Goodbye human life
No one's pov
Lucille and Hudson Harrison lived with their grandparents on there small farm their entire lives. They didn't know their parents and they didn't feel like they needed to. Their grandparents were more then enough.
Though as they aged the two noticed some odd changes that made them very confused. Slowly Lucille, or Lucy as everyone called her, grew fangs and thick nails that seemed to get sharper as the days went on. Hudson could hear things from miles away and smell dinner while off in the farthest field they had. Lucy seemed to be getting stronger and faster as the days went and finally Hudson was never injured. No matter what he did he was fine within a few seconds.
It began to make the twins worry. On the night of their 16th birthday they decided to tell their grandparents. They sat down at the table for dinner, holding each other's hands out of nervousness. Lucy's claws dug into Hudson's skin making him bleed but he healed instantly. He could smell the sweet cake their granny had backed for them and was hiding in the kitchen while they all finished dinner. "Now. I know you two have been doing a lot of work lately so we got you both gifts. This one's for you dearie" their granny said lovingly in her frail voice as she tries to reach over the table to Hudson.
Hudson gently took the present off her and smiled as took off the wrapping and opened a small box only to see a greyish black metal ring on the inside. "It was mine when I was your age. My dad gave it to me and told me to keep it on as a reminder that I'd always be safe" their grandpa explained, making Hudson smile.
"And this one's for you darling" their grandpa continued as he handed Lucy her gift, the young girl being careful to hide her claws from them as she took it. She opened the wrapping paper to see a hoodie. She smiled happily as she put it on. It was baggy, the sleeves were to long and it smelt of the farm but the young girl loved it anyway. She pulled the good down and sit beside her brother, her hands and claws being covered by her over sized and soft sleeves.
The twins faces beemed with joy as their grandparents brought out their cake. They blew out the candle and made their wishes, laughing at how they'd done the gifts first and the present last. "Oh silly me. Well too late to dawn on it now" their grandpa said jokingly. "Grandpa we have something we've wanted to talk to you about for a while" Hudson said. "And you to granny.. it's very important" Lucy finished. "Well what is it dears ?" Their granny asked softly. The two looked at eachother and sighed.
Lucy began to speak "we.. we're mu-" only for their to be a loud hard knock on the door, making them freeze in confusion.
Lucy's pov
"Someone at the door? At this hour?" Granny said as she glanced at the clock. Grandpa shrugged and replied. "Could be travellers. Maybe their car broke down. It is the middle of the country petal" Grandpa tried to explain but it didn't ease any of our worries. I gripped Hudson's hand with my hoodie sleeve. "Shh.." he warned me as our eyes followed grandpa to the tiny hallway between the kitchen, the front door and upstairs.
He opened the door and all I could see was the back of his head but I could see our 'guests'. And old man with fluffy white hair, a man who I'm guessing is in his thirties with muttonchops, a buzz cut and eyes that feel like their about to take my soul out of my body and then a normal looking woman with blonde hair. "Well hello. Anything I can help you with?" Grandpa asked. Muttonchops smirked while the old man smiled politely. "Yes. We are looking for somewhere to spend the night. We called someone to come help with our vehicle but they cannot reach till morning. That won't be a problem correct?" He asked.
"Rude.." I muttered under my breath. "Of course! We have plenty of room. If your hungry the kids would gladly share a piece of their cake. Me and the misses are heading upstairs for bed" grandpa explained as he led them back to us. I squeezed Hudson's hand and he squeezed mine back to remind me he's beside me and I'm fine.
"We'd like that very much. Sweet dreams" the old man said as I watched my grandparent politely wave goodnight and go up to bed. The old man and the woman sat across from us, while muttonchops leaned against the wall. "Hello.." I managed to get out. "Hello. My name is Erik Lehnsherr. These are my friends victor creed and mystique. What are your names children?" He asked. "Hudson and Lucille.." Hudson replies for me as he watches the lady named mystique apparently leave the room.
