Y/N POV

You could argue that it wasn't safe for me to continue the fight against Urizen, let alone going on my own route where I would come across a multitude of demons, any one of them maybe causing Eclipse to relapse. And perhaps you're right, perhaps it would have been safer for me to stay back at the van with Lady, Trish and Nico.

But no, unbeknownst to everyone else, I knew Eclipse couldn't remerge. Because to unlock my newfound demonic state, I had to assimilate the demonic embodiment within the blade itself meaning I was now in full control over the sword!

Besides, even without that, this was something I needed to see through to the end. Not that I wasn't confident in Dante, Nero and V's ability to stop him. But with what he did to me and Lady, it had gone beyond just a simple, saving humanity from an evil demon, no, now it had become personal.

With that on my mind, I made my way through the dark pathways of the Qliphoth. At this point it was really just a matter of who could make it to the top of the Qliphoth first and between here and there, like I mentioned before, were multiple hordes of demons we'd have to get through, which was a bonus for me, as I would still be able to use Eclipse to harvest them, just without the negative repercussions that I'd attack everyone around me.

And sure enough, it didn't take me long to reach my first opposing demon horde and these ones were particularly interesting. About ten minutes after we'd split up, I found myself in an open room which of course was the perfect place for an ambush.

All around me, in a circular motion, demons emerged from the ground. These weren't like the typical demons that I had encountered before, these ones resembled knights, similar to the knights used by the Order of the Sword five years ago. Of course without the gleaming white colour scheme and instead were a deep black.

Looking closer at these demons, I noted a resemblance to Nelo Angelo, the demonic persona Vergil was under while under Mundus' control. Which with what I was starting to understand about Urizen, this was very interesting.

I was cut off from my train of thought as the knights all surrounded me and got into defensive stances with their shields raised in front of them and their swords ready for stabbing attacks. Not that this would do them much good.

A grin spread across my face as I spoke to myself "Well, this seems like it could be the perfect exercise. My body has felt a bit stiff since I gained control of Eclipse so this should allow me to stretch out and test my new firearm.

In one hand I held Eclipse and in the other I had the new and improved Cinder. The knights began stepping closer towards me however my grin remained. There were about ten knights around me and all at once they rushed forward.

They all went in for stabbing attacks which I easily evaded their attacks by leaping upwards. While in the air, I spun and wasted no time taking out one of the knights with one swift slash that decapitated it.

As that knight's body hit the ground. I landed and instantly fired several rounds into another one. If this had been the old Cinder, the knight would have had time to raise its shield and block the attack. However thanks to Nico's modification, the rounds fired so fast that there wasn't even time to react!

From there I started battling two of the knights, countering their sword attacks with a few of my own one of the knights went down to a slash across its chest and the other one was cut down at the waste. Both of them collapsing to the ground before disappearing.

I turned to the remaining six knights and just stared at them. While I remained silent, I will admit, I was somewhat disappointed. Before these knights may have posed a threat but now, with both my mastery of Eclipse AND the new and improved Cinder they weren't much trouble for me.

Before I could attack and finish things off though, the sound of metallic footsteps filled the large open area. At first I looked around for the source of it however I soon realized it was actually coming from behind the remaining Scudo Angelo knights.

Suddenly the group parted and someone walked right through the crowd towards me. When I saw what it was, my eyes widened in surprise. It was another knight, however this one looked almost IDENTICAL to the Nelo Angelo, aside from only minor differences. Judging by how old the Qliphoth seemed to be and what Trish said about Mundus using the Qliphoth's fruit to become king of the underworld, I assumed these demons were the prototypes for the Nelo Angelo armour that me and Dante fought.

The Proto Angelo came to a stop at the front of the group of less knights who all just remained motionless. In its hand was a giant great sword. Again, somewhat similar to the blade wielded by Vergil years ago when he was under the guise of Nelo Angelo.

I just stared at the knight for a moment as it stood and seemingly stared back. It then abruptly stepped forward and the next thing I knew, it was attempting to slice at me with its large blade. I was able to raise Eclipse and block the attack.

I grinned at the knight as we clashed together and said "You'll have to do better than that." Now that I thought about it, even if this was THE Nelo Angelo I fought before, I am far stronger now than I was back then so I'm not sure why I expected this fight to go any differently.

The Proto Angelo stepped back, withdrawing from the clash before going in for a sideways slash attack. Again though I countered, just using one hand on Eclipse. I raised my hand to defend as the demonic knight swung down at me continuously.

Eventually I grew board and sidestepped out of the way, causing the knight to stagger a bit in an attempt to hit me. I quickly followed up by striking it across the back, slicing its cape and cutting into the armour behind it, causing the demon to fall to the ground. 

I went in to finish the job again however this time the Proto Angelo quickly raised its own sword to defend before rolling backwards onto one knee and getting back on to its feet. I just kept my eye on it. Unknown to the knight, this fight was nearly over.

I rushed forward, entering my Devil Trigger before aggressively striking at the Proto Angelo. It tried defending with its sword. However the sheer force of my attack was enough to make it stagger back.

I then followed up with another slash that struck its chest and caused a massive mark to appear on its armour. It tried to strike back however I dodged and in that moment, the knight left itself wide open for the final attack.

In a swift motion I lashed out, decapitating the Proto Angelo. Its head hit the ground, bouncing briefly as it body fell to the floor as well with a loud clunk. I stood over the remains of the knight as its body disappeared before turning to the still spectating lesser knights and asking "So, who's next."

The knights charged forward however as you may have guessed from my earlier fight with them, it wasn't a battle. It was more like a slaughter. It didn't take me long to cut through each Scudo Angelo demon one after the other.

As I sliced right through the final knight's torso and it disappeared. I looked up to the sky, holding my arms out on either side before smiling and saying out loud to myself.

"Ah, it feel so good to be back!"
