Y/N POV

Time was once again of the essence, more so this time than before. Now it wasn't a matter of simply investigating the Order's intentions. That had now become clear. No, it was now a matter of finally putting a stop to that giant Saviour that now towered over the city of Fortuna.

Lady and Trish had both headed off ahead of us to see how many people they could evacuate. It was now up to me and Dante to actually put an end to the Saviour itself as well as Sanctus' dark ambitions for the colossal statue!

We began making our way back the way we came, heading back the way we came intent on finding the exit. Naturally, we did encounter some opposition on the way out. As we entered the meeting room again we were ambushed.

At first they resembled just your ordinary Scarecrow demons, however these ones possessed multiple blades as opposed to just one. Even with that though, it was easy for me and Dante to cut them down with ease.

 After that, we wasted no time rushing out of the Order's headquarters. There was nothing more of interest here. We encountered more enemies in the form of Bianco Angelo knights however even they weren't much trouble. I cut through one of them before shifting to another. Dante did the same and they were all dealt with in no time.

It helped that Dante was much tougher than Lady so we got through them even quicker than I did with her. Once they were dealt with, we both crossed the bridge, headed out past the entry structure and the platform where I'd fought Credo and Nero before descending into the forest. 

The sun shining through the canopy of trees was still a wonderous sight. However this time there was even less time to take in the scenery as we both proceeded into the wilderness in order to find an exit back to the castle.

Obviously we would need to retrace our steps, navigating out of the forest back to the castle, heading through that damned Tundra and then onto Fortuna itself where the Saviour and hopefully Yamato, would be waiting for us.

It seemed though, that even the simple idea of retracing our steps wouldn't exactly be easy. Because shortly after arriving in the forest we came across a very strange obstacle. It wasn't a demon or any other sentient creature. But rather, our path was blocked by a giant veil of pure darkness. 

I turned to Dante and asked "So, how do you suppose we tackle this?" I knew he'd come up with something reckless and sure enough, he proved me right as he replied by drawing Rebellion and pointing at it and saying "What else? We go right through it!"

I sighed before saying "I knew you'd suggest that." Dante grinned before asking "What, are you scared?" I rolled my eyes and said "Of course now, have it your way then." With that Dante said "That's the spirit!" As we both headed into the veil.

The process was strange, however it seemed to activate almost as a portal. As we passed through the veil, we seemed to be transported to a completely different area in the forest. As soon as this happened I pieced everything together.

"So, it's a labyrinth. Well that's just great." Dante just laughed at my frustration and replied "Things just always gotta be complicated." I suggested "I assume we just keep heading through these gates until we find a way out." Dante joked "Yeah, and try not to get lost in the process."

With that knowledge, we just proceeded on the path presented before us. We made our way along a conveniently made footpath through the foliage, until we reached yet another veil of darkness.

By this point, memory of the forest's layout was worthless. These veils turned the entire place into some form of labyrinth. Entering through the wrong veil would simply us out in a location we'd already been and that wasn't a good thing, I meant we'd find ourselves turned around completely in an instant.

Not to mention, along the way we'd find the odd demon encounter. One such encounter happened as we exited a veil and found ourselves at some sort of stone structure with a fountain outside. The purpose of which was unknown however shortly after we arrived we were attacked by a peculiar sort of demon.

They actually came out of no where. It started with two of them and they just appeared abruptly under mine and Dante's feet respectively. They appeared to be strange star shaped things that were flat on the ground.

Luckily, the side that faced upwards glowed a bright blue which caught our attention, we both looked down before jumping upwards just as the initially flat demons snapped shut. I don't know what would have happened if we'd not dodged it however upon realizing what had happened, they opened up again and disappeared. 

Landing back on the ground Dante commented "Where do you think all these new demons keep coming from?" I replied "Me and Lady were discussing the same thing. It's strange, they just pop up with each major threat that emerges." We laughed for a moment before I raised a finger and said "Wait."

Looking down, I noticed that demon once again emerge under my feet. This time I just quickly drew Eclipse and stabbed it into the demon's centre. The demon thrashed about a bit before falling limp.

Dante simply jumped to evade a second bite from his demon before performing a downward slash from above that cut it in half. Funny, how despite its initial surprise of the demon's sudden appearance, they went down quite easily.

With them out of the way quite quickly, we hadn't lost much time and were able to continue on our original task of finding our way out the the forest. We travelled through a few more veils before we came across something of interest.

Once veil in particular lead us to a large open area, at the end of it was a large cuboid that I instantly recognized as the same Hell Gate I'd seen earlier. My concern increased when I noticed that green fissure was present down the middle of it once again.

Dante asked "So, this is a Hell Gate?" I replied "Yeah, and it appears to be opened. Which means-." I drew Eclipse and spun around to slice through several plant-themed projectiles...
