016? WE LITERALLY GIVE UP.

The only thing more that 1D could have done to convince the world they're not permanently over would be to get it tattooed on their face - although we're pretty sure that even then pesky insiders would still be trying to convince us that the band decided to "not renew their recording contract".

Clearly ignoring the sheer amount of times that One Direction have PROMISED fans that they're just taking a break from their insane band schedule. We believe the phrase "kinda like a gap year" summed it all up quite nicely.

Yet sources over at Us Weekly reckon they know better than the boys themselves, and an insider apparently "close to the band" has claimed that "the band won't be back after their planned break".

Okay cool, tell us more about how you're ignoring the multiple occasions that the band confirmed they're not doing exactly what you're suggesting they're doing.

The reports state that Louis, Liam, Niall and Harry decided to "not renew their recording contract" and "have vowed to never reform", which makes it sound very dramatic and a bit like they were the Power Rangers or something.

"The 1D thing just ran its course," the insider spilled. "They'll remain friends, but they are exhausted and want solo careers. Liam is really interested in songwriting and production. Harry is laughing a career in acting and singing."

Yes thanks, we already knew all of that information, so can we STOP then making up the part about them absolutely, definitely, confirmed not getting back together? Because that's just stupid. Even if it takes forty years, we'll be here to stan 'em when they get back.
