This Is Too Intense

'By the order of king Théoden, each elder, woman and child have to go into the caves' Gamling announces. In a mass organized movement, the people of Rohan gather their belongings and trudge together into hiding. Soldier assist the elderly and infirm in getting themselves into the caves. I on the other hand walk with the boys along the battlements as Aragorn explains his plan to us. 'We'll place the reserves along the wall. They can support the archers from above the gate' He looks like he is to fall asleep every moment now. 'Aragorn, you must rest. You're no use to us half alive' Legolas says.

Thank you!

But of course Aragorn pays Legolas no mind. 'Aragorn! Aragorn!' Éowyn's yells his name and I look into her direction. She runs through the crowds towards us. 'I'm to be sent with the women into the caves' She says angry. She turns to me and looks up and down but she says nothing. 'That is an honorable charge' Aragorn nods tiredly. 'To mind the children, to find food and bedding with the men return. What renown is there in that?' Aragorn looks at me and I smile courageous at him. He takes her hands. 'My lady, a time may come for valor without renown. Who then will your people look to in the last defense?' He says reassuringly. 'Let me stand at your side' She pleads and again she looks at me.

I thought we were friends?

'It is not in my power to command it'

'But she is here' Éowyn snaps at me. Aragorn lets go of her hands. 'Because she is here with me. Sara belongs to our Fellowship' Aragorn states, sounding annoyed. 'And I, where do I stay?'

In the caves maybe?

'You do not command the others to stay! They fight beside you because they would not be parted from you. Because they love you!' She pleads desperately. Aragorn looks at her and then back at me. I shiver from his gaze.

He said he loved me, was falling in love with me..

'I'm sorry' Éowyn says and looks at me. I shake my head and look away from her. 'I am sorry' Éowyn says again and I know she meant that for me. She pushes past Aragorn and follows her people into the caves. I let out a breath. But Aragorn doesn't pay attention to her anymore. He is already walking towards the armory room. I see mothers saying goodbyes to their sons, wives to their husbands. Even old men and boys are drafted into service.

What is Théoden thinking?

Swords are also passed out to the boys and men. Aragorn takes on and examines it. But he tosses it away. He turns around in anger. 'Farmer, farriers, stable boys. These are no soldiers!' He hisses. 'Most have seen too many winters' Gimli says looking around. 'Or too few' Legolas adds. And Aragorn nods. 'Look at them' I say as I look to the young boys. 'They're frightened. I can see it in their eyes' Legolas adds and he turns away in anger. 'Boe a hûn...neled herain...dan caer menig!'

'Si beriathar hýn. Amar nâ ned Edoras' Aragorn says as he turns to Legolas. 'Aragorn, Men i ndagor. Hýn ú-...ortheri. Natha daged aen!' Legolas yells.

Where are they talking about?

'Hey! Don't yell in a language I don't understand!' I sneer at hem. Aragorn looks at me and then back to Legolas. 'Then I shall die as one them!' Aragorn explodes and they lock eyes for a moment. But Aragorn breaks it and walks away. He grabs my wrist and drags me with him. I see that Gimli puts a hand on Legolas its arm. 'Let him go, lad. Let him be' He hushes.

Aragorn drags me with him towards the battlement. We stand at some corner, looking over the plains but no men are here, yet. I pull myself free from his dead grip. 'What was that all about?' I hiss at him. He looks at the ground. 'Legolas said that we are never going to win'

'That is understandable. I mean, Aragorn, look at them! Boys and old men! How we are going to win, tell me how!' The fear is taking over. My voice falters. 'Hey, hey' Aragorn takes my face firmly in his hands. 'Look at me' I do wat I am told. 'I have hope we are going to win this' He reassures me. 'Why are you here then? I do not believe that the Valar send you to us, only to die in a fight before it all ends..'

'Do you think so?' I can hear the tears in my voice.

Yeah I am emotional unstable! Way to go girl. One plus point, Aragorn has all his hope vested in me.

Yeah me.

I swallow. 'How do you have faith in me?' Aragorn smiles lovingly at me and my hearts skips a beat. 'Because I love you'

There, he said it again!

