Our story begins in New York City, where beneath all of the people, buildings, and noisy cars, there is more than meets the eye in the city of the Big Apple. Everything was peaceful and quiet. As the camera moves to the underground hidden subway station, we see a lair that resembles an indoor home.

With the expectation of a Dojo with a large tree in the middle of a normal.

We see four ninjas in training. From the corner, the eldest of the teenage boys, with a red mask with katanas, practiced with the youngest of the team with a blue mask with nunchucks.

Kai: Yah!

Jay: Oh, yeah! Jayden Walker is on the move!

Jay said as Kai swung his katana, but Jay dodged.

Jay: You don't know what to do. [Still dodging] I'm here, I'm there. I could be anywhere. How do you stop what you can't even see?

Jay jumps around until Kai spins his sword around as Jay attacks, and Kai hits him in the stomach with pommel.

Kai: Like that?

Jay: Good one, Kai. [falls over]

Jay groans, holding his gut with one hand and giving Kai a thumbs up with the other one.

On the other side of the dojo, we can see the third ninja, incredibly intelligent, and clever child with a bo staff and a white mask. He is also practicing with the fourth ninja, a hot-tempered and aggressive one with sais and a black mask.

Cole: [cracks his neck ready] All right, Zane. Put down the staff, and no one gets hurt.

Zane: Uh, you said that last time, Cole, and then you hurt me.

Cole: Yeah, but less than I would have.

Zane: Yeah, right.

Zane states in disbelief, attacking. Cole rolls away from the staff and jumps away, Zane spinning his staff. He jabs forward, and Cole narrowly misses it. He spins it again, yelling as he slams the stick down.

Cole moves away from it. He ducks from another swing, and Zane continues his attack before moving forward and slamming it down. Nothing happens, and he feels that something is wrong. He opens his eyes, and his suspicions are confirmed when he sees that his staff is out of his hands.

He gasps, and he looks up to realize that Cole has his weapon. He spins it before breaking it in half using his knee. He grins maliciously, and Zane looks nervous.

Zane: Should've dropped the staff?

Cole: Should've dropped the staff.

Cole smirks before attacking Zane, whacking him like he is a drum.

Zane: Okay, okay! Ow! I'm down!

Kai steps up to face Cole, who drops the staff. Zane joins Jay in kneeling on the sidelines. Jay sticks his tongue out at Zane. Kai and Cole face each other, one knee on the floor.

Kai: Onegai shimasu.

Cole: Whatever you say.

The weapons clash together, sword against sai. Leo manages to force one sai out of Raph's hands. It flies across the room, going between Jay and Zane before hitting the wall.

With only one sai, Cole takes a reverse grip as they charge in, but when Kai moves in to strike, Cole knocks the sword out of his hand, and Judo throws Kai to the ground.

Cole: [smirks] Nice try.

???: Yame.

A ninja master emerges from his room as the four ninjas seated.

Splinter: "You all did very well."

Cole: "But I did better."

Splinter: "This is about self-improvement, Coleman. It is not about winning and losing."

Cole: "I know, Sensei. But I won and they lost.

Splinter presses against nerve in Cole's neck.

Cole: Ah, ah, ah! But what's really important is that we all did our best. Good job, everyone! Ah!"

The master laughs amusingly at himself.

After training in the dojo, everyone was in the kitchen, eating rice.

Jay: "There's a little more rice left if anyone wants it. Anybody? Anybody?"

Kai: "No, thanks."

Cole: "I'm good."

Zane: "All yours."

Jay: "Well, I guess no one left room for...cake!"

He gets out a cake made of rice

All: Whoa!

Zane: Sweet! It is a cake!

Cole: [tastes it] Made of...rice.

Jay: Happy International Ninja Day!

Kai, Cole, and Zane: Happy International Ninja Day!

Splinter: Ah, yes. 15 years ago today, our lives changed forever, and you four are now ninjas, glory, and honor for the Hamato Clan.

Jay: Tell us the story, Master Splinter.

Splinter: Jayden, I have already told it many times.

Jay: Please! Pleeeease!"

Cole covers Jay's mouth to shut him up.

Cole: [irritated] Please. It's the only way to shut Jay up.

