The entire night, his thoughts and Karna words haunted him..... True his behaviour till date would never be justified, but what led him to do so was not known to anyone.

Post Juhi's death, he was left with nothing but Monami and his buisness and sohe chose to drown himself in what seemed more convenient!!!

He never knew the work-life balance that he thought he was maintaining was actually nailing his relationship with his daughter even more!!!

As he sat on his bed, all the memories of when Monami was a baby and Juhi was alive flooded his head.... She was truly a daddy's princess who was the exact image of her mother!!! But then now she was only her mother's exact copy!!!

That daddy's princess was lost and it was all because of hi and his mistakes. He knew now very well that he had spoiled his relationship with his daughter!!!

He pulled out Juhi's picture from his wallet and,"Bohot badi galti kardi na maine!!! Monami ko kabhi samjha hi nahin maine, aur uske saath saath maine tumhe bhi dukh pohonchayi hain!!! Kabhi maaf kar paogi kya mujhe aur Monami wo karegi kya mujhe maaf, main Sachme sharminda hu Juhi!!! Woh maaf toh karegi na mujhe!!!"

Karan's words had made him realise something he was hiding from his own sight and was refusing to come to terms with.... But now, he was determined to clear the air between him and his daughter!!!

The next morning Dr. Mahajan got up and walked straight to the dispensary!!! He entered in to find Karan sleeping while sitting next to Monami holding her hand in his. While Sid slept on the nearby stool holding Monami's other hand in his!!!

He knocked due to which Sid woke up first, as soon as his eyes spotted Dr. Mahajan, his eyes turned bloodshot red and he immediately stood up and walked up to him and held his collar...... Today he was not scared at all, his Monu bro had fallen unconsious since yesterday because of him and he was in no mood to accept any kind of tolerance!!!

"Itna sab kuch karne ke baad bhi aapko chain nahin mila jo muh uthake aap yahan chale aaye!!! Itna bhi self respect nahin hain kya aapke paas jo aap yahan par chale aaye. Aur kya chahiye aapko yahi ki meri Monu bro mar jaye? Aur bacha hi kya hain karne ko.... Agar aaj meri Monu bro ko kuch bhi ho jaye ya woh na uthe then I will not spare you Dr. Deepak Mahajan. And you better get that clear in your head"

Karan who woke up with a jolt hearing the commotion immediately held Sid back from behind preventing him from holding Dr. Mahajan's, "Bas karo Siddharth, stop it aur chhodo unhe, unhone jo bhi kiya ho we can't deny the fact that He is Monami's father!!! Woh apni beti se jab chahe baat kar sakte hain aur jab chahe unse mil sakte hain!!!"

Sid tried his level best to breakfree from Karan's hold,"Nahin Karan sir Iss aadmi se main apni Monu ko jitna dur ho sake rakhna chahta hu.... Iss aadmi ne meri Monu bro ko bohot dukh diye hain and I won't let that happen once again!!!"

Karan sensing what Dr. Mahajan had come to do turned Siddharth towards him and held onto his shoulders looking at him straight in the eye,"Cadet Siddharth Ganju I am your trainer and this is my order, you better listen to me chalo mere saath aur bharosa rakho mere upar main apni Monami ko kuch nahin hone dunga, aur naahin inhe kuch galat karne dunga. Aur aap clearly sun lijiye, Agar aapke wajeh se Monami ko kuch bhi hogaya toh main apne Special Agent Powers ko use karne mein piche nahin hatunga"

Karan dragged Sid out with him and convinced him that he won't let anything wrong happen to Monami....

Dr. Mahajan came in and sat down next to Monami, he slowly flared his hand on her head and pecked her forehead....

Feeling someone's touch Monami's eyes fluttered open as she whimpered out a muffled,"Kara........nnn"

"Beta Monami, main hu"

"Papa.... A...ap yah.....an??? ek.... Minute..........", Monami tried sitting up straight when Dr. Mahajan quickly jumped in to help her!!!!

"Apni beti se baat kar sakta hu kya"

"Ha.....an Pa....pa..... Aap puch kyun rahe hain, aap kabhi bhi mujhse baat kijiye"

Dr. Mahajan joined his hands together,"Beta kya tum mujhe kabhi Maaf kar paogi mere galtiyon ke liye?"

