Timeskip, a few years later...

Y/N POV

"The Order of the Sword huh?" Dante asked. Currently we were all gathered inside the Devil May Cry shop, discussing an issue which had recently emerged as of late. By 'we' I mean, myself, Dante, Lady and Trish.

Dante was sat behind his desk in a large throne-like chair, a slice of pizza in his hand. Lady was stood in front of him, leaning forward and explaining everything. Trish was sat on the table itself, also eating pizza and I was sat on a nearby sofa, Arius' old magnum in my hand as I analysed it.

It had been a few years since the events on Vie de Marli and even then, I'd kept my hands on Arius' old firearm, almost as a reminder of what transpired, his connection to my mother and our eventual battle that lead to his demise. I rarely actually used the weapon though, instead choosing to keep it locked away most of the time.

I tuned in to the conversation at hand as Lady replied to Dante's question, asking "Yes, are you familiar with them?" She stared directly at Dante through her new orange sunglasses, I knew they were new because she literally spent MY money on them!

The Order of the Sword she spoke of was a group of religious fanatics that worshipped Sparda like a GOD. At first they were just small-time, not really doing much. But as of late they were beginning to become more of an active nuisance. Even going as far as to interfere with mine and Lady's contracts.

Dante replied "Sorry, religion and I don't mix." Lady explained "It's a small congregation that gathers in the castle town of Fortuna. I guess the only people who would have heard of it are the ones who's take interest in this type of thing."

Dante pointed the pizza slice between me and Lady, saying "Like you two?" Lady replied "Exactly." She then asked "So just how much do you know about Sparda?" All Dante said was "Well, from what I can figure there's a lot of confusion surrounding him."

He glanced at Trish who didn't say anything. I just sighed to myself and muttered "You really need to take note of what happens around you Dante. Or at least do a little bit of research instead of just sitting on your ass all the time." Dante just retorted "Aww, but sitting on my ass it fun."

Lady rolled her eyes under her sunglasses before going on to explain "The story goes that Sparda served as the feudal lord of the city long ago. The people who live there today take these legends as truth and worship him-."

She turned, walked to the door before turning back and finishing "-Just like a god." Dante leaned forward, asking "They worship a demon as a god?" Lady continued "Peaceful worship can't be condemned. But the real problem is the order." She approached the table once again, "Lately they've been running amok. Catching demons and have even butted in on some of mine and Y/N's jobs."

I stood up and slowly approached the table as well as Dante carelessly shrugged it off, saying "Maybe they're starting a zoo." Lady snatched the pizza slice from his hand as I added "Not just demons, they also seem to have taken an interest in Devil Arms, like the ones we use."

Again, Dante just brushed it off saying "Okay then, a museum. So what?" He reached for the slice however Lady moved it out of his reach. It was at this point that Trish had stood up and went over to the wall.

I turned my attention back to Dante and Lady's conversation, as the latter asked "Well what if their intentions are foul? And there's a diabolical plan behind these apparently random acts?" I nodded and said "Agreed. I don't trust that order, not in the slightest. It's likely that they're up to something."

Dante still remained completely laid back "Well then I'd have something to keep me occupied and-." It was at this point that we all noticed Trish's absence, Dante called "Trish!" However there was no reply.

Turning around, we noticed both Trish and the 'Sparda' sword were gone. Written on the wall in pink lipstick was the simple phrase 'See you there'. I sighed to myself before muttering "Seems she's beat us to the punch this time."

Lady stated "Try not to keep us waiting Dante." She grabbed Kalina Ann and walked away, Dante's pizza slice still in her hand. She turned to me and said "Come on Y/N." I pointed at myself and said "Wait, me?"

Lady shrugged "Of course, unless you want to be stuck with Dante for this whole ordeal." I instantly replied "Consider it done." Wasted no time, grabbing Eclipse off the sofa I was sat on before. Placed Cinder in its holster. Even picked up Light and Dark, those Ifrit gauntlets as well as my grenade launcher. It didn't hurt to be prepared. I had no idea how things would play out or what I was up against here.

I turned to Dante and said "Well, like Trish said. See you there. Don't do anything stupid with me not around to bail your ass." I gave a joking salute as Dante sarcastically stated "Ha ha. very funny. When did you become such a comedian." 

After I faintly chuckled. Lady said "Okay, you've had your fun Y/N, let's get going already." I raised my hands and said "Fine, fine. Have it your way." With that, we headed out of the door to the shop, only to be met with yet another demon threat.

I sighed, drawing Eclipse as Lady raised Kalina Ann, "Well it seems we were right to be suspicious. Let's get this over with." Lady teasingly remarked "Oh but where's the fun in that?" I muttered "Point taken."

Little did we know, demons were only the beginning of what was to come...

Author's Note: And that's it for this chapter, the first chapter of the Devil May Cry 4 segment. I don't know how long this is going to be, it will definitely be longer than the previous DMC2 segment, however it also won't be as long as some of the others like DMC3 and DMC1 since this game was more Nero's story. Of course, he will make his debut in the book in this segment so I hope you enjoy that. I think it will still be interesting to read since I've got some fun battles planned. Anyway, I hope you enjoy what's to come, I also hope you enjoyed this chapter and as always, thank you for reading.