Splinter: Ah, very well.

[The flashback begins.]

Splinter: Many years ago, when I was still human, it was Kai's father's birthday I was leaving the store with a present for him, and then I saw four young boys playing at the park with their parents.

The flashback in which a young man named Hamato Yoshi is carrying the bought at the birthday gift for Ray and saw four toddlers.

Jay: That was us?

Splinter: Yes. Don't interrupt! I passed a strange man on the street. Something felt off about him. I decided to follow.

Hamato Yoshi peeks around a corner to see two odd looking men having a discussion. But he was unaware that four young boys followed him. One is holding a canister containing a green, glowing liquid. Yoshi steps on a rat's tail, and its squeaking draws the men's attention. They approach him and the children. The four children were terrified.

???: "Go no further. This place is a place where you are not allowed to be in this place. We have been seen in this place by you, so this is not a place that will be left by you."

A fight ensues, and Hamato Yoshi defeats them and defend the children. but then the green canister Yoshi. The man mutates in agony as the four toddlers and their parents watch in horror. It was the birth of Splinter and the beginning of the Ninja.

[End of flashback]

Splinter: That was the beginning of our life together. It was the mysterious substance in this canister that, in a way, changed me.

Jay: Cool.

Kai: So sensei, now that we're trained to defend ourselves, I think we're finally ready to go explore the city, don't you?

Splinter "Yes . . .

[they all cheer]

Splinter: and no."

[All disappointed.]

Zane: Ugh!

Jay: "Oh, man, come on."

Kai: "Lame."

Cole: "I hate when he does that."

Splinter: You have grown powerful like your parents, but you are still young. You lack the maturity to use your skills wisely.

Zane: "So, Sensei, isn't that just no?"

Splinter "Yes...and no. Wisdom comes from experience, and experience comes from making mistakes."

Zane: "Aha! So in order for us to gain the wisdom, we have to make the mistakes. So we can go."

Splinter: "No."

Zane: "And yes?"

Splinter: "No!"

Zane: "Oh...!"

Kai: "Sensei, we know you and our parents are trying to protect us, but we can't spend our whole lives hiding."

The Master looked at his students as they beg, their eyes sparkling and huge.

Splinter: "Mm. You may go tonight."

All: [cheering]

Jay: High five!

The four best friends high five each other. A few minutes later, Kai was sitting on the couch watching his favorite TV show: Space Heroes.

Captain Ryan: [On TV] Mr. Crenshaw, status report!

Cranshaw: [On TV.] Status? I'll give you the status! We're gonna blow up in two seconds![Ryan slaps him.] Thank you, Captain.

Kai: [Quoting along with show.] Gentleman, I have a bold and daring plan. There's no time for hesitation. My orders must be carried out without question!"

Crew: [On TV] Aye, sir!

Cole: You know this show is stupid, right?

Kai: Space Heroes is a great show, and Captain Ryan is a great hero. Someday, I am gonna be just like him.

Cole: Well, you do like to hear yourself talk, so you're on your way.

Zane and Jay showed up

Jay: [excited] "It's go time!"

The ninjas prepare to go out to the streets of New York with their weapons.

Zane spins his staff in the air before holding it in his hands. He spins it on his shell and grasps it in his hands, jabbing it. He spins it a third time before holding it behind his back.

Cole grasps his sais and spins them in his hands. He spins them again and then another time before placing them near his face with a smirk.

Kai takes his swords out of his sheaths and swings them swiftly. He does it again and holds one of them near his arm and the other in the air behind his back.

Jay throws his nunchucks into his hands and spins them. He spins them three times before one of them turns into a chain with a scythe at the end. He spins the other end of his nunchuck before throwing it.

Now, they stand in front of their master, as he would be giving them a short speech on what to do out there.

Splinter: You four are going up to a hostile world. You must maintain awareness at all times.

All Hai, sensei!

Splinter: Stay in the shadows.

All: Hai, sensei!

Splinter: Don't talk to strangers.

All: Hai, sensei!

Splinter: Everyone is a stranger.

All: [Annoyed.] Hai, sensei!

