It's been two weeks since the attack on Haven academy. Team RWBY, Jaune, Nora, Ren, Oscar and Kain have discussed their next moves after Ozpin told them to bring the relic to Atlas. The real reason why wasn't reveled yet, but it is safer than keeping it out in the open where anyone could attack the group. In these two weeks, everyone go re-acquainted with each other while a plan for their travels has been in the works. However it seems easier than it really would be.

The whole ggroup is standing on top of a train at the moment, because Grimm started attacking it for some unknown reason. Ruby and her teammates along with Qrow and Kain are doing everything they can to protect the innocent civilians from these vile creatures while Oscar and Team JNPR just get onto the top of the vehicle. You may wonder how this all came to be, so let's jump back a while.

---Flashback---

The day actually started with the group arriving and waiting at the train station. The train was a good solution to the normal ways of transportation. What happened two weeks ago didn't go unnoticed of course as the media told it as it was and how further investigation would be handled. The kids were on their own at the moment as Qrow and Kain split from them for various reasons. Qrow was going to send a letter to General Ironwood, explaining his thoughts on the situation and where he and the kids are.

Qrow:" It's been two weeks since the attack on Haven. The official report states that the plot to destroy Mistral's CCT Tower was thwarted by Ghira Belladonna and the Faunus militia group from Menagerie. A huntsman and some students coincedentally visiting the headmaster were also able to lend some assistance. Unfortunately, Leonardo Lionheart lost his life while trying to defend his school. And those resposnible for the organisation of the attack managed to escape. As I'm sure you can guess, there's a lot more to this report than I'm willing to say in this letter. But for now, what I'm trying to say is that we're on our way to Atlas, James. There's a good chance we'll get there before this letter does, but in case we don't, I need you to know that we're bringing a lot more than bad news with us. See you soon,

Qrow

PS: I've met an old friend on my way with the kids, so he's coming with us as well. I just beg you to keep your composure around him and respect what he says and does."

He then put the letter in and was about to go somewhere when Ruby bumped into him on her way around the station. The older man didn't seem to be in the best mood, so he seems a little annoyed when he turned around to her.

Qrow:" Hey, what's with the running?"

Ruby:" What's with the standing? It's almost time."

And soon enough, the quirky teen made her way through the crowd as a cloud of rose petals. She was so eager to get to Atlas with her friends that the smile she had would've been contagious. Kain on the other hand was listening in on a few suspicious people. He was there for a few minutes already, just to get a drink before the train would arrive, bt then he heard a few details about something more or less exciting.

P1:" So how are we gonna do this again?"

P2:" Ugh, You really didn't listen when the boss explained it? The two of us are here to guard the train. We will have to make sure everyone trusts us, so we can arrive safely at our destination. If some complications come up, we're there to calm the situation no matter what."

P1:" Oh, yeah...That. And what if some Grimm attack us? I mean this is our first day here."

P2:" We fight of course! Damn, I can't believe you made it this far."

P1:" Watch it, you doofus."

Kain just chuckled at the stupidity in front of him as he decided to walk back towards the others. He changed his outfit a bit to conquer the cold weather and to make him look more acceptable. He now wears thick winter boots, mountain climber pants,a sweater and a coat over it. The colour scheme is the same as his old one: a mix of greys and black with a few dark blue accents.

The big man also changed his appearance abit, sporting a little spikier hair and a short goatee instead of a full beard. Thw few wrinkles on his face compliments his features slightly more than before as he looks more serious, if that's even possible. 

Kain has been doing alright so far, recovering from the fights he was in and keeping himself composed as good as he can around others, especially authority figures. The venom in his voice didn't die though as he still keeps a healthy hate against thw White Fang, the Branwen tribe and Ozpin's lies. Yes, he knows the old wizards only wants the best for everyone, but keeping important things from them is a whole other story. Then again, there are still secrets that Kain has to find out for himself about his ancestors.

--------------Scene change--------------

A moment later, Ruby joined her friends again while holding a bag in front of her. It was probably meant as a surprise for Yang who was a bit annoyed, but that feeling went away when she and Ruby bickered around. nora's excitement was way over the top once again as she thought about what Atlas would be like while Ren kept an almost clear head, thinking about their mission. The only one in a slightly bad mood was Weiss who just got out of that cold hell she called home for years. Footsteps then caught their attention as thy look at two guys who were way too smug for their own good.

