The Next Day

I couldn't get over what Reinhard said yesterday. I have to chose one.... but Ryūketsu is already doing his work. In less then a month, everyone in this kingdom will perish. I still don't know how my Imperial Arm is able to do so but if it can pull it off then I'm not complaining. I changed into another kimono and walked outside onto the balcony. I felt a gentle breeze threw my hair as the leaves rustled. I closed my eyes, enjoying this experience. "If only it was peaceful like this everyday." I sighed.

"JAN!" My peaceful moment was ruined by someone screaming my name down in the fields. "ARE YOU BUSY?" It was Kazuki. I shook my head and he replied,"I HAVE TERRIBLE NEWS. MEET ME DOWNSTAIRS!" I walked downstairs and waited for him. When he was within my sight, I asked,"so what's the deal? Bringing me here?"

"Your sword..." he panted. "It's missing!" I wasn't shocked by what he said, my Imperial Arm can definitely get through all the security. Kazuki held my hand and said,"come on!" We went to the place were the sword was kept seeing the guards has increased. "We don't know where it is yet but we will find it." I whispered into Kazuki's ear,"don't worry, I have it." He gasped slightly so I covered his mouth and pulled him outside. "My imperial Arm was left on my table last night, see." I showed him a necklace I was wearing. "I'm going to bust out of here in less than a month." I paused for a second then asked,"Kazuki, come with me."

"What?"

"Everyone in this kingdom is going to die in 27 days. But... I'm starting to have feelings for you... that's why.... please, come with me. I don't want you to die in this war." I begged him from the bottom of my heart. He placed his hand on my shoulder and apologised,"I'm sorry, I can't go with you."

"Why?" I asked.

"As one of the people who have to rule this kingdom one day... I can't leave. I'm cursed to stay here." I couldn't understand what he meant. "This is what happens to thos who are royal in this kingdom. Even though I want to run away with you far, far away... I can't. I'm sorry. Leave this kingdom before it's too late."

My eyes became watery and before I knew it... I started crying. "If you're not coming with me then don't ever talk to me again. You're becoming someone important in my life, if something happens to you, I'll regret it for the rest of my life. Please... don't talk to me anymore." I left the room and walked back to my room locking the door behind me. "Ryūketsu, let's do this, destroy the place tomorrow for me, I can't stay here for 27 days."

"But I can't do it in a day, I'll have to use more of your blood then." I turned Ryūketsu into a kitchen knife and slit open my arm.

"Take as much as you need."

"As you wish."
