After being contacted by Dr. Merlot, Sasuke and Team RWBY along with Kabuto's team cautiously entered the lab. As soon as they did so, the doors were closed. Everyone immediately suspected a trap.

Ruby: I've got a bad feeling about this....

Sasuke: Whatever Merlot has in store for us, we'll have to be ready. 

As Sasuke said this, the sound of heavy footsteps were heard. Immediately, Sasuke and Team RWBY prepared their weapons. Soon enough, a Mutated Beringel ambushes the Hunstmen. It wasn't long before Merlot's voice was heard on the intercom.

Merlot(Intercom): Allow me to introduce you to my most recent creation. Beringels are among the strongest and durable Grimm in their base form. Thanks to my...modifications, this Beringel has reached it's full potential. 

Weiss: That's....going to be problematic.

Zaku: If you're so scared, step aside and let the pros handle this!

Zaku unleashes a powerful blast of sound energy at the Beringel. The sound attack seemed only to anger it. 

Zaku: Fall, damn it!

As the Mutated Beringel moved closer to Zaku, Sasuke stepped in and landed a powerful Chidori strike on the mutated Grimm. The Chidori attack did nothing but anger the Grimm. But before the Mutated Beringel could attack Sasuke, Kabuto throws several Kunais at the Grimm, distracting it. Ruby then ruses in and fires several shots with Crescent Rose. The Mutated Beringel roars as it slams it's fist on the ground, sending a shockwave powerful enough to knock everyone back several feet. 

Blake: That Grimm is going to be a problem!

Yang: No kidding....

Ruby: The only way we can defeat this Grimm is if we work together! 

Sasuke: Ruby's right. 

As everyone got back on their feet, the Mutated Beringel beats it's chest and charges at them. The Huntsmen were able to get out of the way just as the Grimm crashes into a steel wall. Seizing the opportunity, Dosu uses his Echo Speaker Gauntlet to generate soundwaves at a frequency only the Grimm could hear. This caused the Mutated Beringel to become disoriented and stagger across the room. Yang charges in and attacks the Beringel with Ember Celica. She lands a few good punches which blast the Grimm against a wall.

Kabuto: Kin! Zaku! 

Kin prepares several needles and throws them at the Grimm. Zaku then unleashes a powerful concussive wave of sound, both blasting the Mutated Beringel and triggering the needles, further disorienting the Grimm. Weiss then uses her Glyphs to summon a Boarbatusk which charges at the Mutated Beringel. As the Mutated Beringel was occupied, Sasuke and Ruby launched a coordinated attack. Ruby used her Pedal Rose Semblance to land several slashes on the Grimm. Sasuke then lands several strikes with his sword on the Grimm's mask, cracking it. Seeing an opportunity, Sasuke charges up a powerful Chidori and lands it on the mask. Sasuke struggled for a moment as the masked proved resilient. But for a brief moment, the Curse Mark took hold of Sasuke, giving him the power needed to shatter the Mutated Beringel's mask, killing the Grimm. Ozpin's seal managed to reign in the Curse Mark's power. As the Mutated Beringel's body was reduced to ash, Merlot's voice was heard on the intercom.

Merlot(Intercom): How...unfortunate. That particular Grimm took several years to properly create.

Yang: Thanks for the compliment. 

Kabuto: I guess now we know what happened in Mountain Glenn. 

Merlot(Intercom): Ah yes. Twas a mere speed bump on the superhighway of scientific progress. You couldn't possibly imagine the ramifications of my latest research.

Weiss: Your "research" is sick. It has no place in Remnant. 

Sasuke: I suggest you walk away while you have the chance. 

Sasuke's comment caused the mad doctor to laugh. 

Merlot(Intercom): What bold words coming from a group of students so far from home. 

Ruby: We're more than a match for your Droids and your Grimm. What you're doing here is wrong!

Merlot(Intercom): Trying to make the world a better place is wrong? Say what you will about me. It won't change the fact that you're powerless to stop me.

Zaku: Oh really? Big talk for someone too scared to come and face us! I'm sure you'll find a way to botch this up!

Merlot(Intercom): Aren't you the eager young man? I suppose we'll see about that.

As Merlot says this, Sasuke and Team RWBY along with Kabuto's team spoke about their next move.

Blake: What's our next move?

Kabuto: Our best bet is the main lab. It's where he'll keep the most dangerous of his experiments. 

Sasuke: Then we better get a move on. 

With that, Sasuke and Team RWBY along with Kabuto's team began moving through the facility. Knowing that the way ahead would no doubt be filled with danger, the Huntsmen would prepare themselves for whatever was in store for them. Meanwhile in his laboratory, Dr. Merlot was looking over the footage of the fight his Mutated Beringel had against the Huntsmen. He was quite curious as to how they were able to best such a powerful creature. But when he was viewing the last moments of the fight, he saw Sasuke initially struggling to shatter the Grimm's mask before destroying it. Upon further inspection, Merlot was able to identify the Curse Mark on Sasuke's neck. 

Merlot: The Curse Mark? Well well well. Making your move already, Orochimaru? Now this just got more interesting. 

With that, Dr. Merlot decided to keep a closer eye on the students, Sasuke particularly. At the same time, he saw an opportunity to test out his other Mutated Grimm.
