Chapter One: Morning Mojo
(After the intro...)
The next day brought a sense of worry and confusion to the young pilot. He woke up, the sun shining through his window. He sat up and sighed. The plan his girlfriend offered drew him in. It began to make him wonder if he was actually doing the right thing. This was going beyond what she said previously, and it could change what happens next dramatically. He knew that he had to be careful with this. So with that, he hopped out of bed to start his day.
He began to knock on the bathroom door. When no one responded, he was about to enter. The sound of a certain family member's voice in that room gave him his answer on if anyone was actually in there and who it was. It caused the young freshman to grunt a little in frustration. He was literally the only person in the house who would take this long. It made no sense considering he was one of the first ones up.
"Mark are you done yet?!" Ryan yelled.
"No! Come back later!" His brother responded.
"Dude come on! You've been in there forever! I got school too ya know!" Ryan shouted.
"Well I'm not going looking like crap! I gotta get it right!" Mark responded.
"Your the only person I know that takes an hour in the bathroom to style his hair and finish his morning compliments!" Ryan remarked.
"You already know I do this everyday! Deal with it! You'll get your turn!" Mark retorted.
The fifteen year old rolled his eyes. He tried to shove the door open, but his older brother blocked the door with his body. The male technopath was growing more impatient. He took this as an opportunity to use his abilities. By doing so, the former jock's phone shocked him in his pocket. The sudden force of electricity up against his leg caused the egotist to jump. He glared from the inside.
"Not cool bro!" Mark shouted.
His brother shrugged.
"My bad. It was a glitch." Ryan told him with a slight smirk reaching his face.
A few more minutes had passed and the mechanic was still inside the bathroom. His younger sibling decided to use his powers as an advantage once again. He tapped into his phone again and went on YouTube. He searched up the ultimate song that drove his older brother insane. Once he found the video, he clicked play. The song began to start as the sixteen year old paused. He cringed and nearly flipped his lid.
"No! Uh uh! Dingus, knock it off!" Mark roared.
The song continued as he tried to turn it off. The pause button wasn't working, curdesy of his younger brother tampering with his device. He turned up the volume for an extra kick.
"I'm serious! Shut it down!" Mark demanded.
Ryan was too busy cracking up to listen. Not too much later, he heard footsteps coming. The pilot turned around to see his mom. She stopped when she heard yelling and walked up to her son.
"What's going on?" Grace asked.
"I hate this song!!" Mark screamed.
Ryan looked at his mom.
"A little revenge." He told her.
"What did you do?" Grace questioned him.
Her kid bit his lip somewhat mischieviously.
"He wouldn't get out the bathroom so I messed with his phone." Ryan explained.
"What song did you choose?" Grace inquired.
"You know the one by Carly Rae Jepsen?" Ryan quizzed.
Grace shook her head.
"Honey, you know how he feels about that song. He hated it ever since-"
"Don't talk about it!" Mark yelled.
Ryan and Grace shared a laugh.
"How'd you get it stuck on replay?" She questioned.
"Eh, let's just say I have a gift." Ryan replied.
His brother busted out of the bathroom. His upset reaction caused a few more giggles to escape Grace's mouth. Ryan had to try, but failed, to hold back his laughter as well. His older brother gave him the phone.
"Turn it off." Mark ordered.
Ryan had the grin still plastered on his face as he grabbed the little device away from the sixteen year old. He turned around and used his powers to fix the problem. It only took a few seconds for him to do so. Once he finished, he turned back around and gave his brother the phone back. Mark kept staring at him as Ryan couldn't stop smiling.
"There you-"
"I hate you." Mark interrupted him.
Ryan began laughing again as his brother walked away. Grace had a smile on her face too. She looked back at her son.
"That was mean." Grace told him.
"A little." Ryan agreed.
His mom nodded. She whispered in his ear.
"I'm gonna need to learn that little trick for when your father visits." Grace added.
She walked away from her youngest son. Ryan chuckled. That's when a thought popped into his brain. How did he do that? He couldn't even see the phone from the other side. Has his power grown to that level? The pilot had pushed that thought aside only because he had to get to school soon. He headed inside the bathroom now that it was free. He would figure this out later, but not while he's still dirty.

