You Won't Believe This False Hope

They are really really stupid. These Orcs who have captured us. They listen blindly to their leader and I think they also wipe his ass for him, if he asks them to do so. I am bungling over his shoulder and I am starting to feel numb.

The only good thing about this is, that they haven't touched me, yet.

They are talking about it, I can hear them. They speak about me and it gives me shivers all over my body. Suddenly I am thrown onto the ground, Merry and Pippin are thrown down next to me as the orcs collapse with what looks like exhaustion. We are by the borders of some forest. 'We're not going no further till we've had a breather' One of the Orcs speaks up. 'Get a fire going!' Another demands. Several Orcs stand up and begin to break off branches from the trees. I look to the boys. Merry is unconscious, I hope. Pippin on the other hand is trying to crawl over to him with his hands bound. 'Merry! Merry!' He says with an panicked voice. Merry opens his eyes slightly and I escape the breath I was holding. 'I think we might have made a mistake leaving the Shire, Pippin' Is Merry's witty answer. I laugh quietly but I feel the gaze of the Orcs on me. 'Guys, how are you holding up?'

'My head still hurts' Is Merry's reaction. 'Mine too' I say while I try to feel the egg on the back of my head, not that it is possible to feel it with your hands bound. They hit me pretty hard. Our laughter dies down when we hear low groans from within the forest. 'What is making that noise?' I whisper. Merry looks towards the forest and he smiles. 'It's the trees'

What?

'What?' Asks Pippin. Thankyou. 'Do you remember the Old Forest, on the borders of Buckland? Folk used to say there was something in the water that made the trees grow tall...and come alive' Merry explains. 'Alive?' Pippin says with wide eyes. Another groan can be heard from the forest but the Orcs don't hear it. 'Trees that could whisper, talk to each other, even move' Merry adds. 'I'm starving. We ain't had nothing but maggoty bread for three stinking days' An Orc speaks up. Three days? We are running for three days now?

Some Orcs look to the ugly one who said it. They are all ugly but still, he is uglier. 'Yeah! Why can't we have some meat?!' Another one says as his eyes grow wide and with hunger at us. O no, nonono!

'What about them? They're fresh' He hisses. I try to look fearless, but in reality I am shitting my pants, again. 'They are not for eating' The commander says with a harsh voice.

Oh thankyou!

But an Orc walks over to us and let us roughly stand up and moves us to the side. The one who looks at us with hunger, follows every step we make. 'What about their legs? They don't need those. They look tasty' He hisses again and moves towards us. But the commander shoves him back to the other Orcs. 'Get back, scum!' Other ones spring forward and scowl at him. 'The prisoners go to Saruman. Alive and unspoiled' He adds.

Wait, Saruman... That was?

'Alive?' The hungry Orc states disappointment.
Yes alive, you fool. I am not going to be eaten today. He moves to another side so he can look at us. 'Why alive? Do they give good sport?' As he looks to his commander in hunger but the head Orc is unmoved. 'They have something. An Elvish weapon. The master wants it for the war'

They think one of us has the ring!

'They think we have the Ring' I whisper to the boys. But Merry shushes me. 'As soon as they find out we don't, we're dead' I nod and shut my mouth again. 'Just a mouthful. A bit of the flank' We hear suddenly and I look up. The Hungry Orc stands behind us, his sword raised. But luckily, if you can call that luck, the commander swings his sword and beheads the hungry one. 'Looks like meat's back on the menu, boys!' He announces and the Orcs begin cheer as the shove us aside and begin to tear at the dead Orc.

They eat their on kin. How disgusting.

'Let's go' Merry says and begins to crawl away. Quickly Pip and I follow. 'Boys I hiss. 'What is our exit strategy?'

'Our what?' Pippin whispers back. 'O my God, we are all going to die' If I could slap my own forehead, I did it. How are we escaping?

I shriek when a foot comes down on my back. The boys turn around and gasp. An Orc stand with his sword raised. 'Go on. Call for help'

O Bloody Hell No.

He grabs my face and pulls me closer. 'Let her go!' Pip cries out. 'Squeal. No one's gonna save you now' He says. Suddenly he makes a sound and falls down with me beneath him. I scream and push the dead Orc of me, only to see that a spear has pierced his back. Hundreds of horsemen burst into our camp, killing every Orc in their path. 'Boys!' I yell and starts crawling again towards the edge of the forest. The screams are overwhelming and I can hear metal clash on metal. Suddenly I am on top of a horse and I hear the boys scream. 'No!' I yell, but a firm hand holds my waist and again they hit my head with something heavy and all is black again.