Monami who was already teary eyed, shot her eyes towards her father as those words came out of his mouth, those words didn't seem real to her, all these years she had expected him to ask forgiveness for his act towards her Mom!!!

But she had never received it, ever!!!!! And now suddenly when he asked her for forgiveness, she couldn't help but think of this as another one of his plans to take her back to Mumbai!!!

She looked away and this hurt Deepak as he knew the reason as to why she didn't believe him!!!!

"Gussa ho mujhse, aur hogi bhi kyun nahin, bohot pareshan kiya hain na maine tumhe, kabhi bhi apna pita hone ka farz nahin nibhaya maine, hamesha tujhe nicha dikhaya, tujhe demotivate kiya, tera mazaak udaya, tujhe bhala bhura kaha, tujhe thappad mara woh bhi sabke saamne, tujhe beizzat kiya, Mujhe pata hain maafi toh dur tu mujhe dekhna bhi-"

Monami held his hand immediately and said,"Papa, nahin aisa nahin hain, mujhe aapke unn behaviours ke wajeh se kabhi bura nahin laga, main toh sirf yeh chahti thi ki aap Mom ki shahadat par proud feel kare bas, aur aapko sorry bolne ki koi zarurat nahin hain."

"Nahin beta aaj mujhe tujhse sab kuch bolna hain, tujhse sab kuch share karna hain!!!"

"Par papa uski koi zarurat-"

"Zarurat hain Monami, zarurat hain, infact it is very much needed, Juhi aur main college mein mile the, aur uske baad hum dono ne Army Academy mein apni medical training puri ki!!!", Monami was stunned at the mention of this sudden piece of new information.

Dr. Mahajan who noticed Monami's stunned expression understood what she was thinking and immediately said, "Unbelievable lag raha hain I know, lekin yehi sach hain, anyways phir Training ke dauran, hum dono ko pyaar hua aur hamne shaadi bhi kar li, ab Zahir si baat hain ki shaadi ke baad I sort of became protective of Juhi!!! Training ke khtam hone ke baad, maine apna khud ka hospital khola aur Juhi ne Army mein continue Kiya!!! She was one of their best cadets, sabko uspar garv tha mujhe bhi tha, then you came, Juhi ne dimaag se sochke Army se maternity leave le liya!!! Then you were born, tumhe pata hain uss din hi Juhi ne kaha tha that you will be exactly like her!!!!"

Monami smiled widely at the statement, she was happy and blessed at the same time!!!

"Par maine mazaak mazaak mein bol diya ki nahin Monami toh bilkul meri jaisi hogi, aur uss baat par hum dono ki argument bhi Hogayi thi uss din, last mein maine khud give in kar liya aur haar maan li...."

"Meri protectiveness ki shell mein ab tum bhi aagayi, tum jab 3 saal ki thi toh Juhi decided to rejoin the Army, maine usse mana karne ki bohot koshish ki lekin tumhari Mom ne meri ek nahin suni, 2, 3 mission se toh she returned back heavily injured!!!"

"Juhi ko khone ka ek dar sa baith gaya mere dil mein, issi dauran pata nahin kab aur kaise lekin meri Protectiveness → Possesivness mein badal gayi, phir main zid karne laga ki Juhi Army chhod do aur hamari hospital join kar lo, woh nahin maani infact uske baad se jab bhi hum baat karte tab hamara jhagda ho jata tha!!! Phir uss mission ka bulava aaya jis mission ne tumse tumhari maa aur mujhse Juhi ko hamesha hamesha ke liye cheen liya!!!"

"Juhi ko khone ke baad mere paas sirf tum thi Monami, Tumhare samne vulnerable na dikhu isiliye apne aap ko kaam mein busy kar diya and in that process I lost you!!!"

"Possessiveness aur Protectiveness jo pehle se tha hi dheere dheere hi sahi lekin har din badta gaya, and that too to such an extent that I thought keeping you away from the Army and things related to it would keep you safe, issi dauran ek cheez toh main bhul hi gaya ki tumhe Army se dur rakhne ke liye mujhe tumhe tumhari Mumma ki yaadon se aur mujhse bhi dur rakhna padega!!"