Splinter: Make sure you go before you leave. The restrooms up there are filthy. Plus, be at your homes before late. Your parents called me to let you know.

All: [ Frustrated] Sensei!

Splinter: Good luck, my students.

All: Here we go!/I am so pumped!/Awesome! /Oh, this is gonna be epic!

Splinter: Look both ways before crossing the street!

Splinter calls out, but they are long gone.

[New York City]

As we moved up into the streets of New York, everything was peaceful and quiet up here.

In a dead end alley, a secret elevator doors in the brick wall opened up, and four figures came out.

Jay: Hello, New York.

Kai: The city is just full of possibility. Finally, we can go to any place whenever we want to hang out.

Walking by a store, Zane gasps, looking in the window.

Zane: Hey, the new computers just arrived. Is that the next generation cadmium processor with quantum encryption?

Cole: [sarcastic tone] I don't know, Zane. Is it?

Cole asks, not caring.

Zane: [excited] It is!

Jay: So where to next?

A pizza delivery kid stops and sees the teenage ninjas. Then, Cole growls at him as the kid screams, and the kid drives off in his motorcycle. A single pizza box landed on the ground.

Cole: [smirks] That was kinda fun.

Kai: We're too exposed out here. Come on!

One stops to see the small box there. Later, there are on the roof.

Jay: Aw, yeah. My most favorite food from my favorite restaurant, Antonio's Pizza-Rama.

Jay opened the box and revealed the large pizza with extra cheese, sausage, and pepperoni.

Zane: [smells the pizza] Ahh, I love that smell.

Cole: Is it any good? We haven't had pizza for a while.

Jay: I'll try it.

The youngest ninja took a slice of pizza and took one nip. His brain explodes.

It feels like he liked it. He scarfed it all up.

Jay: [burps] Uh yuck. You guys won't like it. I'll take the rest.

All: No way! Nuh-uh! Back off!

The others grab slices and try it.

Cole: So much better than eating rice.

Jay: I love this town!

Later on, they were on the rooftops, having a lot of fun. Jay jumps off a rooftop, feeling the adrenaline pumping through his body.

Rooftop jumping was now another enjoyment of the city. They leap across to another building, hollering and whooping in excitement. Kai jumps from edge to edge.

They slide to a stop as they look at the view, their mask tails flying.

Kai: All right, guys, it's getting late. We should probably head back to our homes.

Cole, Zane, and Jay: Lame!

The others immediately groan at this, complaining. They wanted to see more...as they're turning to leave, Zane sucks in a breath.

Zane: Guys! Look at that!

The bottom of the city reveals three people.

Zane saw a girl with beautiful silver hair.
Zane's heart started to pound and started drooling.

Zane: [looks at the sliver haired girl] She's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen.

Cole: Isn't she the only girl you've ever seen?

Cole points out, and Zane snaps out of his daydream as he looks at him.

Zane: My point still stands.

The family of three stopped and saw a swift man and a group of men wearing business suits.

Kirby O'Neil: What? What is this?

The two girls shivered as the men, fearing what they were about to do.

Zane: We gotta save 'em!

Kai: Splinter's instructions were very clear. We're supposed to stay in the shadows.

Cole: I thought you wanted to be a hero. Since when do heroes ask for permission?

Kai: They don't. But ...

Zane: Well, I'm going!

The others go after them, making Kai sigh and follow them.

The small family is being dragged to the van, and the father is unconscious.

Girl: Help! Help!

The man tosses them into the van.

Cole: Hey!

Cole threw a punch at the man while the rest fought. The man rose up a strange warbling sound echoed like a robot.

Cole: Still standing, huh? [Draws out his sais] I'll fix that.

He bumped into Kai.

Kai: Watch it!

Cole: You watch it!

It started getting weird. They kept bumping on to each other while trying to fight the me.

Cole: Watch it, Zane!

This was not working at all. They continue bumping to each other, swords hits to band swords, almost stabbing to someone's back and getting stuck with sais.

Cole: What the --Agh!

The man punched him as he alters the other. Cole was about to use the known technique as he did to Kai, but it fails.

Cole: Oh, come on!

The man punches him, knocking him out unconscious. Kai keeps jumping around and kicks the two men, but one man punches him away. We cut to the man where he grabbed the by the hips.

