(Y/n)'s POV
So according to my Master, I almost died—again—and I had no idea.
"Are you lying?" I asked him suspiciously, folding my arms over my chest, "Because I feel like you're trying to mess with me."
I was fine, more than fine. I felt like I had gotten the best sleep of my life despite it only being an hour or two. And who would feel that way after supposedly almost dying? Even my hangover was completely cured.
He tilted his head with an annoyed expression, "Why the hell would I lie about something like that? For laughs? That makes no damn sense (y/n)," Okay he has a point, but he doesn't need to be aggressive about it, "The antidote that was given to you is what saved you, and it's good that you're feeling fine. So now that I know you're okay, I can focus on other things while you go back upstairs and put on your robes." He eyed my slightly revealing pajamas.
"Was it you who saved me?" I asked, ignoring his comment, I would like to know who it is that deserves my thanks.
"Um," He shifted uncomfortably and gave Padme and Typho a small glance, they were on the couch and Padme was tending to his wound that, is not as bad as it looks — according to him, "Not exactly, but before you start attacking me with multiple questions," He held his finger up when he saw I was just about to ask him for clarification. It's only been a few days and he already knows what to expect from me, "I'll explain everything to you later, but for now I need my focus to remain here." He gestured to Moteé who was still unconscious and tied to a chair.
The council has been informed of what happened and they're sending people over for her arrest which will then lead to a trial, but that was going to take a few hours. So for now, Anakin was planning to question her himself and get a better understanding of everything that's been going on behind closed doors.
"Okay," I gave in with a sigh and pushed my curiosity down - for now. He already told me that he would explain everything after we brought Moteé downstairs, and now there's this excuse. I'm starting to suspect that he's trying to avoid telling me something. He can only find so many excuses before I push him into a corner and get my answers.
"Now go up and change into your robes, and also bring a cup of water when you come back," He instructed me, "No wait, two cups of water." He corrected him while holding up two fingers.
"You can say please," I raised my brow at him. He's supposed to be a grown man yet has zero mannerisms.
He rolled his eyes with a sigh before looking at me again, "Okay, please get in your robes and bring me two cups of water," He said with the fakest smile I've ever seen in my life. I hated how he said it, but I was going to accept it anyway because I considered it progress. If this was day one of our growing relationship, he probably would have told me to stick my lightsaber where the suns don't shine.
"That wasn't so hard now was it?" I spun on my heels, "I'll be back soon," I left the living room area and turned down the hall to head for the stairs.
"It's nice to see that there is someone you actually like who isn't yourself," Padme said before I could walk far enough to miss it. The way she said it wasn't in a condescending way either, it was like she was trying to make a joke to lighten the gloomy atmosphere.
"I don't like her, she's a pain in the ass," Anakin scoffed in defense to her statement, "And where did you get like from any of that?"
"She's a sweet girl Anakin, you just like to be difficult," Padme defended me with a sigh.
"No, she's just annoying." He countered.
I continued to walk so I didn't have to listen to him shit talk me behind my back, "Asshole," I mumbled, strutting up the stairs.
For me to almost have died via poisoning, he seems to not care that much. At least I showed I cared when I thought he was dead after waking up, it terrified me to think I lost another Master. But here he is insulting me less than an hour later like he was hoping for a different outcome.
After quickly getting dressed, I went down to the kitchen and started to fill up two glasses of water from the tap. As I waited, my eyes traveled to the window that was above the sink and I gazed out at the field that surrounded the lake house. It must be gorgeous to be able to live in a place like this and see this scenery everyday. On one side of the house is an entire forest to explore and on the other was a beautiful sight of the lake, both connecting to each other with small waves that rode up the dirt leading into the trees.
I snapped myself away from the view after feeling my hand's temperature drop. I looked down and I saw the water pouring over the top of the glass, wetting my hand and soaking the sleeve of my robe, "Damn it," I sighed after turning it off and pouring some of the water out.
Then I dried my sleeve as much as I could before I called it quits and took the two cups to Anakin — it'll dry on its own eventually.
I waltzed into the living room, which caught everyone's attention, and the conversation they were having when I walked in ceased, "My apologies, did I walk in on a private conversation?" I uttered sarcastically.
