Good Friends: Jagged Stone

"This is amazing, Melody! You have seriously outdone yourself."

Luka was gushing about the fabulous designs Marinette had created for himself and his father. It was their first joint effort since the fateful day Luka found out Jagged Stone was his father. Of course, Marinette was the only one Jagged would trust to style him.

"I completely agree." His voice rang out sending Marinette's body into turmoil. Adrien was the model for the video. Marinette was styling the video. Chat Noir was right behind her. Ladybug had no idea whether she could do this. Taking a deep breath she turned to face her partner, her partner who she loved more than she'd like to admit.

Best friends, Marinette. We're concentrating on being best friends.

She turned to face him and smiled. This was going to be hell.

"How does the suit fit Adrien?"

He smiled back at her and she swore if they were alone she would be a puddle of melted human on the floor. He looked stunning. Simple and sophisticated in a plain black shirt and black skinny jeans which hugged his backside in the most illegal way. She really needed to stop staring.

"Purrfect." The smile dropped from Marinette's face, he dropped a pun. Why had he had to go and do that? Sensing her panic he pulled back, letting out a little cough.

"It fits great Mari. You're tailoring is second to none, don't you think Luka?"

As if sensing the unease between the two Luka jumped in to save the day.

"She's amazing as always, Jagged would only use the best for his shoots."

"How you getting on with your father?" Marinette needed to distract herself from the fact she was styling a video for a music icon.

Breathe Marinette, what's the worst that can happen?

"We're doing ok. I can't believe I'm actually grateful of being akumatised. Not having a dig at you though Marinette," he looked between his ex-love and love rival before continuing, "what happened you can't help. I understand."

Marinette couldn't say anything, there wasn't a lot to say. She couldn't tell him she was Ladybug and she couldn't tell him she'd figured out her crush was her selfless partner who threw himself into horrible situations time and time again to save her. Silly cat!

"I'm sorry I couldn't give you the truth you were looking for. It's just some secrets need to be kept secret." Her eyes flickered to Adrien and she noticed a frown appear between his eyebrows. Oh she was so getting questioned later.

"Anyway, this video is going to be massive. It's his first release in five years that is also going out to the states. Hopefully we'll get some exposure and maybe a tour over there."

"And of course, you'd have Marinette style for you? I mean she is going to be the best in the business." Adrien spoke with certainty, his voice full of admiration for his partner.

"Oh yes! No one else would be good enough. She'll have to come with us." Luka sent her a wink.

"I think the Agreste's will have something to say about that. She's to valuable to lose to America."

Marinette couldn't help the blush spreading across her cheeks as she looked between the two boys. Both meant to world to her and both could help her overcome everything. She just needed to get over the fact that one was her ex-boyfriend and the other her very much loved partner, both fighting over her.

The video was going worldwide. She hadn't been told that. This was the most nerve wrecking experience of her life. Yes she'd designed for Jagged Stone before but this was her first time styling out a full international shoot, in conjunction with 'Gabriel', of course. As if she was being hit by a freight train, a wave of nausea over took her body.

"Thanks guys. Adrien, can I just check your shirt fit before your shoot? I don't want your father pulling the video for an unfit shirt."

Adrien nodded towards his lady before heading back to his trailer. Once inside Marinette slammed the door, resting her back against it and feeling herself begin to hyperventilate.

"Woah! No! You're not doing this now." Adrien was in front of her in the matter of seconds, hands positioned on her shoulders, in his normal team talk position. He bought his head down level to hers so he could look into her eyes.

"Adrien, this is a lot! What if the outfits aren't good enough? My career could be over before it begins. What am I going to do?" Tikki suddenly flew from Marinette's purse and began to rub against Marinette's cheeks.

"Mari, you're amazing, your outfits are exquisite and even my father can see that. The love and commitment you have put into these costumes is by far more than any designer would have. Even my father has trusted you to set his alterations. I wish you could see you the way I do."

Her tear filled eyes looked up into Adrien's, as she felt herself calm from the support of having him here near her. His thumbs began to rub her shoulders as she steadied herself in his eyes. Slowly, she began to calm down nodding with Adrien as he kept his eyes firmly tracked on hers.

"Thank you." She muffled out, "you always know what to say to me."

He removed one hand from her shoulders and wiped under her eyes, removing eyeliner and mascara and stopping her from looking like an extra from 'The Addams Family'.

"That's my job, Bugaboo."

"Don't call me that." The smirk on Marinette's lips proved she was kidding but she couldn't help pulling him into a quick hug. She was quite sure his hugging total was steadily reaching that of her parents.

"You love my humour, Mari. You can't escape the truth." He pulled back winking in delight at the blush encompassing her face. He mental rewarded himself for making her blush again. "Now come on, you have a shoot to style and check on."

He turned around in front of her, spinning as though he was in the spotlight and ending in a Chat like pose. "How do I look?" Wiggling his eyebrows Marinette let out a small giggle.

"Like a dork, mon Chaton!"

Slinging his arm around her shoulder he led her towards the door and back onto set.

"I'll always be your dork, M'lady. As much as you deny it."

They'd reached the set and he'd been called straight away onto the stage. Marinette stood there frozen to the spot. He'll always be hers? She must have been dreaming. She was just Marinette and Adrien, well Chat, loved Ladybag. There's no way he could love her as Marinette, was there?