Girl: Hey, cut it out! Stop! Ow! Let go of me!

Zane notices the girl is smuggled away and hurled his bo at him he catches April without getting her hurt.

Zane: Gotcha!

The girl looked up at Zane, who lets a charmed smile. Without any warning, she screamed, causing him to scream also too dropping her.

Zane: AAGHH!! No, no, no. No. Don't worry. We're the good guys.

Girl: No! [Points at the men in black suits] [screams]

Zane turns around and whacks them with his bo staff. However, Jay accidentally hit him with his nunchucks. The brainiac watches at him angrily.

Jay: Whoops! Sorry. Watch out!

The man kicked them away and took the girl into the van and drove off.

Zane: Huh? They're getting away! They got the girl! [He ran off]

Kai and Cole run after them while they're arguing with each other.

Cole: You almost jabbed me with your sword.

Kai: Well, I didn't know you were gonna land where I was stabbing.

Jay was all alone. He was about to catch up with the others, but the man walked toward him, there's one remaining bad guy left.

Jay: [beast mode] You think you're tough, huh?! Do you think you're tough enough to stand up to my hot nunchuck of fury?!

He slashed his nunchucks around one, and the man grabbed one of the nunchucks and threw it away.

Jay: [scared] Huh? I see. Well, then... Aah!

He flees, panicked. He suddenly gets cornered as the man walks toward him. He slashed his kusarigama around.

Jay: [scared] Stay back!

He accidentally and blindly swings his kusarigama to his attacker in a state of panic, slashing the man's face open. With blood pouring from his face, but then suddenly, weird things happen as electronic beeping sounds come around from the man. The man covers his face in pain as he staggers a few steps back before collapsing to the ground.

Jay: What the..?

Curious, Jay uses his leg to slowly move him on his back. He notices he is a robot due to his robotic and metallic face.

Jay: [Shocked] That is all kinds of wrong.

All of a sudden, a pinkish brain creature screeches.

The young ninja screamed as it grabbed his face. Struggling to get the creature off, it slammed right on the wall and scurried away. Panting for breath, he ran off to find the others.

Jay: [freaking out] Guys! Guys! You're never gonna believe this! That dude, he.. he.. Had a brain!

Kai: We all have brains, Jay.

Zane: Not all of us.

Jay: In our chests?

Kai: No, Jay. Not in our chests.

Jay: [Irritated] You're not listening to me!

Kai slap him across the face.

He gets defensive as his eyes widen.

Jay: Did you just slap me?

Kai: I was calming you down.

Jay: Why would that calm me down?!

Zane: I think he's delusional.

Jay: Just just come here.

He walks off to show his friends.

Jay: I'm telling you. The big guy was a robot, and he had a freaky-weird alien brain thing in his chest. You gotta believe me.

Cole: I'm not sure we do.

Jay: Oh, yeah? Well, you'll change your tune when you see that he's...

But there was no one in sight, and the man is...

Jay: ... Gone?

The boys left, and Jay stared the way the alien and the body had been as we cut to the lair.

Splinter: [Angry] And so your inability to work together allowed them all to get away.

Cole: [glares at Kai] Well, maybe if I didn't have to waste time arguing with hero boy, I could've saved them.

Kai: Hey, if you hadn't gotten in my way, I could have done it. [Glares at Zane] And you went flying off on your own. How smart was that?

Zane: Well, it would've worked out great if [glares at Jay] somebody hadn't hit me in the head with their nunchucks!

Jay: Well, none of this would've happened if....

Jay looks to his left only to see there was no one to blame.

Jay: Somebody hadn't trusted us to go up there in the first place.

Jay before they all paused, seeing he blamed Master Splinter.

Jay: Oh, geez. Sensei, I didn't mean to -

Splinter: No, Jay. You are right.

Jay: I am?

Kai, Cole, and Zane: He is?

Splinter: You were not fully prepared for what was up there. I trained you to fight as individuals, not as a team. And as your teacher, the responsibility for that is mine. Perhaps in another year, we can try again.

Zane: Another year? Ha! Has everybody forgotten that people were kidnapped? They don't have a year! Sensei, we have to do something now!

