Chapter 1

A dark figure crossed the roof top of the Morgan estate. They were silent and made no sound. Even the attack guard dogs couldn't have heard, but they had caught the figures scent. Fortunately, the figure had been prepared and knocked the dogs out, so it didn't matter if the animals could hear anyway. Piercing green eyes scanned the roof and the figure edged to the ledge above. A smirk lifted one corner of the person's lips, balancing along the roof without a sound before they dropped to the balcony below. Pulling a lock picking kit out from an invisible pocket in the black skin-tight cat-suit, the figure easily unlocked the door.

"Pity. I thought you would be a harder target Morgan." Said the figure in a soft sarcastic tone. The voice obviously belonged to a female and she quickly entered the room.

The woman's green eyes scanned the room and she smirked when she saw some lovely jewels sitting on the dresser free for the taking. It was hard to resist the temptation, but she had one thing on her mind, and she would retrieve it and get the hell out of there.

Walking into the other room she frowned immensely seeing a man and woman in the bed. Both appeared to be naked, so she quickly averted her gaze. She needed to be as quiet as possible to avoid waking the man up. Dealing with the man clothed, was enough to ruin her day, dealing with him naked, she shuddered at the irritating thought.

Quietly she went over to the nightstand and slowly opened the drawer. She made no sound and silently sifted through the belongings in the drawer. Not finding what she was looking for she cursed silently and shut the drawer. She was about to move on, when a hand suddenly reached out and grabbed her wrist.

She turned in surprise and saw Morgan's cornflower blue eyes boring into her green ones. He looked angry and gripped her wrist hard so she couldn't pull away. He sat up and she had to force herself to keep her eyes on the man's face. Assuming he was naked sent a soft blush creep across her cheeks; thankfully it was hidden behind her black mask.

"If it isn't the Shadow Demon. I thought you were dead... oh that's right you are... Well, I know you're not a ghost..." He said blinking and looking down at her curvaceous body. "No, you're a woman." He acted like he didn't know her, when in fact he did. His family had been rivaling with hers for years. A grin then spread across his face before it quickly disappeared. "Get out of here, before you regret coming."

"I won't leave. Not without what I came for, you bastard." The woman hissed.

"Ah, you're looking for this..." With his free hand Sterling Morgan pulled out a locket and showed it to her. His eyes then went to hers as she watched the locket shining in the dim light of the room.

The woman in the bed moaned and shifted, Sterling frowned and glanced at her. While his attention was diverted, the thief grabbed the locket and then punched him as hard as she could in the face. Fortunately, he hadn't been expecting that and his grip loosened.

As soon as she was free the green-eyed thief rushed to the door where she had entered. Sterling immediately raced after her and grabbed her shoulder harshly, pulling her back. She stumbled, losing her balance, and fell to the floor. The next thing she knew she was looking up at Sterling, and he held a sword in his hand.

A smirk lit her face once again, and she breathed a sigh of relief to see he wasn't completely naked. He had a pair of superhero boxers on. "That's not quite fair Morgan." She whispered once again keeping her eyes trained on his face.

He smirked in return and offered her a sword from his collection hanging on his wall. She took it and jumped to her feet. Immediately she lunged at Sterling, while placing the locket in her top, the only place she had to hold it for the moment.

Sterling watched where she placed it and grinned, "It'll be fun getting it when I beat you."

"You're so full of yourself Morgan. If you weren't so damn cocky then you would still have the little trinket and be in bed with your lover."

With raised eyebrows he glanced into the other room, "Oh, she ain't my lover. She became disgusted with me after we took our clothes off. Pity... she would have left, but she wanted to sleep in my bed and at least say she slept with Sterling Morgan multi-billionaire... Funny, how women love to say they slept with me. Something you'll never be able to do." Sterling shrugged as if he didn't care, "But I will be getting that trinket back, if you don't mind."

"You're right Sterling. Thank God too! I wouldn't be caught dead in your bed!" She hissed and lunged at Sterling again. "And you will not be getting it back, I can assure you that."

He blocked her blow and they parried, dodged, and even managed to nick each other with the pointy blade. Sterling managed to gain the upper hand and pressed her back until he had her against a wall. He disarmed her and held her in place. "Now if you'd be so kind... or I could do it myself..." His gaze lowering to where she had placed the object.