I know my eyes are swollen by the unfallen tears as he embraces me. I look right into his eyes and he only smiles. 'But, why? Why would you love me?' He tightens his grip, pulling me more snugly into his embrace. 'Because you bug me, weirdo. Duh' I laugh at his words, words that I taught him. He smirks. 'I love you Sara, because of who you are. The girl with her bravery and yes you make me crazy sometimes, with your comments. But I love you as a whole' This time I can hold the tears back and they fall freely from my eyes. He comes closer so our lips are almost touching. 'I love you' And then he kisses me. He pulls back, still smirking. 'I love you' And he kisses me again. And all the time, I am breathless. When he pulls back again, I breathe deeply in. 'I love you too' I whisper and the smile he gives me is the most beautiful I have ever seen.

Aragorn and I return together to the armory. I know I wear a Mithril vest, but I still want a chain mail. Aragorn helps me into the thing and I help him. I turn to pick up his sword, but Legolas is faster and hands it to him. Aragorn looks up as Legolas stands before him. He takes the sword and nods in thanks. I smile.. This is good.

'We have trusted you this far. You have not led us astray. Forgive me. I was wrong to despair' But Aragorn shakes his head. 'Ú-moe edhored, Legolas'

Is it okay now?

They smile at each other so I think they are good again. I look up to the sound of metal on metal. Gimli wrestles with a shirts of chain mail. 'We had time, I'd get this adjusted' He says and I chuckle.

Oh Gimli

He gets the shirt on, and drops the bundle to the floor. It lands in a heap. 'It's a little tight across the chest' We all nod in agreement as a horn sounds from outside. 'That is no Orc horn!' Legolas says as he turns to the sound. He runs out of the armory, with us on his heels. 'Open the gate!' Soldiers scream and the gate opens. An army of supermodels comes into view.

Théoden walks past us, his mouth drops open in surprise. Now I see that this are Elves. A elf with long black hair in his armour leads the Elves to the king and bows his head in respect. 'How is this possible?' Théoden stammers. 'I bring word from Elrond of Rivendell. An alliance once existed between Elves and Men. Long ago we fought and died together' The elf says and he notices us. He smiles at Aragorn and Legolas. 'We come to honor that allegiance' He adds. Aragorn steps forward. 'Mae govannen, Haldir' He says happily.

Haldir is his name then.

Haldir extends his hand to greet Aragorn but the man grabs Haldir in a huge embrace. I chuckle om the Elf's stunned face but hugs Aragorn back. 'You are most welcome' Aragorn adds as he release the Elf. Now Legolas steps forward and they clasp each other on the shoulder as a greeting. I hear Gimli grunt. I hush him. 'We are proud to fight alongside Men once More' Haldir says to Théoden as the king also nods his head in respect.

Now it is time to take our place at the battlements. Night has fallen and when I look into the distance, all I see is nothing.

Seriously, is dark out there.

Legolas, Gimli and I stand by the wall, behind us stands a complement of archers, who are under orders of Aragorn. I chuckle everything when I look at Gimli. Because our dear Dwarf can't be seen; only his helmet is just visible over the edge of the wall. 'You could have picked a better spot' Gimli sneers at us and Legolas smirks. I feel his hand squeeze my shoulder and I turn so I can face him. Aragorn stands beside us, looking also into the dark of the night. 'Well lad, whatever luck you live by, let's hope it lasts the night' Gimli says to Aragorn.

I hope it too.

Suddenly lightning flashes and I can hear the thunder rolling. As the lightning illuminates the light, it reveals the approaching creatures.

Uruk-Hai as Gimli told me before.

Bloody Hell.

'Your friends are with you, Aragorn' Legolas says, but I hear the unsureness in his voice. 'Let's hope they last the night' Gimli says with a sarcastic tone.

And sure, it also begins to rain. Or better said, a flood is coming down, as the heaves have opened there taps.

The Uruks are coming closer and closer and a shiver runs down my spine. We are standing unmoved, looking to the sea of creatures who are approaching us in silent. Only their footsteps can be heard. Aragorn turns me around and lifts my chin up, so I look right at him. 'Stay with Legolas and Gimli. Stay save! I will find you as it begins' I smile a little. 'Please Aragorn, I can fight'

'I know that, but I can't lose you' And he kisses me firmly. 'Ha! I knew it!' Gimli says enthusiastic and Legolas rolls his eyes, but also he is smiling. I pull away from Aragorn and he lets me go. He moves to the ranks of the elven archers. 'When this is over, you have to pay' I hear Gimli say.

