Y/N POV

Spinning around, I glanced into the shadows of the chasm. Out of the darkness emerged an extremely large bird-like demon emerged. On top of this body were three humanoid female bodies that looked completely different to the rest of its body.

I'd encountered this specific demon twice before, Malphas was her name, she was one of the stronger demons under Urizen's control. Her actual strength was unknown to me but judging how she'd not been slain yet meant there was certainly some ability there, either that or she'd just remained hidden all this time.

(Originally this was going to be V, however I had to change it last minute because it wouldn't properly fit in with the timing of when everything happens, so I'm saving that planned exchange for a future chapter, maybe the next one.)

The three feminine heads all turned to look down at me as they all spoke in unison stating "You." I wasted no time revealing Eclipse and flapping my wings in anticipation. Like I'd said before, unless you were Urizen who I knew I was too weak of handle right now, or that Artemis who I found out had Lady inside of her, then you were fair game for me.

Malphas continued, her voice echoing throughout the chasm. "You seem to be enjoying yourself, you always were nothing more than a savage animal. If our lord hadn't given you his blessing then I would have silenced you long ago. Put you down like the beast you are."

I retorted, "Look who's talking." I was about to make a joke based on her appearance, however there was something more important that I felt she could help me with. "Say, you wouldn't happen to have seen either Dante or the devil sword Sparda have you?"

Malphas just snarled down at me and asked "So what if I have? I do not take orders from you." It was at this point I'd completely had enough, my grin faded only to be replaced by a snarl as I said "It wasn't an order, it was a THREAT." To that Malphas just smirked and asked "Threatened? By you? What a joke."

She began laughing and in an instant I leapt up, aiming directly for the three humanoid bodies on top. In a swift motion I sliced at one of them, landing a slash right through its torso. Since they all seemingly shared a mind so all three of them shrieked out in pain.

I flew back and fired a stream of lightning at them, causing further damage that caused them to scream in unison "DAMN YOU! YOU WILL PAY FOR THAT!" The giant bird they were attached to proceeded to rush forward in a headbutting motion.

I effortlessly dodged the attach causing the bird to collide with the wall of the chasm and fall down. I used that opportunity to lash out with Eclipse, cutting into the creature and causing it to screech again.

Surprisingly enough, shortly after that, the bird disappeared into a purple portal causing my follow-up attack to strike the walls instead. I withdrew and jumped back. I knew well enough this fight wasn't over, I kept my whit's about me as I looked around.

Sure enough, the portal opened behind me as Malphas attempted to lunge at me, swiping with her claws. Again though, I proceeded to dodge with minimal effort. Malphas may have been a powerful demon but I had her outclassed in terms of speed so constantly dodging wasn't much of a problem.

I leapt up into the air and went in for another slash attack, striking the bird-like torso and causing the three humanoid heads to scream in rage. They attempted to retaliate by reaching around and grabbing my in one of their large hands.

The attempt was successful, however I instantly broke out and sliced the palm of the giant hand, further wounding the giant female demon. From there, I let Eclipse do all the work, I allowed my rage to flow.

Slash after slash I attacked Malphas without mercy. Occasionally she would try to attack back, however I easily evaded the attacks and continued on with my onslaught as if her efforts hadn't happened.

She entered another portal before exiting from a second one, attempting to rush me once more with another headbutt attack. I leapt up once more and sliced at the three bodies on top, injuring all three with a single slash.

As I landed on the ground I commented "I must admit, I'm disappointed, I expected better." Malphas turned to me and let out an enraged screech before yelling "WHY YOU! I WILL RIP YOU TO PIECES!"

In one final rage-filled charge, she rushed forward and began trying to hit me with her claws. However by this point, I'm sure you could guess how it played out. I just kept on evading, laughing more and more psychotically before I grew bored and ended things.

With a single slash, I cut into Malphas' leg, causing her to crumple to the floor with a loud thud, dust and stones bounced from the impact. I slowly approached, my laugh downgraded to a small chuckle as I readied Eclipse.

I was about to raise my weapon when the three humanoid she demons frantically raised their hands and exclaimed at the same time "Wait! Wait! I may know where Dante is! I will tell you, if you spare me!"

Seeing such a feeble attempt from an otherwise egoistical demon certainly brought a smirk to my face. Nevertheless, I lowered my blade and in a more calm, said "Go on..." While gesturing for her to explain.

Malphas instantly began speaking "He was here mere minutes ago. As was the sword Sparda. But a man with a cane came and they all left." I asked "And? Where did they go?" The three demons all pointed off and said "That way! Dante mentioned something about Urizen and a 'Nero'!"

My grin only spread as I said "Thank you, you've been most helpful. Now, it's harvesting time!" In a swift motion I lashed out and decapitated one of the three heads causing it to fall limp. The other two screamed out in agony as purple electricity streamed out.

I raised my sword again, however before I could finish off the other two, they created a portal and disappeared into it without a trace. I growled a bit in frustration however I soon pushed that to the back of my mind, focussing on another matter.

My attention shifted in the direction Malphas had pointed. She may have gotten away, but she gave me some invaluable directions that put me one step closer to my goal. 

In the end though, I would find something much different...

Author's Note: And that's it for this chapter, I'm sorry for the late upload as well as my abrupt change of plans, my original idea with V wouldn't have fit in with the DMC5 timeline so I may have that be next chapter or the one after that.
