Y/N POV

Following V did end up being a benefit to me. After tailing him for roughly twenty minutes, he lead me to a lone van parked amongst the city ruins. Emblazoned on the side in large blue neon letters was the name 'Devil May Cry' and it was here that I knew I'd reached the jackpot!

As I began my approach, I noticed V briefly stepping out of the van for a moment and it was now that I picked up speed. He looked up and at last, noticed me, he seemed shocked at first as his eyes widened however he soon regained his composure just as Nero ran out of the van as well.

I noticed V saying something along the lines of "He's here." I couldn't hear him however his lip movements definitely indicated he'd said the former. Not that it mattered, I descended rapidly before landing right in front of the pair.

My focus was purely on Nero as I grinned sadistically and in that same playful tone I'd used before "Well well, it seems we run into one another once again Nero." My tone suddenly became cold and cruel as I snapped "And I won't let you get away this time."

Nero just growled in anger however V spoke up, commenting "So, you followed me then?" I nodded and said "Indeed. And I really must thank you, after all, you brought me here where I can secure my greatest feast yet!" I went into a fit of laughter before Nero abruptly said something that caught me attention.

"Y/N, if it's really you in there then you need to get a hold of yourself. There's too much at stake here for you to start going insane on us!" My laughter died down to a low chuckle, my eyes narrowed as I slowly grinned again and began speaking "So, you caught on. Took you long enough."

V placed his hand in front of Nero and said "Our words have no chance of getting through to him. And I doubt our chances. But it seems all we can do now is stall him until we have a chance to escape."

Nero didn't need to be told any more as he said "Works for me." Abruptly pushing past V's hand and charging at me with Red Queen in hand. He leapt up and went in for a slash attack at me. I easily raised Eclipse and blocked the attack though.

I wasted no time following up by shooting a stream of lightning from my hand that send Nero flying back into the wall of the van, he banged against it with a grunt before falling to the ground. He instantly recovered and drew his firearm Blue Rose, opening fire.

The rounds only stung faintly however it seemed that this attack had only been a distraction as I heard an animalistic growl and the next thing I knew, I was pounced on by a giant panther! The beast attempted to claw at me while roaring aggressively.

I knew by the almost ethereal quality the beast held, I knew instantly this was another of V's familiars, similar to the Griffon familiar I'd seen already when we first arrived here a month prior. Of course a familiar would be of no use to me or Eclipse.

I effortlessly kicked the panther familiar off me and took flight, blasting it with a surge of lightning, causing the demonic familiar to fall to the ground. I spun around just as Nero attempted to attack once again.

This time he used his robotic arm, only it was different from before. Instead of creating that purple projection of his hand, it instead impacted right with my face, creating a powerful shockwave in the process.

Blood spewed from my mouth as the punch's force was able to send me crashing into a nearby building. Even after that attack, I easily got up, a few chunks of concrete were dislodged from the building in the process.

I glared at both Nero and V, shooting my eyes between the two of them. In an instant I readied Eclipse and charged forward towards V, he summoned forth that panther familiar again that attempted to defend against me.

It didn't do him much good as I evaded it swiping at me with its claws before retaliating with a slash that sliced into the familiar's side. Of course it wasn't dead, but it was out of commission for the time being.

The next thing I knew, V quickly summoned the familiar Griffon familiar who instantly said "Sorry Y/N, this is for your own good!" It shot out a stream of electricity of its own that actually managed to hit me and stunned me for a few seconds.

Nero took that chance to lash out with Red Queen and managed to just about slash at one of my wings, this however did end up breaking my stunned state. I let out an enraged growl before spinning around and swiftly slicing at him.

Nero barely had chance to roll out of the way before I followed up with a ferocious stomp that would have done significant damage if it had hit. I shot my own stream of lightning towards Griffon. As the surge hit, Griffon let out a shriek in pain before collapsing to the ground.

This was where I saw an opportunity, with Eclipse in hand, I dived towards him however once again I was intercepted by Nero who dived in front of his ally and blocked my attack with his own sword.

I growled and spat "If you are that desperate to die, I won't stand in your way." We remained in this clash for a moment before I used my wings to push myself back off him. I then lunged forward in a corkscrew motion, Eclipse extended in front of me.

Nero again, leapt up, dodging that first attack however I quickly followed up by striking him with the hilt of my blade. Slamming it into his back before rapidly spinning around and kicking him in the same place, making him fall to the ground.

As Nero lead face-down on the floor, I stood over him and eerily murmured "Now, I made a mistake in letting you go last time. That is one I won't let happen again." I stepped towards him when I noticed something.

A large shadow extended and loomed over me. Turning around I found myself faced by a colossal demon made of the same darkness that V's last two familiars were also made of. This one was far more intimidating though.

V himself stood at the base of the huge familiar. A dark aura now surrounded his body and his hair was a bleached white. He held a firm stare at me as he said calmly "This is where this battle ends Y/N." To that I replied "You're right, and it will end in your demise. You shall fuel Eclipse's hunger!" V sighed before saying "So be it."

He made a gesture with his hand and the giant Nightmare familiar fired a purple beam from its singular eye towards me. I flew upwards, evading the beam before firing a blast of lightning at the demon's eye.

This caused the demon to stagger back before trying to counter by flinging one of its arms at me. It managed to hit however I raised Eclipse and as a result I was only knocked back a short distance.

I landed back on the ground as the familiar attempted to stomp on me. I moved back and sliced at its leg, cutting deeply into it, causing the familiar to roar and collapse onto all fours. I landed opposite the familiar intent to finish it off when I was interrupted.

"Y/N!"

I spun around, intent on killing whoever it was when my eyes locked with LADY! She stood at the entrance to the van, a blanket wrapped around her as she stared at me with a saddened expression.

Time seemed to completely freeze for everyone, Nero had rolled onto his back and both he and V stared at the exchange in anticipation. Both me and Lady remained silent before she finally broke it.

"Y/N, I know it's you. Please, don't make this difficult, let us- let me help you." I didn't respond at first, instead just  staring at her before I mumbled "Lady..." One thing that was different was the demonic tone in my voice seemed to vanish for a moment.

That's when the headache started, I clasped my head letting out a "Gah!" I dropped to my knees for a moment writhing in pain. Nero got to his feet and slowly approached however once he was close enough I let out a feral growl and lashed out at him.

Without another word, I turned back to Lady before taking off. Again, I'd left forgetting my initial goal. However at this point I didn't care. Seeing Lady awakened a fragment of my mind that I thought had been locked away.

My mind was tearing at its seams and memories were beginning to flow back, memories that I'd managed to repress...
