"Hey Kate, what's up?" The sound from the answer machine echoed throughout the apartment.

"I was wondering if maybe you could do something for me. Like a favor?" A groan was heard from the dining table.

"I know, I've asked too many favors from you, but this is the last one, I swear!" The girl sitting on the table, Kate, was lazily eating a cookie dough ice cream.

"Please, I just want you to listen, at least. I'll even give you something in return, if you agree to this favor." Kate stabbed the ice cream and left the spoon there and pushed the tube away. Then she dropped her head onto the table.

The message ended there and the next one started.

As the next one finished, she popped her head up in surprise.

Within the next few minutes, she had shoved the ice-cream tube in the freezer –mind you, with the spoon- and grabbed her jacket and shoes.

And then she bolted out the door, to her friend's house, thinking about the last message.

"I need you to make someone fall in love with you."

"What the hell is the meaning of this?"

The girl sitting on the couch blinked, "Of what?"

Kate rolled her eyes, "Stop playing dumb, Quinn. You know what I'm talking about."

"I would like to know as well, since you practically shoved me to the side when I greeted you at the door," A guy with brown hair and green eyes entered the room.

Quinn, the girl sitting on the couch, looked at the guy and said, "I'm pretty sure it's about Oliver, Ethan."

Then Ethan narrowed his eyes, "Oh."

"Oliver? As in the middle school Oliver, Oliver Light?" Kate asked.

Quinn looked back at Kate and said, "That's the guy."

"Didn't he come with us to the high school?" Kate asked.

"Yeah he did," Ethan said with a sour face, sitting down next to Quinn, "And I am not happy about that."

Then Kate narrowed her eyes, "Why? What's up with you two? Since when was he suddenly involved?"

"Apparently since two months ago." Quinn replied.

"What do you mean 'apparently'? And, wasn't that when you got together?"

"What she means is that," Ethan interjected, "Oliver started liking her, two months ago, when we got together."

"Yeah," Quinn said sadly but then she became angry, "and he's been trying to separate us, since then."

Kate was ticked off. She knew Ethan and Quinn were meant for each other, she was the one who set them up since neither of them were willing to confess first. And she did not like the fact that someone was trying to disrupt their relationship.

"What the hell is wrong with him? Can't he mind his own damn business? He should know to not like a taken girl," Kate said irritated at Oliver, "Why doesn't he just move on already."

Quinn let out a breath and then said, "That's where the favor comes in."

Kate eyes widened, "You want me to make him fall for me?"

Then Ethan turned towards Quinn, surprised, "you actually asked her to do that?"

Quinn nodded sadly as a reply.

Seeing as how sad Quinn was, Kate couldn't help but feel bad. She sighed and said, "Fine, I'll do it."

Both Ethan and Quinn looked up at her shocked.

"You will?!" Both of them said at the same time.

"Yes," Kate said, "I will fulfill the favor. But it is the last one! Last big favor I will be doing for you! Keep that in mind, Quinn."

Quinn smiled, "Thank you, thank you so much!"

Ethan then asked, "How will you do it?"

Kate looked thoughtful, "I don't know, but I'll figure it out."

Ethan nodded and smiled, "Thank you, Kate. I really like Quinn a lot, and I couldn't imagine what would happen if that Oliver stole her."

Quinn giggled, "He's never going to have me. I like you."

Kate groaned, "Stop it with the mushiness. I need to know why you need me to do this. Why he's a threat."

Quinn's face became serious as she motioned for Kate to sit down.

Then Quinn started, "I heard it from Lucas, he told me yesterday. It was when Ethan had gone to the bathroom when he told me. He started off with an apology and when I asked why he was apologizing he explained everything from how Oliver liked me and how he was planning on how he was planning on beating Ethan to a pulp." She was starting to tear up when she said the next line, "and how he wanted me to completely forget Ethan and start liking him and only him."

Then, Ethan pulled her to his chest and rubbed her head and whispered comforting words into her ear.

"Okay, then," Kate had a serious face on, "I need to start somewhere, now don't I?"

Then Quinn pulled apart from Ethan with tears smudged around her eyes and looked at Kate, "You can ask Lucas or maybe even Olivia, she wasn't really in good terms with her brother, but she might know something." She wiped her eyes.

"So I need to befriend Olivia Light to get to Oliver Light," Kate said, but then she groaned, "I feel like such a user."

"You don't have to use her, you can talk to her and know stuff or even Lucas, since he has good intentions. He still stays in Oliver's group because they've been best friends since elementary school."

"I guess, but what if something slips out? And if no one believes my acting?" Kate questioned in a challenging manner.

Quinn rolled her eyes and said, "Oh, please. You used to be in drama club and you've taken theatre class for two years. I'm definitely sure you can handle it."

Kate gave her a questing look but she didn't say anything on it.

"So, any info? On anything?" Kate asks, "You know I'm not the best in social situations and I don't really care about anything outside of my room, mostly. So, anything?"

"Well I did hear that Oliver plans on beating Ethan in exactly a week from now," Quinn replied, solemnly.

"Anything from you, Ethan?" Kate questioned.

"I heard he likes to go to the arcade on his day offs," Ethan said.

Kate narrowed her eyes, "How do you know that?"

Ethan shrugged, "I mean, just because I don't really talk to him doesn't mean I don't talk to him at all."

"I guess that's valid," Kate responded and then stood up.

"I should get going, I have someone that needs to fall for me."

Quinn stood up after her, "I'll walk you out."

As Kate was about to leave, she turned towards Quinn, "I have one last question before I head out."

Quinn grinned, "Shoot."

"What if I end up falling in love with him?"
