Sunpaw waited in the clearing of camp for his mentor Watertuft

And when Watertuft walked out of the warriors den

"Your up early" Watertuft said

"I have been waiting for you" Sunpaw replied

"Alright let's go out of training" Watertuft said

And they walked out of camp

Sunpaw had learned that Watertuft liked to get up early and stay up late so they would train for a long time each day

Leaving Sunpaw exhausted at the end of each day they trained

And they walked into the training clearing

And they trained until the sun went down but then they continued to train until Watertuft thought it was good enough for today

And when they returned to camp

"You guys were out late" Scarletrose said

"I know he likes to train late" Sunpaw replied

"Are you saying that you want to spend more days training" Watertuft asked

"No" Sunpaw answered

And they walked inside and he walked into the apprentices den to find that everyone else had already went to sleep

That's what happens when we train late

He had been getting used to not having much to eat each day

In the morning he got up and walked out of the den and over to the fresh-kill pile and grabbed the smallest mouse that looked like it could only feed a kit

And he ate it

That well do good for a while. Watertuft said that we were going to spend this day hunting Sunpaw thought

And Watertuft walked out of the warriors den

"Come on its time for training" Watertuft said

They would wake up before the dawn patrol and return after the sun went down each day

And they walked out of camp and started to hunt

He saw a black bird and started to crawl towards it until he was a tail-length away from the bird and he jumped landing a kit step away and the black bird took off and flew into a nearby tree

"Mouse-dung" Sunpaw whispered

"Bad luck" Watertuft said

And they continued hunting

And once they were done they needed to take several trips back to collect all the prey

Once they dropped the final pieces of prey on the fresh-kill pile he grabbed a fat rabbit from the pile

And he ate it

"Your back earlier than you normally come back to camp" his father Tinycreek said

"I know" Sunpaw replied

He saw Ivypaw his sister come over

"Oh so you have you finally came back from training" Ivypaw said

"Yes I know we stay out for a long time but not this time" Sunpaw replied

"Come on Ivypaw Watertuft just likes to work hard" Tinycreek said

"Well still we barely ever spend time together" Ivypaw replied

"I might just be the first one of us to become a warrior because Watertuft works me so hard" Sunpaw said

"Yeah you would leave us behind" Ivypaw said grumpy

"Don't be grumpy I don't want to be the first to become a warrior I want to do it with you guys so even if I pass my assessments first I will tell Watertuft that I want to become a warrior at the same time as you guys" Sunpaw replied

"Oh that's nice" Tinycreek said

Me and Galaxypaw haven't spent much time together Sunpaw thought

"Sunpaw check the elders for ticks" Watertuft said

"Okay Watertuft" Sunpaw replied

And he walked over to the medicine den

"Hi I need some mouse-bile Watertuft wants me to check the elders for ticks" Sunpaw said
