The Things They Never See

Though they think they're so diligent,
They know nothing of you at all.
All their beliefs about you
Are not even close to truth.

And through their hazy eyes,
They see yours as full of hope.
The joy they think you have
Is unbearably far from reality.

Everyday they pass by you,
But don't see your pain.
How everyday you're scarred
From another thing you've had to witness.

Though your beanie is low,
Your head is held high
As you walk quicker down the hallways,
Trying to stay strong.

But every night,
You softly cry
As you think of everything.
All the things they never see
