Part 5

A girl about my age comes down the stairs. "Miss? I was told to bring down a dress for you." She holds out the dress. It was plain with an ugly green color with frilly sleeves.

"Ew! Do I actually have to put this on?!" I ask with a burning glare. She looks down a the green abomination. She raises her brown eyebrows.

"It's very common between the women for the working class," She says with conviction, " It's very cheap, but beautiful!" The young woman nods her head.

"Ya, sure, whatever. But my problem is," I explain while I point to myself, "Will I have to wear it?" She tilts her head back and laughs wholeheartedly.

"Of course! The Lord commanded it so it must be done." I frown, not liking the situation I am in. Not one bit. I look at the revolting dress in her hands, and hesitantly grab it. Fine. The woman looks at me expectantly and waits for me to change.

"Uhh, could I have some privacy?" It takes a moment, but realisation rolls onto her face and she blushes pink.

"Oh, o-of course." She quickly hurries out of the cell. Geez, these people wouldn't know privacy even if it had a name tag and punched them in a not so pretty place.

I take off my jeans and t-shirt and slip into the dress. It's material felt a potato sack. The corset cut off my circulation and I could feel my organs bunching closer together. The sleeves tickled my arms with the frills, and the color didn't help improve the look of the dress either.

"Excuse me? I'm done!" In a heartbeat, she appears in the doorway.

"See," she says almost mockingly," It's not that bad." I sigh impatiently.

"What do I do with these?" I show her my old clothes.

"What peculiar clothes..." She grabs them and throws them in the trash bin without context. "Someone will come and let you out later." With that she walks back upstairs and closes the door. When she closed the door, the last of the light disappears with her.

Maybe about an hour later, the door opens again. The person doesn't make their appearance a secret. It was the guard that had recently guarded my cell door. At least I think so.

The armour conceals any differences between them.

I stand up quickly. In their hands were a set of keys. Keys that held my freedom. I did a little jig and got prepared to be set free. But alas, my hope fades when the guard walks to the cell beside me. I quietly sit down again and pout, waiting to get out.

A few minutes later a new guard (At least I think it was) came and sat in front of my small jail.

Hours later I sang about 50 different songs starting from Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen to It Smells like Teenage Spirt by Nirvana. Everyone by now should know about half of them.

I went on my knees and prayed to the heavens for my release. Dear God, I want out of here. It Smells like pee, and I'm pretty sure that my cell mate doesn't have a cat, if you get what I mean. I also will like to pray for my sanity while I'm in the weird place. Thanks G, Harley.

I heard the change in a lock mechanism. And my prayer was answered. I raise my head and see that my cell is open.

My eyes widen. I stood up with so much vigor that I trip over my potato sack of a dress. I quickly get up and tread slowly towards the door. After so much time! Once I step outside the door slams behind me.

So much excitement was building up inside of me, that I had the silly notion to dab. The guard looked at me like I had a seizure right in front of him. "What was that?" the guard asks.

"Huh?" I tilt my head. "Everyone knows what the dab is!" I exclaim.

"Preposterous! I have never heard of it!"

"The dab is so lit!"

"Lit? But your not burned Miss."

"Dude you have to get on my level!"

"We are standing on the same level of ground."

"Do you at least know what the whip is?"

"Yes, it's a piece of leather that is used for punishment ." I snort at the way the guard words it. He looks even more confused than before.

"No, the whip is," I show the confused guard the whip, "this."

"I do not think that is the correct whip."

"Oh, I'm sure this is the correct whip." I nod, then sigh. This isn't going anywhere, I need to show him the ultimate move. "Can you nae nae?"

"Nay?"

  "No, nae nae."

  "What the horses make?"

"N- you know what? Forget this." I would rather not be in this jail for any longer.

I climb the stairs and open the doors with the guard following behind me. I wave the guard goodbye, which he ignores. For a second my vision was blinded by the sun but it was quickly cleared. The sight before me was... disappointing. I saw many maids, butlers, and other people in uniform. So... Where exactly do they want me to go? They could've at least told me to make up for them kidnapping me. I thoughtlessly wandered about, thinking about random things. Did I leave the oven on? Have I catched up on all my shows on Netflix? Did Melanie ever find a life? Did I remember to buy eggs?

Eventually, though, I find eggs, in a very busy kitchen I manage to enter.

"Get out of the way!" A male voice yells, but I was too late. A hard body hit into mine and I slide across the floor linoleum  floor.

"CRAPSICILES!" I exclaim. I look up and see contents of a mixing bowl all over me and the floor. I wasn't really sad to see the dress ruined; I welcome the satisfaction of it being unwearable and I hope I would be able to get a new wardrobe.

"Oh my, miss, Are you ok?" the male asks.

"Ugh..." I mumble.

"Oh Erik!" A brunette appears in my vision. "What did you do?" she glances at me with surprise

"Nothing!" The man answers. "She just popped up out of nowhere! I was just trying to bring the bowl of cake batter to the oven and I hit into her." The woman then looks down at me.

"Honey, are you alright? You have a bloody ton of batter on yourself. Let's go get you another dress."

She grabs me by my arms and pulls me up closer to her. I look over at both the man who was called Erik, and the woman, which I don't know the name to. I smiled deliriously at the both of them and say, " I ship it.."

"Uh, ok... Well, we should get you changed." She smiles at me and leads me down a separate hallway, away from the bustling kitchen.