Bay City East High opened, letting all the kids in. Students began to fill up the hallways as teachers were clocking in. Spyder was already at his locker. He placed his bag inside and shut it. Another face had popped up behind him. She tapped the jokester on his shoulder, causing him to turn around.
"Hi Spyder."
The daredevil smiled at the person who greeted him.
"Hey Paige." Spyder replied.
"So, did you hear what's going on?" The sweet young lady asked.
"No what?" Spyder questioned.
"Seth Harper is alive. The news said he was last spotted near the Bay. After that, they said that he could still be lurking around the city." Paige informed him.
Spyder nodded.
"Oh yeah that. Yeah, I heard about it. It's crazy." He stated.
Paige nodded. The fifteen year old already knew this ahead of time. That's obvious to us, but not the school.
"You think he might try to destroy the world again?" Paige inquired worried.
"Probably, but Mech X4 beat him once. It'll do it again." Spyder reassured her.
"Are you sure?" Paige posed.
"Totally." Spyder responded confidently.
His friend took a breather and smiled. Her smile had the daredevil kind of nervous. Paige was a very sweet girl and whether he was good at hiding it or not, he did really like her. The two continued to chat as Harris quickly went through the school doors. He looked around and caught his friend. The little genius quickly made his way towards him. He stopped when he saw the person he was talking to. The well dressed freshman took the time to watch.
"By the way, I wanted to thank you." Paige mentioned.
"For what?" Spyder wondered.
"Helping me with that poster. The bake sale went great. People loved it." Paige told him.
"Oh that. Yeah, t-that was nothing. I mean, I do have art skills." Spyder retorted while stuttering a bit.
Harris took note of that as he continued to listen.
"Yeah well, it was really big. I couldn't of even finished it without you. I would've saved you a cupcake, but the school kind of ate them all." Paige added in.
"That's okay. Your cupcakes are really good. That's why I pushed some people out of the way to get one." Spyder answered back.
Paige giggled.
"Sammy told me about that. I can't believe you tackled a jock." She remarked.
"Well ya know, Bradley had it coming. He did steal one of my cookies." Spyder defended himself.
The cheerleader shook her head.
"What? Your cupcakes are worth it. If I gotta tackle somebody to the ground to get one, then I'll do it." Spyder joked.
"Your crazy Spyder." Paige told him.
"Hey, you know I like crazy." Spyder retorted.
The young female smiled at him once more. The two shared a moment of complete silence. The way that they looked at each another was a bit goofy on the freshman's part and a bit lovable on the sophomore's part. It perfectly balanced out the clear affection between the two. But after a few more seconds of this, they both realized it became weird and kind of creepy.
"Well, I should go find Shelby. She owes me a few bucks since I paid for her smoothie last time." Paige spoke up, breaking the moment.
Spyder nodded.
"Yeah, you should do that. I know how it feels to lose money." He said.
"I told you I gave you back your $20!" Harris remarked, making his presence noticeable.
Spyder looked at him and shook his head in disbelief.
"$20 bill stealer." He accused.
Harris had his turn at shaking his head.
"Bye Spyder." Paige finished.
She walked off to catch up with her friend. The young genius took her place as the cheerleader was no longer to be seen. Harris nodded.
"Wow, you guys really have something." He stated.
Spyder looked at him.
"No we don't. She doesn't even like me." He disagreed.
"Are you kidding? She totally likes you." Harris argued.
"She's nice to everybody man." Spyder spoke to him.
"And she's single. Go for it!" Harris encouraged him.
"I'll go for it as soon as you and Ver-"
"We don't have anything!" Harris shut him up.
Spyder chuckled.
"Oh buddy, for someone so smart, everyone but you knows that you guys have something." He failed to agree.
Harris rolled his eyes. The sound of wheels rolling caught their attention. The young pilot was skateboarding down the hallway. That was his main transportation for today since the little incident in the bathroom got him kicked out of the Mark mobile. He didn't take it to heart considering that it wasn't the first time he was kicked out. The skateboarding freshman zoomed past his friends. While doing that, he quickly texted them.
Can't talk now. Gotta be somewhere. We'll chat later.
Both boys received the text and glanced at one another.
"Where's he going?" Spyder asked.
"It might have something to do with Ryley. We should go and check it out." Harris answered back.
"Isn't that spying?" Spyder questioned.
Harris nodded. The jokester smirked.
"Let's do it." He decided.