I keep an eye on our two remaining guests. Erik smiles. "Lovely names. Your quiet special aren't you ? Even for our kind your odd." He told us. "Our kind?.." I asked. "Mutants" Erik replied. I felt Hudson grip my hand tighter, and I looked at one of my hands to see my claws getting longer. "Prove your one.." Hudson ordered. Erik chuckled. "Very well" he said as he rose his hand in the air. I couldn't help but laugh a bit as he stood there, only to suddenly see the sharpest knife we owned fly into his hands. Then he calmly lay it on the table.
"Now you show me" He ordered. "No.." we muttered in unison. Tall dark and muttonchops rolls his eyes and came over to us. He pulled my brother away from me by his chair, making sure we couldn't touch eachother. "Hudson!" I screamed. Victor raised his arm, his nails were like mine.. claws... they slowly got longer till he screamed at twin and swung at him. Hudson put up his arm in defence only for victor's claws to make 3 long slits in his arm that quickly healed but that didn't stop Hudson from being in pain and terrified.
I growled and I stood on my chair and lept at him like a lion, tackling victor to the ground and stabbing him with my claws.
Hudson's pov
I watched as my sister tackled victor to the ground and they both wrestled like wild animals, using the furniture as weapons against eachother till he eventually put my sister threw a wall. She just lay in the rubble unmoving. I felt my heart stop.
"Make hims stop.." I begged. Erik hummed curiously and looked at me. "Make him stop!" I yelled , suddenly I noticed I couldn't hear my grandparents breathing anymore. I waited to see if it would start again but I didn't hear anything. Not even a heart beat. A blue woman with red hair came into the kitchen with blood all over her hands. "Thank you mystique. They were just a bother to us" Erik said as if they meant nothing. I felt my blood boil. Victor lifted by sister out of the rubble by her hair.
"Now that they're out of the way and your sister is subdued I'm offering for you to join us. But I'll be truthful. It's a demand. There is no yes or no" Erik told us. "Go to hell." I told him with venom in my tone. He chuckled. "Oh and I thought your sister was the rude one" Erik said as he chuckled a bit more.
"What did you do to our grandparents ?!" I yelled at him. "Took care of them. You won't be needing them anytime soon boy. Now just relax and we can leave." Erik said to be sternly.
I glanced to my side to see Lucy slowly start to move. She seemed to take a deep breath and use one of her arms to slash victor across the face with her claws making him drop her. She clung to her shoulder in pain as her arm lay limp. "RUN HUDSON!" She screamed at me. I nodded and we both bolted for the back soon only to be blocked by victor. I grabbed her by her working arm so I wouldn't lose her. Erik blocked all the windows with every metal object in the house and mystique was nowhere to be seen.
Suddenly victor began to run at us like a mountain lion. I dragged Lucy through the hallway door and then I slammed it behind us to give us a few extra seconds to get to the stairs. We ran up and I saw bloody footprints trailing from our grandparents room. I didn't dare to look. But Lucy called out "grandpa?.. granny?.. anyone?.." and got no reply. I could practically see her heart break but as it did she went into survival mode. She shoved me into our room and locked the door behind her, sticking a chair up against it.
Then she pushed up the windows. "You can
heal right?.." she asked me, she knew the answer but I'm sure she just wanted to make sure she wasn't delusional. "Yes.. why?"
"I need you to carry me. Take a running start and get out the window. If I did my legs would break. After you heal we run.. I don't know where to but I refuse to stop till they can't find us.. got it?" She said to me. I nodded and picked her up. I heard the metal crack on our door and the sound of victor ramming his body against it.
I held her close to me and made her hold our family picture close to her as I went back to the door, them ran and jumped out the window. I felt my legs almost shatter immediately as I hit the ground. I screamed it pain. Lucy and me traded places. She picked me up with one arm, making me hold the photo, her broken one still laid beside her, and she ran. She was much faster then me and this really helped. I saw the tears whelming up in her eyes but she said nothing to me.
