On his way to his classroom, Shadow passed a female Eevee talking with a Shinx in a top hat. 

Shadow happened to catch bits of their conversation. 

"...yeah, I think that new kid's name is Shadow." The Shinx said.

"I heard a Jolteon found him and raised him as his own." The Eevee responded.

"Yeah, I heard that, too." The Shinx agreed. 

Then, the Eevee seemed to notice Shadow and said, "Brance! Look! There's Shadow!" 

Brance looked over and said, "Yeah, that's him alright." 

"Hi, Shadow!" The Eevee waved over to Shadow. 

"Uh, hey..." Shadow mumbled and smiled a bit.

As he walked away, he saw the Eevee gushing to the Shinx named Brance. Brance rolled his eyes.

When Shadow arrived to his classroom, a Ninetales greeted him. 

"Hello! You must be Shadow! I am your teacher, Ms. Flame. Your seat is back there in the back left corner. You'll be sitting next to Frost."

Frost was a Shiny Eevee who when Shadow sat down, was picking fur out of his tail.

Shadow had a feeling this Eevee was weird.

"Hello! Hello! You must be Shadow! I've heard a lot about you! I'm sure we will have lots of fun together!" Frost said enthusiastically. 

Shadow rolled his eyes. "Whatever." He said. 

At the end of the day, Shadow saw the Eevee with that Shinx again. 

"Hey! You guys!" Shadow called.

The Eevee looked up. As she saw Shadow, her face turned from content to elated. 

"Hey Shadow! I'm Pearl, by the way! This is Brance." Pearl told him.

Brance tipped his hat to Shadow.

"Where are you guys going?" Shadow asked. 

"Oh, we're going to the hot dog stand we found on Route 26. Want to come?" Pearl asked him.

Shadow nodded. "Sure, I'll come. It's not like I have any other thing to do today." He told them.

And the three Pokémon went off for some juicy hot dogs.
