The taste of your lips

~Flashback to Kakashi's play~

Young Kakashi: "I won't let you harm the princess!"

Some kid who's playing the villain: "Ha! Like I care about that!"

Kakashi: "Then you'll have to go through me first!"

Some kid: "That's fine by me! I'll take you down easily!"

They both rush in towards each other for a pretend battle that's part of the play. Everything was rehearsed well to make it look believable enough as a real battle but without anyone actually getting injured. In this moment both of the actors were running with their kunai knifes in hands, ready to have a battle with them, when suddenly a piece of cloth from the costume that was a bit too big for the young actor tangled itself over Kakashi's leg and made him trip. The boy started to fall while he still had his arm that held the knife stretched out at the pretend enemy, who at the moment was already in a close proximity with young Kakashi, causing the kunai to stab into the poor boys shoulder slicing it and making the blood pour out of the wound. This incident caused unrests among the viewers and of course the actors. Therefore, the play was cancelled and the injured kid was rushed to the infirmary leaving Kakashi feeling guilty and getting scolded.

~Present time~

"A play... Hokage requested a play for the upcoming festival and I am supposed to be the lead actor... And on top of that I have to spread the word about that to other shinobi... Why do I always get stuck with such responsibilities?" Iruka sighs as he walks back home.

"Yo. What's with the sighs? Did something happen?" A voice comes from behind Iruka's back.

As he turns back he notices it's Kakashi. "Oh, it's you Kakashi. Well, it's nothing serious... Just that I got the lead role for a play and on top of that I need to invite others to it. Oh! Speaking of which, maybe I can invite you then?"

Kakashi pauses for a short second before quickly answering. "No thanks."

Iruka's face slightly clouds up at the gotten response before he quickly realizes something. "May I ask if it is because of that accident from that play?"

"No. I'm just not interested, that's all." Kakashi simply replys.

"I feel like you really should give it a try. As I know, since then you haven't been to any plays at all. This could be your chance to get over what happened."

"Sorry, I'm still not interested." Kakahi jumps up in a tree and then disappears.

"I guess then I'll have to change your mind." Iruka mumbles out as he watches Kakashi leaving.

For the past week Iruka keeps trying to convince Kakashi to go to the play but with no avail.

"Okay, this time I'll convince him for sure! He won't escape me!" Iruka proclaims to himself as he hids behind a door waiting for Kakashi to walk up to it for the right moment to jump out in front of him. "Just a little bit closer, a little bit closer." He mumbled to himself as he listened to Kakashi's footsteps. "Now!" Iruka quickly opened the door and jumped out from the room hoping to get Kakashi by surprise. To his misfortune he calculated things wrongly. Therefore, he bumped into Kakashi and they both started falling down.

As he was falling backwards because someone ran into him, Kakashi closed his eyes. Once he was already laying on the floor with this someone on top of him, the white haired man opened his eyes to see what exactly happened. As his eyes quickly looked over the situation he noticed that the man on top of him had brown hair put up in a pony tail, but that's when Kakashi realized that this man's lips are pressed to his tough the only thing that actually separated them was his mask.

Iruka also had closed his eyed while falling and now finally opened them to be met with Kakashi's face right in front of him and realizing that now they both seem to be kissing. The brown haird man's face quickly heated up into a blush as he squirmed to get up from Kakashi. "I-I'm so sorry about that, Kakashi!" Iruka quickly exclaimed trying to apologize for the accident.

"It's fine. Don't worry about it." Kakashi simply replied not really bothered about the incident as he got up from the ground while brushing off the dust and dirt from his clothing.

"Oh, okay... Then- Then I'll be going now!" Iruka tried leaving quickly because he was too ashamed about the accident but he was stopped by Kakashi's hand grabbing his before he could even take a step.

"Fine, I'll go see the play." Once Kakashi says what he wanted, he lets go of Iruka's arm.

"Oh, I see. Okay then.. I guess I'll see you in the play then..." Iruka, still feeling a bit uncomfortable, tries to make a decent replay.

"Sure." With that Kakashi walks past the brown haired man who is still standing in place as if he was frozen.

Once Kakashi has left, Iruka let's out his breath. "Great going Iruka, I had to make a fool out of myself and put Kakashi in such an awkward situation... At least I'm lucky enough he doesn't seem to be that bothered about it and he even agreed to go to the play. That's really good because if I still had to try and convince him to go, I don't think I would have been able to face him after this for a while."

~The day of the play~

Loud applause echo through the theater as the play comes to the end. It seems that the play was a success and everyone truly enjoyed it. Once the curtains fall marking the end of it, Iruka leaves the stage still full of excitement from the success. As he is about to enter the changing rooms he gets stopped by someone's hand on his shoulder. The brown haired man turns to look at who that might be and as he does his eyes meet up with Kakashi's.

"Yo." Kakashi greats Iruka in his usual way before continuing. "You did great with the play." He smiles warmly through his mask.

"Oh, thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed the play. Well, we can talk about it a bit later if you want, once I change up from this costume back into my regular clothing."

"Sure thing. Then, I'll wait for you here."

"Okay. I'll be right back" With that Iruka enters his changing room.

After some time Iruka finally comes back all dressed up back into his regular clothing. Kakashi, who was still waiting for him, calls out to the brown haired chūnin as he returns. "I see you are done now. Come with me then" As he said that, the white haired male starts walking ahead expecting Iruka to follow.

"Oh, okay." Iruka quickly fallows behind not questioning where the male is taking him.

After a bit of walking they get to the shower room. Kakashi looks inside making sure that no one is there. "This should do." He mumbles to himself then walks in.

Iruka does the same while being a bit confused about why they are here. "Kakashi, why did you bring me her-?"

Before the brown haired chūnin could finish his words, Kakashi presses him to a wall. "I'm sorry about this but I need you to close your eyes."

Iruka's face gets a pinkish tone from the white haired man being so close to him especially when he haven't quite recovered from the incident that happened between them before. He wanted to question Kakashi about the reason why he has to close his eyes and what's going on here but because of his embarrassment he couldn't mutter a word so the only thing he could do now was to comply to the jōnins request. Therefore, Iruka closed his eyes while feeling his heart starting to race more and more till he waited in the dark for what's about to happen.

In that time, Kakashi quickly removed his mask from his face. "Just don't open your eyes till I tell you, okay?" But not waiting for an answer from Iruka, he quickly pressed his lips to the brown haired males.

"Ungh?" Iruka let out a bit of a weird sound, which was due to his surprise of Kakashi's action, and he almost opened his eyes do to it, but he managed to control himself. As the white haired males lips brushed against his, Iruka's heart felt like it's about to escape his chest from the way it was racing now and his face was now burning hot with redness.

After few seconds, which to Iruka felt like hours, Kakashi's lips parted away from the chūnins. "So that's the flavor of your lips." Kakashi mumbled under his breath to himself while putting his mask back on. Then he spoke to Iruka. "You can open your eyes now." After that he turned around and started to walk towards the exist of the room.

Iruka opened his eyes but at the same time he slumped down on the ground because his legs refused to hold his weight anymore. "Ka-kashi... Why did..." He tried to ask.

Kakashi stopped in his tracks hearing Iruka attempt to ask a question. He already knew what kind of question he had so, without waiting for the brown haired man to finish his sentence, he spoke. "You remember the accident we had a bit ago? Since then I was wondering how would your lips had tasted if I didn't have the mask." After telling this, Kakashi walked out leaving flustered Iruka who still couldn't really move from his spot because of how stunned he was.