What?

'Fine' Legolas sighs. 'You bet? You two were betting at the moment we were going to kiss?' I say a bit annoyed. The boys grin. 'The elf here thought that you were going to kiss on the moment he came through the gate and I said that it was going to happen after or in the middle of the battle' Gimli says proudly.

They are such dorks.

I shake my head but I have to admit, this is funny. 'A Eruchîn, ú-dano i faelas a hyn ... an uben tanatha le faelas!' Aragorn screams at the soldiers. I look towards Legolas. 'He says we have to show no mercy' Legolas translates for us. Oh, greet. I wasn't planning to' A roar sounds over the field before us and the Uruks stop with their march. Gimli jumps. 'What's happening out there?' I chuckle. 'Shall I describe it to you?' He looks at Gimli with a grin. 'Or would you like me to find you a box?' Gimli laughs as answer. Again a roar sounds and the entire army of the Uruks begins to pound their spears on the ground.

It is horrific. The sounds gives me goosebumps all over.

I am not made for this, not for battle, not for killing!

'I don't know if you gentlemen pray, but if you do, now would be a good time' I say with a shaky voice. Legolas locks eyes with me. 'They are watching over us Sara. We are here. Don't be afraid' I want to answer him, that I know they are here but suddenly something flies towards the Army of the Uruks. 'Dartho!' Aragorn yells. But an Uruk groans and collapse to the ground. Someone roars and thrusts his sword forward, the others roar in respond and begin with running towards the wall. 'Tangado halad!' I hear Aragorn scream as I look with big eyes to what is happening. 'Faeg i-varv dîn na lanc...a nu ranc' I hear Legolas yell. 'Leithio i philinn!' Aragorn screams again and the archers behind me release their arrows and they find their marks. But with every Uruk-Hai that falls others replace him. 'Did they hit anything?' Gimli asks us as he jumps up and down in impatiently. 'Send them to me! Come on!' He roars. But volley after volley of arrows are launched and they hit every time their marks. But the Uruks fire back and men and Elves fall of the walls. Suddenly the Uruks are coming with ladders and mount them against the wall. I see that Aragorn also looks down. 'Pendraid!' At this Gimli jumps with glee. 'Good' He says in excitement. The ladders are raised against the wall and the Uruks begin to climb up. I take my sword out of my sheath.

I am ready.

'Swords! Swords!' Aragorn yells and I hear the Elves draw their sword. The first Uruk comes of the wall and Gimli is the first to kill. But now it really begins, the Uruks begin pouring over the wall and men and Elves are fighting with them.

An Uruk comes after me, but I slain him with one move. He falls down in front of my feet. He gurgles but after that he is dead. I have no time to turn around of to look where Legolas and Gimli are because another Uruk is already standing next to me. He smiles but I duck and stab him in his stomach. He moves again, trying to hit me in my lower belly or something, but I jump aside and stab him again in his stomach.

I went from a girl who didn't know how to kill to one who knew how to make dying hurt.

I turn around and see Gimli, holding two fingers up towards Legolas. 'Legolas! Two already!' He yells with glee. 'I'm on seventeen!'

'I'll have no pointy-ear outscoring me!' Gimli yells outraged as he turns and fells another Uruk who was climbing over the wall. Legoals is firing more arrows at the creatures. 'Nineteen!' Legolas answers.

Such dorks.

I forget all time and everything goes automatic again. My vision isn't red, but still. I keep killing, I keep stabbing and rolling and moving.

Breathe in and breathe out.

'Na fennas!' I hear Aragorn suddenly scream and the Elvish archers turn and fire at the Uruk on the causeway. They have made a turtle formation to move to the wall, but why?

The Elves keep firing at the formation, but the Uruks keep their advance. I look down again as I slice another Uruk dead. Two Uruks carry a spiked ball towards the sluice gate and place it. Now another Uruk, armed with a torch, is running towards the gate.

Is he?

'Togo hon dad, Legolas!' Aragorn yells towards Legolas and Legolas fires several arrows at the Uruk, but he continues to run. 'Dago hon! Dago hon!' Aragorn yells again but whit a massive explosion I am blown of the wall, falling down into the blackness.
