Why, What, How?

Frodo.. He just disappeared in front of my very own eyes.

That's it, I know what this is. I am dreaming. That is it, what else can it be?

I look to the other three 'Hobbits'. Sam looks sick, Pip and Merry looking sober and the inn erupts into excited mumbling.

Great.

'Where is Frodo?' I hiss to the boys. The look at me in confusion and fear. 'Wait, look over there!' Sam point to the stairway. The cloaked stranger from before, the one who sat in the corner, drags Frodo away. 'We have to help him!' Pippin cries out and hurries after Frodo. I look at Sam and Merry and without a word, we follow Pippin upstairs. We rush upstairs and see the stranger pushing Frodo into a room. I grasp Pippin arms. 'Wait' I hiss. 'We need something to defend ourselves. Merry grasps a candelabra from a cupboard in the hall. Pippin disappears into a room and comes back with a chair. I decide my own hands are enough and so does Sam. 'Boys, at three we storm into the room' I say and we walk towards the door. 'One, two, three' I count down and Sam opens the door. We bursts inside.

The stranger is a really, really handsome guy.

He has blue greyish eyes and brown hair. He looks like an outlaw.

'Let him go or I'll have you, Longshanks!' Sam yells, squaring his fists. The man sheaths his sword with a smile back. 'You have a stout heart, little Hobbit, but that alone will not save you Frodo. They're coming' He addresses Sam and turns to Frodo, who looks suddenly very afraid.

Who are coming?

The man sees the confusion on my face and looks at me. He looks puzzled but still he grasps my wrist and drags me to another room. The boys follow quietly. He pushes us into the room and disappears for a few minutes. But he is back and orders the boys to sleep into the bed what is standing against the wall. 'Go sit in the chair and try to sleep my Lady. I keep watch' He orders me and I look towards a chair, standing in front of the fireplace, the fire is dying slowly. 'My name is Sara' I sneer at the man, not trusting him. But I still do what he says because Frodo seem to trust him.

I just want to go home.

I wake with a start. A loud shriek filled with rage fills the air. 'What are they?' I hear Frodo ask and stand up from the chair. The fire is burning again and my clothes and coat are dry. Frodo is standing with the man by the window. Sam, Merry and Pippin are sitting on the edge of the bed and they look very afraid. 'They were once Men' The man says. Did he introduces himself? Or, I know his name...

Strider, that is his name, the Inn's keeper told us before.

I see Strider glance at me, but quickly looks away. 'Great kings of Men. Then Sauron the Deceiver gave to them Nine Rings of Power. Blinded by their greed they took them without question, one by one falling into darkness. Now they are slaves to his will' He continues and looks again out of the window. I hear horses galloping away. 'They are the Nazgûl, Ringwraiths, neither living nor dead. At all times they feel the presence of the Ring ... drawn to the power of the One ... They will never stop hunting you.'

'Who is Sauron the Deceiver? And which ring' I ask Strider quietly. He looks again at me like if I am mad. 'You are not from around here? Are you?' He looks at me in suspicious. I shake my head. 'No I am from England'

'Eng-land?' He says in difficulty. 'Yes... Do you maybe know how I get there?' He shakes his head. 'But I know someone who can help you'

'Where are you taking us?' Frodo asks Strider when we walk through the forest. Sam leads our pony Bill. Yes we have pony.

And I don't know why I am doing this or why I am trusting this Strider outlaw guy.. But I want to go home and if he know someone who can explain to me why all people are crazy here.. be my guest!

'Into the Wild' Strider answers Frodo and marches further. I watch strider move off into the cover of trees. 'How do we know this Strider is a friend of Gandalf?' I hear Merry whisper next to me. 'I think a servant of the enemy would look fairer and feel fouler' Frodo replies and I can see him smile. 'He's foul enough' Merry adds. 'We have no choice but to trust him' Frodo states and marches on. 'But where is he leading us?' Sam calls out from behind. Strider stops and we all stand still. He glances back at Sam. To Rivendell, Master Gamgee ... to the house of Elrond' Strider answers and walks further. Sam looks suddenly really excited. 'Did you hear that, Bill? Rivendell! We're going to see the Elves!'

Elves!?

'Can someone please tell me where I am and what the actual hell is going on!' I mutter. 'I bring you to that someone' Strider replies and I can hear the laugh in his voice.

So he thinks this is funny?

Strider leads us further into the 'wilds' and at noon we walk across the windswept moor. Suddenly the boys around me stop and unstrap their bags. 'Strider!' I call out. He stops and turns around. 'Gentlemen, we do not stop till nightfall' He says and turns back around again. 'What about breakfast? Pippin cries out. Strider turns back at the boys and I can see his irritation growing. 'You've already had it' He simply says. 'We've had one, yes ... what about second breakfast?' Pippin fires back. Strider stares at Pippin blankly and then turns away. I can see him shaking his head. 'Guys' I warn them. 'I don't think he knows about second breakfast, Pip' Merry says while he is getting his bag ready again. 'What about Elevenses, Luncheon, Afternoon tea, dinner ... he knows about them, doesn't he?' Pippin stutters. Merry shakes his head. 'I wouldn't count on it'

'Seriously how many times a day are you eating?'

'Four, five times a day' Sam calls out from behind, earning a laugh from Frodo. 'Ow' Is all I say before an apple is thrown at my face, but luckily I catch it. Merry catches also his apple but Pippin catches him on the forehead. 'Pippin' Merry says a bit disapproving. I chuckle at the two.

Pippin!

We walk for days and I learn that 'Middle Earth' has a lot of different kind of people. Like the people of Rohan and Gondor. But you have also Lake town. There are dwarves and shape shifters and elves and Dunédain people. But I cannot understand how I came here. And where here is. I hope that Strider speaks the truth and brings us to Rivendell, the mystic city of the Elves.

'What do they eat when they can't get Hobbit' Merry whines while he slaps the swarming insects away. We walk through a swampland and for me and strider it is a lot more easy than our hobbits. 'Me' I answer him while I try to slap the insects away from my face.

When I am home, if I get home, no one is going to believe me.

Night falls and a full moon rises. We are sitting down in the middle of an open plain in the midst of the forest. The boys are sleeping besides a dying fire while strider insisted to keep watch.

Like someone is going to creep up on you.. you have police you know.

Now I think about it, I have not seem them yet with a phone or so... there really cosplaying.. if they are really cosplaying.

Oh bagger.

I stir and turn on the dry grass. I can't sleep.

'Tinúviel elvanui, Elleth alfirin ethelhael O hon ring finnil fuinui A renc gelebrin thiliol'

(Tinúviel the elven-fair, Immortal maiden elven-wise, About him cast her night-dark hair, And arms like silver glimmering) Strider is singing quietly to himself and I have to admit, is sounds beautiful in his language.

It is definitely not French. Maybe Norse of Danish?

'Who is she? This woman you sing of?' I hear Frodo whisper to Strider. He stops singing. ''Tis the lady of Lúthien. The Elf-maiden who gave her love to Beren, a mortal' He answers sadly.

'What happened to her?' Frodo adds. 'She died' Is his answer and he signs. 'Get some sleep Frodo' And with that their conversation is over. I hear that Frodo lies down again.

He sounds so sad... Maybe he sings over his love, his Tinúviel.

I want someone like that to someday.

A sting of pain flashes through me. The sadness overwhelms me. I had someone like that. But he betrayed me..

I feel the tears roll down over my cheeks, falling in the grass beneath me.

I just want to go home.
