ch 4; the mining expedition
Really quickly IM NOT MAKING FUN OF NOTCH! Some might think that with how he is in this book. I made him like that to add a funny character. I HIGHLY respect Notch.

"Okay. Here are your pics." Marshal handed them wooden picaxes.
"What are we doing?" Notch asked.
"First. Mine some stone. Preferably 13 pieces. 8 for a furnace, 3 for a better pic that you will need, and 2 for a sword."
"Uh... Will we need a crafting table?" Notch asked.
"Yes. To craft things. I also brought the...wait... oh. 10 sticks for the pic and sword... each of you will need three... and one will be left." Marshal mentally slapped himself. He couldn't believe how he had made that mistake. It was a small thing yes, but it just got him. He usually brings the perfect amount when he is teaching. Maybe with there being 3 it threw him off.
"Oh. My. Gawd!" Neil exclaimed.
"What!" Marshal said.
"Iron! This high!" Neil exclaimed.
{I'm sorry if it's deeper and not as common as it is on desktop than it is w/ mcpe. I can only play it on my ipod}
"Mine it!" Marshal said.
"Can't." Neil said simply.
"Why?"
"I don't even have a wooden picaxe. Nor do I have anything really..." Neil answered.
"Okay. Um. Names?" Marshal looked at the brothers.
"Uh... hang on.... What was the question again?" Notch said.
Steve rolled his eyes. "Notch here is the oldest, I'm the middle, my name is Steve, and the youngest is Herobrine here." He pointed to who was who when he said their names. "And yes. You can tell me and Herobrine apart now because Lizzie put a beautiful flower in my hair!" He grabbed the flower and showed it to Marshal and admired it for a few seconds before he put it back in his hair.
"Okay. All of you come here. I will show you how to mine." Marshal walked towards where Neil found the Iron. "Before I show you how to mine this," he gestured towards the Iron with his head, " you will mine the stone first. You can't mine Iron with a wooden picaxe. You can only mine stone and coal, which is fuel for the furnace, with a wooden one. You need a stone pic to mine Iron.
"You need to do what I show you in order to do it. Now, watch this." He took out another wooden picaxe and walked towards stone he started mining it. Soon there was a little block in his hands. But it wasn't stone.
"Why does it have cracks in it?" Herobrine asked.
"It is now cobblestone. It's what stone turns into when you mine it. Now go ahead and mine a piece, Notch. After Notch, Steve, after Steve, Herobrine."
Notch walked up to the stone confidently. If he was awesome at building, he could do anything. Right?
He started mining. It didn't go out in one shot like the wood had.
Perhaps it's stronger? Notch thought as he kept mining. After a minute, Michael interrupted.
"Uh... maybe mining isn't your thing." Marshal said. He walked over and finished mining it for him. Steve walked up.
He started mining. It a little faster than average. Marshal nodded at Steve and them motioned for Herobrine to go.
It took Herobrine exactly the average amount to mine it. Marshal nodded again.
"Good. Now, Herobrine and Steve, mine 12 more pieces. Notch, I brought a stack just in case. Here." He handed Notch 13 pieces. Herobrine and Steve went to work.
2 minutes later, Steve finished and Herobrine finished right after. Marshal set down the crafting table. Notch perked up. He was awesome at crafting. Steve stayed the same in feelings. Herobrine however didn't fell as happy as he did.
"Notch go ahead." Marshal said. Notch walked up to the crafting table. He didn't wait for the recipe for the things. As quick as a bullet, he place 8 cobble all around the edges, stuck 2 sticks in the middle with 3 cobble at the top, and 1 stick at the bottom with 2 sticks on top.
When he was done held up a furnace, stone pic, and a stone sword. Marshal didn't realize his jaw was dropped and his mouth was open. He quickly shut his mouth.
"Um... Steve your turn!" Marshal said. Steve walked up to the crafting table. Marshal told him the recipes and he done it right. Once again at average.
"Okay. Herobrine! Your turn! I bet your good at crafting since your brothers are." Marshal said. It kinda hurt Herobrine's feelings. He couldn't craft.
Herobrine nodded anyways. You can do this. He thought over and over again. A minute passed. Marshal finally got tired of watching.
"Let me... finish it up..." Marshal said, getting up. He grabbed all of the supplies and crafted the sword, pic, and furnace. He handed them to Herobrine. Herobrine sighed and took them.
"Okay. Notch mine one piece. Steve, mine one beside him. Hero, mine one next to Steve." Marshal instructed. The 3 nodded. They walked up to the Iron and mined.
Steve finished first, right after was Herobrine, but Notch only made a crack.
"Okay... Um, Notch, take a break Neil will finish your job." Marshal said. Notch huffed but walked away. Marshal handed Neil his stone pic that he had when they came. He brought tons of pics.
Neil sighed. "Fine. Ill do it." Neil grabbed the pic out of Marshal's hand. He walked to where notch was.
"Okay! You guys mine the rest of it and then... I think it will be time to go back to the surface." Marshal said. Steve and Herobrine nodded, while Neil groaned.
Marshal watched as they mined. Steve finished first and Herobrine and Neil finished right after at almost the same time.
It took about 15 minutes. But when they was done, it was worth it. They had 21 Iron!
"Okay guys! Since you mined it, you keep it! Split it up between you guys thought." Marshal said once they were on the surface again.
"How many do we each get?" Steve asked.
"7." Marshal said. "But, Neil, your 7 goes to Notch."
Instead of fighting, he just nodded.
They made it to Marshal's house. Sidney was standing on the porch. It was getting close to night.
"There you are! The lesson is finally done! Come one. We need to go to the person for combat lessons." Sidney said once they were in earshot.
"Okay!" The brothers and Neil said. With that, they walked off following Sidney.
