Training Session
✦
(Y/n)'s POV
I loved my new room. Not only was I next to my best friend, but it was a lot bigger than my old one. It also came with my own personal bathroom so I wouldn't have to use the community one anymore, and I even got an upgrade to a Queen sized bed - when what I used to have was a small twin.
And it was a hundred times more comfortable. So it's safe to say that I knocked out the second my head hit the soft pillow.
But my dream-less sleep was short lived when I was awoken by a light tapping on the door, followed by a small voice, "(y/n)," Ahsoka whispered, "Are you awake?"
I couldn't help the smile that crept across my lips; of course she couldn't wait a single day to take advantage of our new arrangements.
I slowly got out of the bed with a yawn and rubbed my eyes as I walked to my door and waved it open, "I am now." I said, leaning into the doorway.
She nudged her head down the hall, "Want to raid the kitchens?"
I raised my brows, "On the first night?" I chuckled quietly, glancing behind her at the door that had my Masters name on it, "I want him to like me Ahsoka, not hate me more than he already does."
She shrugged, "He and Master Kenobi turned their lights off hours ago, they're asleep so they'll never know. And he doesn't hate you (y/n), he just hasn't learned how awesome you are yet." She spoke with positivity, as always.
As if on cue, my stomach began to growl. I was so nervous earlier about meeting Skywalker that dinner was out of the question, so yes, I was famished.
I sighed, "Fine," I used the force to bring my robe to me from its rack and placed it on, "But let's be quick and bring it back here, I don't want to risk being gone too long." Usually we'd sit in the mess hall by ourselves and talk as we eat, but I thought it'd be the smarter choice to bring it back here. With less time away, there's a less likely chance they'll realize we're gone.

"Those sneaky little lothcats," Ahsoka pulled out a box of cookies from one of the many hidden compartments. Sometimes the ones working in the kitchens hide their own personal stash, but with the amount of time we spend in here - we learned each secret location.
I shook my head, "And they had the nerve to tell me they were all out." It's not like we're stealing what they bought themselves, that's not something we'd do. Most of what they have hidden is stuff they greedily stole to keep for themselves — we're just taking it back.
She tossed the cookies to me, knowing the snickerdoodles were my favorite. Then proceeded to dig her hand back in and pull out a bag of bantha biscuits - her favorite.
"Do you want anything else? They have chips in here as well." She asked, looking up at me.
I shook my head and hugged the bag of cookies to my chest, "No this will be fine until breakfast in a few hours. I just need something to stop my stomach from growling," I opened the bag and pulled out a single cookie, taking a bite.
She nodded as she closed the compartment and stood up with a grin as she held her stolen food, "Perfect, let's go."
I had a cookie already in my mouth and Ashoka was munching on her biscuit as we both headed for the door, and just as it opened - we froze mid bites with wide eyes.
There, waiting for us on the other side of the doorway was Master Skywalker, and he did not look happy, "What do you two think you're doing?" His gaze shifted between us both, but his glare mainly lingered on me. I could practically see the loathing in them, I don't care what Ahsoka says - this man hates having me as his new burden.
Ahsoka swallowed her bite and cleared her throat, "You know, just getting those carbs in for the work out we're going to have tomorrow."
I slowly nodded in agreement, "Yeah what she said," I subtly took another bite of my cookie, causing his eyes to narrow at me. Not a smart move on my part I know, but I was officially starving at this point.
"Well," He checked his watch, then folded his arms over his chest, "Since you both clearly have the energy, and you've already had your breakfast," This is what he would call breakfast? "Let's start training a little early today."
Both of our eyes widened, "It's four in the morning," I exclaimed. I was planning to snack a little and then get back to sleep before my alarm went off that was set for six am. I wasn't sure what time he would want to start so I opted for the time that the sun began to rise.
"And?" He retorted with attitude, "I'm your Master now, remember? So what I say, goes. So you better hurry up and change and meet me in the training room in ten minutes," He demanded, shifting his gaze to Ahsoka with a smirk, "You too."
"You are not my Master," She argued, which only made his smirk widen.
"True," He took one step closer, "But Obi-Wan had asked me before we parted ways earlier to bring you along for my training session with her," He nudged his head towards me, not even bothering to use my name as if I wasn't worthy of it parting from his lips, "He has business with the council. So you're mine until noon." He unfolded his arms and raised both his hands - one hand he used the force to pull the bag of cookies from my grasp, and in the other he took Ahsoka's biscuits, "You can have these back when we're done, and now you have eight minutes - don't be late."
✦
The training session with Master Skywalker was going exactly how I expected it to go. He was ruthless, and not at all going easy on us. Not that I would want him to go easy, but he was being excessively harsh on me at some points. Almost like he was trying to drive me away.