More of his shit talking perhaps?
Anakin shook his head and took one of the cups from my hand, "No, we were just discussing this situation," He took a sip of the water before walking towards Moteé — of course he's not going to say thank you, "The one you're holding is for you by the way, drink it." He demanded.
"But I'm not thirsty right now," I set the cup down on the coffee table that was in-front of Padme and Captain Typho. His bandage looked done and he had his head leaning back against the couch with his eyes closed.
"Just drink it (y/n)."
I could easily just drink it to avoid any further disputes. But he was being unnecessarily aggressive about it and he also called me both 'a pain in the ass' and 'annoying' when I wasn't in the room - so I was feeling petty, "No."
Anakin snapped his head in my direction, "Do you always have to be difficult about every little thing I ask you to do?" He said in an annoyed tone, "Your body has been through something traumatic whether you have any recollection of it or not. So drink the water, it'll be good for you."
"Oh my bad, I didn't realize you cared. You know, since I'm such an annoying pain in the ass," I picked up the cup and drank the smallest sip that I could with a loud slurp.
He glared at me while pressing his tongue to the inside of his cheek, "No," He shook his head, "I'm not gonna deal with your attitude right now," He turned away from me to face Moteé. I rolled my eyes just as he threw his cup of water onto her to wake her up.
The traitor shot her eyes open and leaned forward as she coughed out the small amounts of water that she accidentally inhaled.
"Rise and shine," Anakin aggressively slammed the empty cup onto the table.
It took a few moments for her to compose herself, but eventually she was breathing normally and her angry, yet nervous gaze was on my Master, "Get away from me you psych-"
Anakin raised his fist and closed it, sealing her mouth shut, "Shut up, I have someone here who has questions for you." As he said this, Padmé was on her feet and she stood by him, staring at Moteé with hurt and betrayal glistening in her eyes.
Moteé refused to look at Padme, instead keeping her eyes on Anakin, "I'm not going to tell any of you anything, and now your padawan-"
"Is sitting two feet to my right, healthy," He cut her off. So I guess she really did poison me.
Her head snapped in my direction, "What—but how?"
"Moteé, was it really you who placed a bounty on my head?" Padme choked on her words, tears filling her eyes, "Please tell me it's not."
Moteé still refused to look at her, and glared down at the floor instead, "The Senate has done nothing during this war besides take our money and sit in high chairs without lifting a finger to really help. Homes are being destroyed, children are starving to death, there's hardly any clean water in certain areas. And then there's you, talking to me everyday about making a change, stopping the war, bringing peace," She spat angrily, "Yet you've done nothing, and now I have no daughter."
"I'm so sorry about your daughter," Padme bent down and placed her hand on Moteé's knee. Even after being betrayed this way, she still has it in her to be compassionate — that's the sign of a truly good person, "But I promise you, I'm trying. I've been doing nothing but trying my hardest for the people, there's just no one who wants to listen to me." She shrugged as a tear rolled down her cheek.
Moteé closed her eyes, "The Senate is corrupted, I and so many can now see it. The rich are being cared for and getting their homes and lives rebuilt, while the poor die in the street," She scoffed, "They need more than a try Ms.Amidala."
I listened intently to what Moteé was saying, this is a point of view of this war that I've never had. And now I see just how much damage we, the soldiers, are doing to people. We're hurting them by trying to protect them, and that was a devastating thing to learn.
Anakin sighed as he stepped in, "Who should we be expecting Moteé? I heard you on the phone talking to someone about taking Padmè. Who was it and where were you planning to take her? And why take her if your initial plan was for her to die, why not kill her here?" He folded his arms over his chest and waited for her to answer his millions of questions.
And they were all good questions, but something about them irked me and that's because now I just caught this bastard in a lie. A very important one.
Moteé kept her mouth shut, showing zero intentions of saying anything about her partners, so I took it as my time to say something, "The conversation I recorded was not at all what you told me it was, was it?" I said aloud, causing my Master's head to snap in my direction, "You lied to me."