P1:" No one's gotta be worried with us around."

Nora:" And you are?"

P2:" Why Dee and Dudley of course. The Argus Limited's very own Huntsmen. We'll keep everyone safe as we pass through Grimm territory."

Dudley:" But for a generous tip, we can make sure your passenger car gets extra special attention should things get dangerous."

Qrow:" Yeah, I got a tip for you."

Dudley:" Huh?"

Qrow:" Buzz off. Looks like Mistral's really scraping the bottom of the barrel these days."

Dee:" Hey, you're talking to a-"

Kain:" A professional huntman, yeah. So are you two nutheads."

The two then look from Qrow to Kain and back for a few seconds, looking at each ones' license. They aren't too thrilled to learn that they messed with two really experienced huntsmen, but Qrow isn't done with them yet.

Qrow:" Well, it seems like one of you heroes left the staff entrance to the caboose wide open. It'd be a shame to lose your job before it even started."

Dudley:" I didn't do it."

Dee:" Come on, dummy."

They disappeared as fast as they appeared to annoy the group, passing Kain who just gave them a warning look with his eye. He sighed when they were out of range and leaned against one of the pillars near to him. Qrow then turned to the teens to see if everyone is there while Ozpin gave his own opinion about Dee and Dudley.

Ozpin:" I hope those weren't Beacon graduates. You know, sometimes the burden of saving the world feels overwhelming. But then people like that come along and make me grateful that it's our job and not theirs."

Ruby:" Uh-huh."

Nora:" Yeah."

Qrow:" So, you kids all ready to go? bike all loaded up?"

Yang:" Yep."

Weiss:" Just waiting on Blake. As usual."

----- Scene change ----

Now that everyone is on the train and the cabins have been arranged, it seems like the ride would go smooth for the group. Team RWBY is in their cabin, doing various things like playing video games, reading comics and such. Team JNPR and Oscar are somewhere else, just like Kain and Qrow. The mood is alright all around while the train speeds along through the snowy mountain paths. All of them had a hard time digesting the events at Haven. What happened has been spread out into the whole of Remnant, so everyone knows the chaos.

For Kain, there was a step back when Abyss left him and took the rest of his semblance with him. The years they spent together were filled with a mix of everything, but most of it was hatred and fear. Why? Because Abyss can't be let loose on the society, although he saved Kain from various deadly attacks. But Kain has a new semblance now and he will use it to support the kids on their journey. He currently stands outside, leaning against the train cart and looks into the far fields of snow. Millions of thought run through his head. How is his family? What was his tribe hiding? Is there a hidden meaning behind the glass violin he received from his wife the last time they met? These questions may never be answered, but if they have an answer, he hopes it's only good news.

Kain:" Atlas, huh...I'll be damned if Ironwood gets in my way. Hell, I'd shoot myself, if I ever have to work with him....Then again, he runs the academy and the military, so maybe he'd shoot me first before anything else."

But peace doesn't stay long for everyone as some kind of Grimm start attacking the train. The carts shake violently what grabs everyone's attenton immediatly. Kain climbs up in a matter of seconds, facing the first few Sphinxes. His saber looks a bit ineffective against the monsters, but he does try his best to fight while Qrow and Team RWBY get in on the fun after Dee was picked off the train.

Weiss:" What's the plan, Ruby?"

Ruby:" Don't let anyone else die."

It all must have a reason behind it, because Grimm don't attack civilians just out of the blue. Then again, there are cases where chaos gets the better of everyone. The fight starts quickly with the teens picking out their enemies and trying to kill them to save the travellers. Kain and Qrow team up to take down the giant chimera while the rest get on the Sphinxes. In the meantime dudley has activated the turrets and the armor for the train. Oscar and Team JNPR then join in, being backup for everyone and Oscar asking Qrow what to do.

Oscar:" How can I help?"

Qrow/Kain:" You can tell that idiot to shut off the turrets."

Qrow:" They're just drawing the Grimm towards the passengers."

Oscar:" Right."

Kain:" And if he doesn't, I'll turn his lights off!"

A bit of worry is present on Qrows' face as Oscar makes his way towards Dudley, dodging the Grimm and trying to reach to so-called 'huntsman'. Kain is a bit mad at that smug idiot while keeping his eye on the fight and supporting his friends. Yes, he is still a hothead and that won't change easily. When Oscar reached Dudley, he got his attention quite easily.