Splinter stares at him, wondering whether or not Zane was right.

Zane: You weren't there, sensei. You didn't see the way that girl looked into my eyes. She was scared. And she was counting on me us to save her and her family!

Splinter turns to see a picture of a beautiful young woman with a baby, and all he can hear is his mind is the sound of fire.

Splinter: Yes, you must save her.

Kai: I agree, sensei. But in that fight, we weren't exactly a well-oiled machine.

Jay: Like that robot with the brain thingy.

Cole: [annoyed] Give a rest!

Splinter: Hmm. If you are to fight more effectively as a unit, you are going to need a leader.

Kai: Can I be the leader?

Cole: Why should you be the leader? I kicked your butt. I should be the leader.

Zane: Hey, I'm smarter than all you guys put together. It should be me.

Jay: No way! It should be me!

Jay said as all his best friends looked at him with wide eyes waiting for a reason.

Jay: I don't really have a reason. I just think it would be neat.

Splinter: This is a difficult decision. I will meditate on it.

Splinter said, closing the door as he walked into another room, but seconds later, he opened it back up.

Splinter: It's Kaito.

Splinter declares closing the door again.

Kai: No hard feelings, Cole?

Cole growls as he stands up and leaves.

Cole: [mad] You better not screw this up for us.

Later that night, they're on one of the rooftops near a billboard, watching the building that's across from us.

Jay: [confused] Explain to me one more time what we're doing here.

Jay asks, causing them to groan.

Kai: Jay, we've been over this. That building has the same logo as the van that was used to kidnap the family. So if we wait here long enough, one of the kidnappers will eventually show his face. And when he does, we'll make him tell us where they took them.

Jay: [pumped up] And then we got ourselves a van!

Kai: [facepalmed] Just hit the guy I tell you to.

Jay: Will do!

Cole: Are you sure this is gonna work?

Kai: Trust me. They'll be here any second.

Time passes, Cole, Zane, and Jay do things to entertain themselves while Kai keeps watch.

Jay: Okay, I'm thinking of something green. Ga-reen. Ga-reen.

Zane: [Annoyed and uninterested] Isn't that the same tree again?

Jay: Man, you're good at this!

Cole: Give it up already. The guy's not gonna show.

Kai: We have to be patient.

Cole: No, you have to come up with a better plan, 'cause the four of us standing here with our thumbs up our noses.

Jay: [stuck his thumbs up his nose] What do you know, they'd fit.

Cole: Is pointless.

Kai: [smirks] You sure about that, Cole?

Cole: He just showed up, didn't he?

Cole asks knowingly. The same van parks in the alley right next to the building.

Cole: I should've complained two hours ago.

The van was in the alleyway while the same driver that was their exit out.

Kai: [heroic voice] Gentlemen, I have a bold and daring plan. There's no time for hesitation. My orders must be carried out without question.

Kai noticed that his friends were already gone.

Kai: Guys? Guys, wait up!

He joins them. Street level all four approach the driver of the van.

Cole: All right, buddy. We can do this the easy way, or [smirks and cracks his knuckles] my vote, the hard way.

All four draw out their weapons.

Zane: Yeah, look at it logically. There are four of us and one of you. What are you gonna do?

The man started shooting lasers at them as the Ninja jumped high to avoid them.

Cole: [yells at Zane] You had to ask!

Using this opening, the man got in his van and drove off.

Zane: He's getting away again!

Kai: No, he's not!

The Ninja took to the rooftops to chase him down. Cole leaps atop van but is shaken off. Man sees other three atop roofs, begins shooting at them. Kai jumps into the air and throws shuriken, which pierces one of the van's tires. Driver loses control and plows into light pole, and then van flips onto its side.

Kai: Now we're getting somewhere.

All four go back down to the street. Kai begins to give hand signals, but the others look at him in confusion.

Cole: I don't know what that means.

Ksi: Go around back.

Jay: Why didn't he just say so?

They crept to the bottom of the van, and as they did, a single canister slipped out and rolled to the ground to Jay's feet. Inside, there is a glowing greenish blue ooze.

Jay: [shocked] Whooa.