Great a second egg...

I wake up from the thunder of the horses over the plains. 'Riders of Rohan, what news from the Mark?' I hear someone call out. Wait what? I blink a couple of times with my eyes to focus on my surroundings. But my head feels so heavy and my shoulder is stinging again. I sit with my hands bound behind a rider.

Great.

I can just see the horseman in the front, giving a signal with his spear and they all turn around only to charge at Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli!

They were searching for us!

The horsemen circle around the three men and stop while pointing their spears at them. Through the shock of the sudden stopped horse, I have to try my best to sit still and not to fall of the horse. The horseman who gave the signal, rides forward. 'What business does an Elf, a Man and a Dwarf have in the Riddermark? Speak quickly!' He addresses them. 'Give me your name, horse-master, and I shall give you mine' Gimli says defiantly. I can't help but chuckle but that my capturer don't like that and gives me a soft hit in my stomach.

I understand, I have to be quiet. Dickhead. The front horseman gives his spear to another rider and gets off his horse. Gimli gives an arrogant nod at the man's approach but Aragorn puts quickly a hand on Gimli's shoulder.

How I have missed them.

'I would cut off your head, beard and all, Master Dwarf, if it stood but a little higher from the ground' The man says. I growl but again I am hit in my stomach. Legolas nods an arrow and point it at the man. 'You would die before your stroke fell' He hisses angry at the man.

Yes Leggy!

Aragorn lowers Legolas his bow. 'I am Aragorn, son of Arathorn. This is Gimli, son of Glóin and Legolas of the Woodland Realm. We are friends of Rohan and of Théoden, your king' Aragorn addresses the man quickly. 'Théoden no longer recognizes friend from foe' The horseman says while removing his helmet. 'Not even his own kin' He says sadly. The other horsemen withdraw their spears. 'Saruman has poisoned the mind of the  king and claimed lordship over these lands. My company are those loyal to Rohan. And for that, we are banished' He tells the three.

'The White Wizard is cunning. He walks here and there, they say, as an old man hooded and cloaked. And everywhere, his spies slip past our nets' He adds, accusingly. 'We are no spies. We track a party of Uruk-Hai westward across the plain. They have taken three of our friends captive' Aragorn says calmly not impressed by the warning the horsemen gave seconds before. 'The Uruks are destroyed. We slaughtered them during the night' Is his replay. Gimli springs forward. 'But there were two Hobbits. Did you see two Hobbits with them? And a Lassie!' He states desperately. 'They would be small. Only children to your eyes. The Woman is young, with blue eyes and blonde hear' Aragorn describes us. 'We left none alive. We piled the carcasses and burned them' The horseman says while shaking his head. The three look in shock at the man. 'Dead?' Gimli mutters.

'I am not dead!' I yell and move wildly. To wild, so I fall with a loud thud on the ground. Aragorn rushes over to me. 'You look-'

'Beautiful, I know. Can we move on?' I say with a smile. Aragorn grins and makes me loose. I throw my arms around his neck and he embraces me back with all his might. 'I thought we had lost you' He whispers only for me to hear. 'You can't lose me that easily'

'We plucked the woman of the ground, but she kept fighting that is why we bound her' The man sounds like he is sorry. 'And you knocked me out' I yell. Some horsemen start to laugh. Aragorn shakes almost invisible his head. 'Lassie!' Gimli and Legolas also rush over. 'We thought-' He starts, but I cut him off while hugging him. 'I am okay guys' I say when the look at me dumb folded. 'Really' Aragorn nods. 'I am sorry' The horseman says again. I nod my head. 'I fact, I have to thank you guys, if you haven't captured me, I was dead. For sure' The man smiles. Than he turns and whistles. 'Hasufel! Arod!' Two beautiful steeds move to the forefront. 'May these horses bear you to better fortune than their former masters. Farewell' He says and puts his helmet on and returns to his own horse. 'Look for your friends. But do not trust to hope. It has forsaken these lands' He states. He turns to his men. 'We ride north!' The horsemen quickly ride off and disappear to the North. We all look toward the smoldering pile. 'They were alive the last time I saw them. We were trying to get into the forest'

'Let's go' Gimli says as he tries to get on Arod. Aragorn climbs on Hasufel and gives me a hand so I sit behind him. Legolas climbs in front of Gimli and so we ride to the place I saw the boys.

I hope they live.

Please let them live!