Oscar:" Stop! You've gotta shut the turrets off!"

Dudley:" Are you crazy? No way!...Yes! Another one down."

Oscar:" Stop! We've gotta lure the Grimm to the back!"

Dudley:" What does it matter if they're dead?"

The surprise comes from the Grimm itself as they decide to fall back because of something. Oscar is in shock as he turns around and yells to get everyones' attetion.

Oscar:" Tunnel!"

At that, everyone gets down to safety, except for Dudley who breaks his arm while colliding with the wall of the tunnel. The group is alright so far as they get back into the train and into a cart away from the passengers. Oscar tends to the idiot of a hero who sits against a wall with his arm on display. Team RWBY and JNPR rush in, seeing Kain and Qrow there as well. The bigger man is pacing around while gritting his teeth. He runs a hand through his hair while Qrow waltzes over to Dudley and slams him against the wall, fully loaded with rage.

Qrow:" I said turn those damn things off!"

Dudley:" Those things keep us alive."

Qrow:" Us sure, but they're putting the passengers in danger."

Dudley:" I'm the one they hired for this job, okay?"

Kain:" Well, you're damn terrible at it! You're putting innocent people in danger and you are the one to blame!"

Qrow:" Forgive the two of us if we're not exactly reassured. Look, if you two bozos had been doing your job instead of shaking down passengers, maybe we wouldn't be in this-"

It's now upon Ruby to deescalate the situation as she walks towards Qrow and puts a hand on his shoulder to calm himdown. He steps away after letting go of him and and looks on.

Ruby:" Please just shut off the turrets."

Jaune:" Trust us, we know what we're doing."

A moment later, Jaune begins to heal Dudleys' injuries while Kain walks towards the passengers, but stops at the rest of the group. 

Kain:" I'll try to calm down the civilians. You go out and get rid of these damn things. Don't wait for me, I'll join you up there as soon as I can."

---- Scene change ----

Just a few moments later, the group split and begin to make their own ways. Team RWBY, Qrow and Kain are on the trains' roof while Team JNPR is in the front of the train carts, masking the passengers. The vehicle expands the distance clearly as front and back get seperated while the signal gets weaker and weaker. It doesn't take long for the battle to pick up where it left off as the Grimm come back and lay waste to the huntsmen and huntresses. Oscar is fighting alongside the others as well and does his best to exterminate the Sphinx.

Kain:" Kill those damn beasts as quick as you can. The devil may claim my thoughts, but he never will claim my heart! Whoever crosses my heart has to hope to die!"

Qrow:" You heard the man! Let's fight!"

It doesn't take long for the Grimm to be decimated by the seasoned fighters. Oscar and Yang surely do a number on them, cutting and hitting and slashing at everything that moves, just like Kain showed them a couple of days ago. No, he doesn't take the role of a teacher or guardian. It's just that he has a lot to contribute. When the small Grimm are done, the giant chimera is the next target. Qrow is doing alright, but a fireball from the beast sends him back what makes the others move towards it and continuing to fight it. Weiss slides under it with her glyphs as Ruby distracts it with her dust bullets from her weapon. Blake and Yang ground it as the Faunus' bow ties around its body. It flaps its wings for a few seconds before they get frozen by ice dust, courtesy of Weiss Schnee. Kain is putting his saber on fire and cuts the Grimms' tail off while Ruby ad Qrow cut it in half, killing it. The only thing it leaves behind is a fireball that derails the train. Weiss' glyphs slow it down just a bit before the carts crash into the snow filled forrest. The first one to get up after some time is Qrow.

Qrow:" Is everyone okay?"

Weiss:" I'm fine."

Yang:" Yeah."

Kain:" Hanging in there!"

Kain is currently hanging from a tree as another voice joins the frey.

???:" Still alive. That sure was a close one, huh?"

Kain:" Umm, yeah...Anyone kind enough to help me do-"

Just then the branch he hangs on breaks and he falls down face first into the snow. He holds his head while looking at everyone. The elderly woman who just got out of the wreck is a stranger to the whole group as the seem to think about what to do now. The snow filled forrest is a death trap when they all stay there longer without shelter, fire, food and water.

I've got a lot of things planned and hope you join me on this journey through Volume 6. Yes, there will be a few things altered from the original episodes. the secrets I mentioned will be explored and explained as good as I can.
