Rockabye

As the day rolled on, it just got worse and worse.
I wandered the grounds, searching for Dottie, but when I found her, all I could do was let out a bloodcurdling scream.
Death had decided to take her the hard way, she lay on the ground with blood oozing from every hole in her body, her teeth and eyes stained Crimson. There were scratch mark all over her body, as though she thought clawing at herself would dull the pain for a minute so she could die peacefully.
I have my guesses on how that worked out.
Her lifeless corpse started to grow mold, and fleas and flies started enjoying a feast of flesh.
All I could do was scream some more, and then proceed to vomit.
I'm pretty sure people aren't supposed to vomit blood, but at this point, the virus could do anything.
I sat there for hours, just brushing my fingers through her hair and fur.
My only friend was gone, just like that.

When the authorities found us, they examined our surroundings to find that the flowers in the garden were extremely toxic to werewolves, and tended to make sickness lethal, or speed up the process of painfully dying. When I heard this I went on an angry rampage through the bushes, which earned me some time in isolation, a small ward for the insane.
I had always wondered what it would feel like to wear a straight jacket, and how I couldn't wait to escape it.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Days went by as I just sat there. I got the occasional bowl of water and dry biscuit until they believed I was weak enough to be let out so I couldn't hurt anyone, I had become known for my punch around here.
As soon as I was let out, I ran straight for the wall, their wall where the guitarist was.
Would he had left because I wasn't talking to him?
But sure enough he was there, playing the same tune as he always did, lulling me into a trance. It calmed me, I didn't feel like punching anymore, just singing. So I did.

"She works the nights, by the water.
She's gonna stray so far away from our fathers daughter.
She just wants a life, for a baby.
No one will come she's got to save him.
She tells him, 'ooo love, no one's ever gonna hurt you love, I'm gonna give you all of my love, nobody matters like you hu hu!'
She tells him, 'your life, ain't gonna be nothing like my life, your gonna grow and have a good life, I'm gonna do what I got to do!'
So rockabye baby rockabye!
I'm gonna rock you!
Rockabye baby don't you cry!
Somebody's got you!
Rockabye baby rockabye!
I'm gonna rock you!
Rockabye baby don't you cry!
Rockabye!"

The music stopped.
I stopped and covered my mouth with embarrassment.

"Are you the girl from a few days ago? The one that always listens to my music?" He asked.

I froze.
"Ummmm..... Yes......"

"You have a beautiful voice, what are you doing in a place like this when you could be a superstar?!"

I blushed.
"I guess you don't know what this place is do you......."

"No...." He laughed. "I guess not....."

"It's a quarantine camp, for us unfortunate enough to have the virus, and you can't pretend you don't know what that is either."

I waited for him to respond, but he never did. As I waited, I heard the crinkling of paper and waited.
A perfectly folded paper airplane soared over the wall and land d in from of me. Quickly, I grabbed it and read it.
I heard footsteps running away.

I would say goodbye, but then they'd hear me.
The guards don't like me being here, but I have nothing better to do! 8D
If you meet me here after breakfast tomorrow i might have a new song for you. I hope you come, i'de like to get to know you a bit better.
             ~The guitarist

I smiled, I might have made a new friend, but he was gonna have to get used to the fact that I wouldn't be around much longer.
But I didn't have the heart to tell him, until it was too late......