"Tumhare mumma ke jaane ke baad, tum mujhse darne lagi and I used that as a key to stop you and thats why I started treating you with a strict father like attitude!!! Trust me Monami, tumhe demotivate karna, tumhe bhala bura kehna, tumse arguments karna, tumhe tumhare sapnon ko haasil karne se rok ke rakha. Mujhe laga iss sab se tum ruk jaogi lekin main galat tha, phirse bhul gaya tha ki tum apni Mom ki carbon copy ho aur unki tarah ziddi ho!!!"

"Agar aap...ko yeh pa....ta tha toh aa.... aapne muj...he roka kyun? Pa....pa ky...a a....ap aapne mu....mujhe ka...bhi su....ppor...t ky....un nahi...n kiya????", Monami spoke as her voice broke and cracked.

When since all these years she had been craving for him to understand her while he says he did all of this to protect her!!!

"Ego tha, tumhari Mom ne bhi kabhi meri baat nahin suni aur aakhir mein maine usse kho diya ab jab tum reh gayi thi toh mere dil aur dimaag mein aag si savaar ho gayi ki chahe kuch bhi ho jaye tumhe apne paas safe rakhunga, par bhul gaya ki Tsunami ko baand ke rakha nahin jaa sakta", He smiled slightly and flared his hand over her head, Monami smiled and closed her eyes in comfort, after almost a decade she felt warmth and love in his touch. He was proud of her, it was seen in his eyes finally after such a huge long wait she got that love!!!

"Papa ab.... ab.... aap... mu...mujhe support-", She hesitated, she was scared as to what his answer would be....

"Monami ab mere life ki bas do hi kaam, kisine mujhe samjhaya aur mujhe samajhna pada. Maine gusse mein aaj tak tumhari mom ko bhi wo RESPECT nahin diya that she deserved, I had to be Proud of her and I ended up insulting her every single time, Tumhare Mom se maafi toh maang nahin sakta toh unke badle tum hi mujhe maaf kardo beta!!!", Saying so he joined his hands, and bent his head down, tears fell from his eyes.

It was clearly evident that he was shameful of his all his acts he had done till date!!!

Monami immediately held his hand and nodded her head in a no!!!

"Nahin Papa aap maafi nahin maang sakte. Aa...ap mujhse bade hain, aapko apna haath nahin jodna chahiye mere samne, aap in haaton se sirf Ashirvaad dijiye!!!", Dr. Mahajan smiled and they both hugged each other.

Years later she felt warmth as she wanted to feel. A Parental warmth, A Parental Care, She closed her eyes as she felt that Love in his pats that he gave her on his head, slowly caressing her hairs....

They broke the hug and smiled at each other... They spoke for a little while about all the stuff that has been going on since she returned back to the Academy with Karan....

Later Dr. Mahajan gave Monami her medicines and asked her to take rest, as he was about to leave, Monami tugged at his sleeve and said, "Uhhh Papa woh kya aap.... Kya aap Karan ko ek chance de sakte hain, Hum dono ek dusre se bohot pyaar karte hain aur main specially Karan ke bina apni life imagine nahin kar sakti aur aapke ashirvaad ke bina main Karan ke saath aage bhi nahin bad sakti isiliye kya aap hamare pyaar ko ek mauka denge!!!"

Dr. Mahajan sighed and said,"Sochta hu! Tum rest karo!" And he walked out before Monami could tell him anything, Monami sighed and laid back having no other option. The next entire week the academy saw a new and improved Dr. Mahajan and Monami was happy and seeing her everyone else was happy.... But during this entire week Dr. Mahajan ignored Karan and vice-versa...... Monami tried to get the two men to talk lekin all her efforts went down the drain....

At last it was time for Dr. Mahajan to return back. All of them had gathered to bid their goodbyes to him. Monami looked at him with pleading eyes for one last time to accept Karan, he nodded and walked up to Karan, "Special Agent Karan Shergill"

"Sir!!!", He stood straight as he spoke in a clear loud voice

"Pyaar karte ho meri beti se?", Dr. Mahajan questioned

Karan's eyes immediately turned towards Monami's, and he said without breaking the eyelock, "Yes Sir", his eyes clearly showing love as he looked at her and answered

"Kitna pyaar karte ho tum meri beti se Special Agent?", Dr. Mahajan asked again

"Khud se aur hadh se zyaada Sir", Karan's voice didn't waver for even one second.

