Chapter 1
In the state of New York, the Howling forest was a forest by the iconic city. It was said to host dangerous threats keeping any creatures away. With rumors such as monsters and ghosts and zombies and stuff like that. It had the occasional traveler, but they never returned. While it seemed like a terrifying forest, it was also a much desired one. With no creatures confirmed to show up, it had all the room to a head of animals. However, some unlikely visitors came to inhabitants the forest not knowing about the rumors. A fox herd. Earlier this day, A young fox had been out exploring the near the forest. Mostly searching for food. While his herd didn't like him. Mostly because he always seemed to bring over trouble. Mostly because of his more adventurous side always putting him in danger. The Fox didn't have a name due to it not really being a thing with the species. At most they had a code name like Fang or Tongue or something. His somewhat name was something like Prey, but Fox didn't take it due to him not liking being referred to as food. Besides, his family couldn't stand him anyways. Their leader who was also Fox's father was a very strict fox who was mostly called Claw because his claws were feared even by his own herd. Extra sharp and often covered red in blood from his prey. Fox had eventually found berries and started to eating them. Berries were some of Fox's favorite food. His all time favorite food's were the ones he could sink his teeth in like rabbits. After a few berries, Fox heard rustling in the bushes. Fox checked and immediately looked away. It was a wolf! Fox's herd was already on the run from the wolves and seeing them this close was scary. It was time to move! The wolf heard the rustling from the bush and called over for it's pack. Fox ran as far away as possible. Fox eventually reached his family. Foxes didn't travel in herds like wolves did. So they were severely outnumbered. But foxes were very cunning.
"Father! I spotted a wolf! We need to leave now!" Fox cried.
"Hmph. Again you brought wolves?! Do you want our pack to die?!" His father yelled. "N..n..no." Fox stuttered. Suddenly, the pack of wolves appeared.
"Run!" Claw yelled as the family ran away. Wolves ran after them. On the chase, the foxes found the Howling Forest where they decided to lose the wolves. However, the wolves caught the foxes scent and followed them. The chase through the forest continued until they reached a wide open area. The area had a huge peak on a mountain in back of the field. Both packs stopped to look at it.
"Well. This area certainly looks better than our last "home". The wolf leader Howler said.
"We won't let you have this home. This is clearly ours. We found it first!" Claw said. "Well then, do you want to fight for it? You'll die if you do." Howler asked laughing.
"Not right now. Give us a few days to gather some foxes. A challenging prey is more satisfying than a easy prey right?" Claw asked.
"You're right. I'll give you foxes three days. Then we'll be back." Howler said howling to his pack to leave the area.
"You Prey are so dead." Claw yelled.
"I'm sorry.."
"Leave! Become what Oh you're meant to be!" Claw yelled. Fox yipes and ran out of the area. He was exploring outside the Howling Forest when suddenly he smelt a familiar scent. A wolf's scent!
"Didn't they just say they'd leave us? And they just camped outside the forest!" Fox thought grumpily. But what he found surprises him. One lone wolf. Crying.