"The Captain of my battalion was nice enough to lend this to me," He held a blaster in his hand and began to twist it around his finger next to the trigger. Ahsoka and I watched him as we breathed heavily from the rigorous cardio we just endured, "Which is the 501st," He said, looking at me and letting me know which battalion I was going to be working close with, "Now I know only one of you has experience out there, but the other doesn't, and so this is what you're going to be expecting." Instantly, he aimed the blaster at Ahsoka and fired.
Both our eyes widened, not expecting him to actually fire it at us. And before Ahsoka could defend herself, the blast shot stopped just in front of her chest - he had caught it with the force.
"Congratulations, you've just been killed by a droid," He flicked his hand upwards so the blast could fly up and hit the ceiling.
She groaned in frustration, "I didn't think you would actually shoot me."
He rolled his eyes as he began twisting the blaster once again, "That doesn't matter, your reflexes should have saved you, but instead, you just stood there." He aimed it her again and shot another blast.
This time, I was ready for it and so I ignited my amethyst blade and placed it in front of her. I blocked the shot and it was directed back to him. He tilted his head to the side, dodging it with little to no effort - there wasn't even a change in his facial expression.
"See," He said, straightening his neck out, "I wasn't expecting that, but I still had no problem sensing it and moving out of the way." His gaze was now on me, "Your turn." He shot at me and I deflected it with ease.
Then he did it again, and again, and again. And each time I parried the attacks without even moving from the position I was in. I smirked arrogantly when he was done.
"Hm," He hummed with an intrigued look in his eyes, tossing the blaster to the side and it hit the padded floor, "I want you to come at me." He closed his eyes.
"You want me to what?" I knitted my brows.
"You heard me," He said as he kept his eyes closed and placed both hands behind his back, "Just come over here and give it your best shot — try to get me off my feet without using any weapons or a force push or pull."
I'm not exactly sure what this is teaching me since not a single enemy would just stand there and let me attack. But I also don't know the methods to his madness, so I obliged, hoping I'd understand at some point.
I did as he said, but I decided to take a quiet approach. I didn't want him to hear me as I went around him and attempted to attack him from behind. And just as I lunged at him, he moved and I fell forward - flat on my face.
I heard him laugh and I looked up to meet his amused gaze, "Try again Padawan."
I sighed as I placed my hands on the mat and pushed myself up in a push up position. I went back to the same spot next to Ahsoka and that's when she came closer to me, "He didn't say you couldn't use force stealth." She whispered close to my ear, aiding me just as I aided her moments ago.
Force stealth, the act of concealing one's force abilities and even one's presence all together. It's a smart move, but sadly, not something I have come close to perfecting. It's actually what Master Ti was in the midst of teaching me before losing her life.
I only got it right one time. But I figured it was worth a shot. I took a deep breathe and closed my eyes, playing Master Ti's teachings in my mind, before attempting to conceal myself.
You are one with the force, think of it as an essence that is coursing through your body and mind - binding itself to you. It is yours and you can use it to aid you in many ways, including concealment as if you were never there. This can help you greatly in the future.
I opened my eyes yes and slowly and quietly moved to the left of my Master. I took small steps towards him and soon, I was so close to him that I could smell his cologne. He has yet to open his eyes to acknowledge me, leading me to believe he had no idea I was there.
I held my breath and brought my lips close to his ear with a smirk, "Boo." I whispered before kicking his back leg and knocking him down.
He fell to the floor on one knee and made no noise of surprise or anger. Instead, he kept his head down and eyes closed as he raised his hand to the right, calling the blaster back to him. Once it was in his palm in less than a second, he aimed it forward at Ahsoka and fired. She was able to deflect it this time and as my worry and attention was on her, I felt the barrel of the gun under my chin as my Master slowly stood up.
Our eyes were locked and our faces were closer than ever, "Just because you think you have the upper hand, doesn't mean you always do. So don't get cocky with your skills Padawan, it can be the death of you." He removed the weapon from under my chin and looked to Ahsoka, "And nice job actually defending yourself this time."
"Thank you Master Skywalker," She said with a smile to her voice, proud of herself for being prepared that time. I'm not sure if she understood that he was being condescending rather than encouraging, but I wasn't going to kill her moment.
My Master backed away from me with the blaster in hand, his attention back on me, "Force stealth is a complex skill so I applaud you for your attempt, but it was weak and I saw right through it. You overthink too much, just do it and don't worry about trying to succeed. The force is apart of you like the blood in your veins, it bends to your every will. But if you're uncertain, it will react with uncertainty."
I blinked a few times in surprise, for someone not wanting to train me - he's doing a hell of a job so far, "Thank you Master."
"Whatever," He rolled his eyes, "Your turn snippy," He placed the blaster on his belt this time and put his hands behind his back with closed eyes, "Give it your best shot."