"Toh kya tum meri Beti ke liye apni duty chhod sakte ho?", Everyone including Karan and Monami's eyes widened in horror, she ran up to Deepak and nudged him slightly, "Papa- yeh aa...p kya keh ra-"

"Main Karan se baat kar raha hu Monami tumse nahin, So don't interfere! Toh batao Karan kya tum meri Beti ke liye apni duty chhod sakte ho?", Hearing him ask again, Karan took a step back and said, "I'm sorry sir lekin yeh mujhse nahin hoga!!! Mere liye mera desh sabse pehle hain phir Meri duty, aur phir Mera pyaar. Aur aap yeh sawaal mujhse nashe ki halat mein bhi puchenge toh main wahi jawaab dunga. Watan ke aage kuch Nahin Sir! Pyaar bhi Nahin"

Monami looked at him with awe but at the same time she was angry with her father for asking that question, then Dr. Mahajan's voice broke her trance"An Expected Answer. Monami apna haath do", Monami looked confused and so did everyone else including Karan, She forwarded her hand and he signed Karan to do so, Karan forwarded his hand as well and Dr. Mahajan joined the hands together!!!

"Ab mera yeh kaam bhi khatam!!! Ab bas do chote chote pote potiyan chahiye jo mujhe Nana keh kar pukarenge, bas unhi ka intezar hain, woh aayenge toh aaram se unke saath khelunga!!!"

The Karan who was standing all straight and forward had pink ears hearing the comment, Monami looked down as she couldn't stop blushing!!!

Deepak indicated Karan to bend down and when he did, Dr. Mahajan whispered something that made Karan break into a heartwarming smile.

Monami squinted her eyes and looked with suspicion towards the future sasur-damaad duo, wondering what secret they were talking off.....

After the secret session, Dr. Mahajan joined his hands infront of Karan and said, "Karan ho sake toh mujhe maaf kar Dena mujhe meri galti ka ehsaas ho gaya hain aur main apne pichle galtiyon ke liye maafi---"

Karan held his hand and lowered it nodding his head in a No, "Nahin sir aap mujhse bade hain, aapko apna haath nahin jodna chahiye mere samne, aap in haaton se sirf Ashirvaad dijiye!!!".

Hearing this Dr. Mahajan immediately broke into a laughter, "Sid sahi kehta hain tum dono bilkul made for each other ho!!! Dono ke vichaar hi nahin shabd bhi milte hain!!!"

With that our MoRan blushed harder while the entire academy burst out laughing!!!

He then walked to Sid and said,"Ab toh maaf kar de yaar Sid!!! Teri Monu bro ne bhi maaf kar di hain mujhe aur tere Karan sir ne bhi kar di hain mujhe maaf!!! Yaar woh tera baap woh saala Ganju bhi itni der gussa nahin rehta, tu kyun gussa hain!!!"

Sid looked at him and then at Monami and Karan, who nodded in assurance at him,"Theek hain UncleG bro, Monu bro and Karan bro, I mean Karan sir ne aapko maaf kar diya hain isiliye main bhi maaf kar raha hu, lekin agar aapke wajeh se phirse meri Monu bro ke aankho mein aansu aaye na toh---"

"Haan haan pata hain tu mujhe chodega nahin, samajh gaya ab galti nahin karunga",saying so, he hugged Sid and patted his back!!!!

Dr. Mahajan bid goodbye to everyone and sat in the car to return back, he pulled out a picture and caressed it softly,"ab tum bhi maaf kardo, tumhari beti ne bhi maaf kar liya hain mujhe!!! Maaf kardiya na tumne mujhe!!! Great!!! Aaj Sachme halka lag raha hai Juhi", saying so he put the picture back....

Karan came into Monami's room and back-hugged her,"Kya soch rahi ho Rani Sahiba?"

"Yahi ki mere boyfriend aur mere papa ke beech mein waha aisi kya baat Hui thi jo mere boyfriend ekdum se hasne laga"

"Baat sirf itni thi ki tumhare papa ne mujhse kaha ki meri beti ko hamesha khush rakhna kyunki woh bilkul apne maa pe gayi hain aur bohot Ziddi hain, agar kuch utpatang karde toh shocked mat hona!!!!"

Hearing this Monami made a long face while Karan burst out laughing and hugged her!!!!
