Chapter 16: Back through the Tower
(We're finally in the endgame of this segment. After this there are four more chapters that I have planned. I really do hope you like them.)
Y/N POV
AGAIN! Again, I had to make my way through the Temen-Ni-Gru. This time there was much more urgency due to the fact that Arkham was probably already opening the gateway to the Demon World by now.
I traversed my way through a few similar locations, most of which I had already been through when I first attempted to reach the top of the tower. Which looking back felt like years ago now when in truth it was probably a simple matter of hours.
Regardless, pushing forward, I still encountered some opposition in the form of the standard demons that I had come to expect. At this point though, I just cut them down without even needing to actually think.
That was until, I found myself in a long corridor, as I made my way through it, these red barriers appeared on either side of the hallway, effectively trapping me. As if on cue, these strange new demons appeared, they resembled knights with large shields out in front of them.
Image of a Dullahan:
The razor-sharp blades on the shields began spinning round as the two knight-like demons began moving slowly. One came from each side, I looked back and forth between the two, analysing the best plan of attack.
I continued analysing them until eventually I came up with an idea. As the two knights crossed one another, I ducked and as they passed, I leapt upward, quickly decapitating one of them.
As the second one turned back around and resumed heading toward me, I got back to my feet and readied Eclipse. As the demon passed over me, I leapt up behind it and swiftly stabbed it in the back causing that one to fall down.
The red barrier formed a large hand before shattering almost like glass. With that matter I continued on my current journey, deeper into the tower. I came up to a staircase which lead me downwards towards a door.
Opening it, I found myself in that extremely tall room with the spiral staircase leading upwards, this was where I first encountered that woman. I was curious as to how she was doing at this point.
I began ascending the long staircase until eventually I arrived at another door, this one, much like ones I had been in before simply lead me to another less-steep staircase where I encountered more lesser demons.
As they approached, I drew Cinder and flipped over them, firing downwards and filling their heads with bullets in the process. I landed back on the ground as they all collapsed, except for one which staggered up to me slowly. I turned to it and smirked saying "Well, we have a survivor over here." I then raised Cinder again and finished it off with a straight face.
I went through the door at the top of the stairs which lead into an open, circular room, similar to one I might have entered earlier, at this point, the whole tower was beginning to feel similar. Anyway, here I encountered even more enemies, none of which were a problem or even worth describing how I killed them for that matter.
Regardless, on the other side of this room was another door and going through this lead me to yet another staircase. This one seemed to be split up into two paths, one going up and the other going down.
I chose to head up since I felt this would get me to my destination quickly, as I climbed the first set of stairs, I found out it curved around, going up again. However at this brief curve was a path leading out to a balcony.
I stepped out and looked around when in an instant I heard what sounded like a motorbike roaring. Stepping closer to the edge, I looked down and was actually surprised to see DANTE heading towards me on a motorbike, somehow riding it up the side of the tower!
He didn't notice me and instead disappeared from sight shortly afterwards. That's when, yet again, I was ambushed by a new type of demons. These ones almost looked angelic in appearance with glowing white feather-like robes.

I tried attacking one of these demons however to my surprise, it darted back and disappeared into the wall. I ran back into the room where the stairs were and found this demon had somehow phased through the wall.
I decided that it would be best for me to use my Devil Trigger and after tapping into it, I leapt towards the demon, slashing at its torso repeatedly and actually managed to severely damage it. I finished it off with a stab through the chest.
Turning my attention to the other demons, I dashed forward using my enhanced speed and sliced into one of them, breaking its barrier with a single slash, this was followed up with a swift slice down the middle slicing the angelic demon in half, causing it to disappear just like all the previous ones.
The other two demons present met the same fate, at this point it was beginning to grow tedious, cutting down these useless demons. I was beginning to realize now that all these demons, regardless of appearance and abilities, they were all the same in the end.
I looked up towards the top of tower, I just had to continue onwards, and hope I would be able to stop Arkham...
Author's Note: That's it for this chapter, I would like to apologise, unlike the last few chapters, this one was difficult to write so I'm sorry if it was bad. I still do hope you liked it and I hope you enjoy the next few in the segment as well. As always though, thank you for reading.