The guilt in his eyes let me know that I was right, but I already knew I shouldn't be expecting an apology from him, "That doesn't matter right now (y/n)," He looked away and tried to brush me off by going back to questioning her.
"Doesn't matter? You just told me that this woman tried to kill me after I drank something that she brought me," I stood up, angry and holding back a raised voice, "Something I never would have accepted if I knew she couldn't be trusted. But you told me she could be," He looked back to me, as did Moteé and Padme, "Do you not realize how wrong you were for that? I could've not been here right now and that would have been your fault."
If I didn't know any better, I would say that my words hurt him, "I thought I was protecting you."
"Well you did the complete opposite," I walked away and of course, he didn't even try to stop me, nor make any attempt to apologize.
I pushed open the door that led outside and looked up at the sky with a deep breath. Maybe this partnership really was a mistake, I think it's time I make my own case to Master Yoda to remove myself from it. I'd rather not have a Master than have someone who doesn't take me or any of my training seriously.
I glanced down with a sigh and my eyes caught something black far off in the distance, but it was only for a moment before it was gone.

Anakin's POV
"Anakin she's in pain," Padme stated the obvious in a concerned voice over the sound of Moteé's screaming.
"Of course she is," I rolled my eyes with them closed, "This isn't a pleasant experience when it's being fought against, but if she would calm down," I slightly raised my voice, "It would only feel like a minor headache."
Moteé didn't want to talk, so I decided to go in and get the information myself. So far I haven't figured out much, except that the reason she attacked earlier than she said was because she panicked that I might've heard her conversation prior to knocking the other night.
"Please stop," Moteé cried just as I learned that she was planning to take Padme instead of killing her because she wanted to sell her to slavery. It was her way of trying to make her suffer like everyone else has — poetic justice she called it.
I snapped my eyes open and met her teary ones, "Then tell me everything voluntarily."
"Fine," She finally gave in and I removed my hands from her temples. She sniffled as she dropped her head down, "No one is coming, I was supposed to take her and bring her to someone else. They didn't want to risk coming here because of you."
"Who was on the phone?" I demanded. I basically had the answer to all my questions except that one. And I also plan to ask for the identity of each person involved in this conspiracy against the Senate.
She slowly looked up, "Bail Organa."
Padmé's eyes widened and she placed her hand over her chest, "But he's in the Senate."
Moteé nodded, "Makes it easier for him to see the corruption. Unlike the rest of you who turn a blind eye."
Padme dropped her hand down and breathed in a long inhale, "How many more of my friends want me dead?" She whispered, although the question felt more to herself than directed to anyone else.
"You're not the only Senator on the list, so don't feel special." The traitor rolled her eyes.
"Hey," I snapped, moving Padme out of the way so she would stop tormenting herself by engaging in this conversation further, "This war is the Separatists fault, not the Senates and definitely not Padmé's. You all just want to find someone to blame and so you chose the easiest target to send your poorly aimed message—"
I paused and gripped the chair she was sitting in to keep myself from falling over, I was randomly hit with a dizzy spell.
"Anakin are you alright?" Padme placed her hand on my shoulder.
I shrugged her hand off, "I'm fine, it's just been a rough morning," I swallowed before giving my attention back to Moteé who was staring straight into my eyes.
"You're not, you have a concussion." She said confidently.
She could be right, I hit my head multiple times — hard, thanks to our visitor who clearly doesn't like me, but seems to like my padawan enough to save her life. "I'll deal with it later, but for now, I want you to tell me the name of everyone involved."
She shook her head, "It's just Bail."
Without having any more patience, I shot my hand forward and gripped her neck. I didn't grab her hard either, she could still breathe fine, I was simply trying to scare her, "Stop with your damn lies and tell me before I go back in and split your mind in two looking for the answer."
Tears filled her eyes and I could feel Padme tugging on my arm that didn't move in the slightest, "Mon Mothma," She whimpered and I loosened my hold on her neck, "It's Bail Organa and Mon Mothma."

Hope you didn't find this one to be too boring, I swear I have more interesting things coming, this was just a little side plot since I wanted them to get closer to each other(the sharing a room and bed trip was too tempting to ignore) and to start a bond between Padme and y/n.
This is still just the beginning ❤️
