her letter

To Mr Jekyll Hardin Caldwell,

If you are seeing this, it's because I have finally decided to open up my feelings to you. I know that you know I've been in love with you for a long time now, but I just need to tell you myself. I have fallen head over heels for you ever since I first saw you looking out the window in your room. I know it may seem stupid, but I don't care what those people say.

I could be the foolish girl, or the idiot who fell in love with a maniac. I don't care because I love every single part of you. Your golden curls, the way you quote excerpts from C.S. Lewis's book out of the blue, the way you wear your suits every morning, how you always say Shakespeare is just full of balderdash and just everything else.

I don't want to continue listing the things which I love about you, because that would be everything and it would become a never ending list, anyway. But basically, I have loved you ever since the day I started working with you. Thank you so much for taking the time to introduce yourself to me and opening up to me. You were one of the nicest patients I have ever met, and I'm really grateful for that. Thank you for introducing me to Dickens, and C.S. Lewis. Thank you for cheering me up whenever I was down. Thank you for being a gentleman.

I have to stop writing now because I have to go to your mansion soon. I hope it would be as important as you said.

But before that, I just have to say you're really special to me, J. And I hope that you'll allow me to enter your heart one day because I'll always wait for you.

I love you, Jekyll Hardin Caldwell.

And I hope you feel the same way too.

Love, Demelza Harper.