Glaring green daggers at him, she lifted her head in defiance. He shrugged and caught her chin in his hand... "If you weren't such a pain in the ass Caz, I could easily fall for you. You're pretty enough at least."

That comment sparked her anger and she slapped him hard. He was taken by surprise at the force of her slap. He then saw her pull something out of an unseen pocket before it was injected into him. His eyelids grew heavy and he slumped to the floor out cold.

Her green eyes sparked as she glared down at the fallen man. "If one more guy tells me that, I'm gonna scream and possibly kill them!" Stepping over him, the woman chanced a glance over at the bed. Thankfully Sterling's fangirl hadn't awoken. She thanked her lucky stars for small blessings and then exited the room to head home.

It took about ten minutes to get home. Her car was one of the fastest of its kind and she loved it. It was her baby. It had black exterior and interior, with the latest in technology. Living in 2051 meant that technology had advanced tenfold. Arriving home, Cass parked and climbed up to her third-floor room. Ever since her father's death, she had been moved as far away from her step-mother as possible. Fortunately, she didn't mind, although she did miss the blue room her father had painted with her.

Reaching her room, she entered and quickly shimmied out of the black cat-suit. She slipped into an old t-shirt that had been her father's that fell to just above her knees and held the locket in hand while watching the light make the sapphire jewels shine. It was beautiful, but more importantly it had belonged to her mother. It had been stolen by the bloody Morgan family. Lately more things had ended up missing in the house and when the locket went missing, Cassy had been furious. The trinket was extremely important to her. It was one of the few precious possessions she had of her mother.

After a few moments of admiring the necklace, she moved to her dresser and set the trinket on the smooth wood. She then picked up her brush and brushed out her long blonde hair. Her hair curled slightly at the tips, but she didn't notice. For some reason she couldn't get Sterling's semi naked figure out of her mind. When there came a knock on the door, she jumped and dropped her brush in surprise.

"Caz? It's Bray... are you alright?" Called her brother. Apparently, he had heard her drop the brush...

Her thoughts were interrupted, and she sighed before going to the door and let her brother in.

Brayden sighed seeing that his sister was just fine and walked in with frown. "What's wrong Bray?"

"We have a problem Caz..." He then noticed the locket and smiled, "You got it back... well done."

"Thanks, Bray, but it wasn't easy. Sterling had it... "

Bray looked confused. What did it matter if Sterling had it? The Morgan's had quite a few things of theirs lately. Both he and Cassy had been more then a little irritated at how often their rival had managed to creep into their house.

"He was in his skivvies."

Ah, now that made sense. His sister may look like trouble walking and pretty much was, but she was completely innocent... well not completely. She had her moments, but she had never been with a man before. She had promised their father she would wait for the right man, the one she would spend the rest of her life with. He was proud of her.

"I hope you showed him a thing or two, Caz..."

"Of course, Brayden... In fact, he wasn't entirely conscious when I left..." Whispered Cassy sheepishly.

"Oh no... Caz, you didn't."

"I had no choice, Bray. It was that or..." She didn't finish, just averted her gaze.

Brayden sighed and placed his hand on his sister's shoulder... "It's alright then... I'd rather you use it and stay safe... but Sterling Morgan doesn't seem the sort to resort to force..."

"Maybe not, but he made me angry too..."

Brayden rolled his eyes knowing that his sister's anger tended to get the better of her. He had seen it in full swing, and it was scary, but also amusing. "Anyway, Caz... we have a problem. Another item is missing, mother's wedding ring... and Joel's 25th Birthday is on Saturday. If we don't go... well, I don't want to see you and Cruella argue again."

Cassy frowned at the news. Her mother's wedding ring was missing? Was it the Morgan's again? They normally didn't strike again so soon. This was getting ridiculous! And Joel's Birthday... She groaned softly and fell onto her bed. She despised her half-brother and step-mother even more, which was why the siblings called her Cruella or Witch or any other nickname they could think of befitting the evil woman. And Cassy hated parties even more. The music wasn't so bad, or the dancing, it was the outfits and the people she hated...

"Find out who took, mother's ring Bray... I want that back... As for the birthday... I guess I have no choice..."
