A Pattern

(Y/n)'s POV
Anakin laughed at me when I told him about my morning, "He had you mediate for two hours?" While I laid on his bed, he stood at his workbench. Although he was maintaining a conversation with me, his focus was mostly on his project, "That's excessive, even for him."

"You're telling me," I had the perfect spot to watch him, "What happened to your lightsaber?"

"It isn't mine," He answered, picking it up and examining it closely, "Luke asked me to fix it for him, says he dropped it." All I could see of him was the side of his face. Just enough to see his dramatic eye roll.

"You say that like you don't believe him," I rolled off his bed before standing and walking up to him from behind. I hugged him and he stopped what he was doing just so he could place his arms on mine and hug me back. I don't think I'll ever get used to this.

"I don't," He finally said, "Look at the damage, if he dropped it then it was from space to the planet floor." He exaggerated.

Curious now, I removed my arms from around him and walked around so I was at the other side of the bench, "Let me see," I took it from his grasp and held it up, my brows furrowing, "How odd, his lightsaber looks exactly like mine." We all build our lightsabers as younglings, meaning each one is unique. So for two to be nearly identical was uncanny.

"Do you see anything?" He asked.

I broke my gaze from the object to look at him, "You mean other than the cracks?"

He chuckled, "No, I mean see anything, like an echo. Something to tell us how he really damaged it."

"Oh," I understood, then shook my head as I placed it down, "No, it decides to make an entrance whenever it pleases." I haven't figured out how to control it just yet. We've been too occupied by the countless obstacles that have blocked our way. Training hasn't been at the top of the list lately, "You know, he could be telling the truth. You're so hard on the poor guy."

"Believe what you want, but something about him feels off to me," He hummed, picking it back up from the table and eyeing it with narrowed brows, "Let me see yours for a moment." He held it his hand until I did as he requested and placed my weapon in his palm. He held them next to each other, examining both closely, "They do look identical, but his seems much older and worn out."

"Enough work for now," I took them both from him and set them off to the side, "There's been something I've been meaning to ask you."

He rested his palms on the bench and leaned forward, brining his face closer to mine with a sweet smile, "Yes, you can join me in my bed tonight."

I shook my head, breathing a small laugh, "That's not what I was going to ask, but I accept the offer," I smirked, "What I really was going to ask was, how did you know here to find me?" I was out in the middle of nowhere on a planet neither of us have ever heard about, so how was I found as quickly as I was?

His sweet smile fell and he removed his hands from the table, standing straight, "Does that really matter? You're home, that's all that should matter."

I folded my arms over my chest, "Ani, what did you do?"

"I—" He wouldn't look me in the eyes, "Ahsoka and I went to Dathomir and made a deal with the night sisters."

"And this deal was?" I persisted when he stopped talking.

"In exchange for your location, we promised we would find her son and return her to him. Alive."

"Why were you nervous to tell me that?" I asked, confused on how off-putting his demeanor had become.

"It's not that I was nervous to tell you," He sighed heavily, "It's that I can't keep that promise."

"Why can't you?" Going back on your word against the nights sisters is perhaps one of the dumbest moves any soul could make.

Instead of answering my question, he held up a finger and his eyes shifted to the door. Quickly he opened it, not giving the little spy on the other side of the door a chance to run away, "What are you doing?" He asked, raising a brow.

"You've been hogging her since she got back, it's my turn," Ahsoka barged in the room and grabbed my arm, immediately pulling me out. She was strong for a little thing, very strong, "Sorry to pull you out like that, but this is an emergency."

Anakin shouted for us, but we turned the corner. His voice drowned out. My attention was now on the eyes we were getting from our peers as we sprinted down the hall as if we were under attack, "Ahsoka, what is going on?" I asked, confused. I saw her momentarily on the ship after my rescue, but I was too much in a state of shock to appreciate her company.

"I need your help," Her hold on me tightened and eventually we found ourselves in a room loaded with ships. Nearly everyone's ship was here, including Anakins.

"No, absolutely not." I pulled away from her knowing she was about to take me on one of these ships, "Ahsoka as much as I would love a fun getaway with you, I just went through hell and Anakin will—"

She covered my mouth quickly with her palm. She shushed, "Keep it down, I don't know who's in here," She looked around for a moment before letting go, "I'm not looking for a fun getaway (y/n). This is a serious mission and you are the only person I can trust to come with me."

I furrowed my brows, confused, "If this is a mission then why are you not going with your Master?"

She sighed, glancing down at the floor momentarily before meeting my gaze again, "I wasn't exactly assigned to it and when I brought it up to Master Kenobi he dismissed me. He said the council is working on it, but they're not. I know they're not."

"What is this mission?"

With desperation in her eyes she said, "Cal is missing."

"And you know this as a fact?" As tired as I was, now I was interested. Another padawan missing, could this be related to how I went missing?

She nodded eagerly, "He left with his Master last night and then this morning, only his Master came back." She held up her finger when I was about to speak to keep me silent, "I know you're going to say that doesn't mean he's missing. But after you went missing, I went on a search and found a pattern of missing Padawans. All being taken and never heard from again. Not counting you, there have been over a dozen and they've all been taken for the same planet, Felucia."

"Which I'm guessing is where Cal and his Master were headed yesterday," I stated, knowing I didn't have to ask.

"Yes."

I sighed heavily. "I shouldn't," I rubbed my temples to soothe an oncoming headache, "I'm still recovering Ahsoka. I don't know if I have it in me to do this." It's not that I don't want to help Cal and the others if they are connected, I just don't think I have the strength after what I just went through. For likely being unconscious my entire time gone, I was incredibly exhausted and so many parts of my body ached.

"I know you're tired and I'm so sorry to drag you into this. I'd ask my Master or even yours, but they won't do this without council approval and Master Kenobi already forbade me from looking more into this," She sighed heavily, "I'm going with or without you (y/n). I'm just really hoping it's with."

I sighed next, knowing I wouldn't be able to live with myself if she went off and did this alone, "I'm taking a nap the entire ride there."

She quickly hugged me, "Thank you," She whispered into my ear before parting from the hug and grabbing my arm to pull me onto a ship I recognized to be Master Kenobi's.

Anakin is going to kill me.

Anakin's POV
Without knocking, Obi-wan barged into my room, "Have you seen Ahsoka? We were suppose to start training half an hour ago, but she didn't slow up and now I can't find her anywhere."

I looked up from Luke's lightsaber, "She was here about twenty minutes ago." I rolled my eyes, "She grabbed (y/n) and ran out of here to go god knows where." Which reminds me, I need to put the tracker back on her the next time I see her. I ignited Luke's lightsaber and it stayed on for a few seconds before fizzling out, "Fucking piece of—"

"Anakin," Obi-Wan warned. He always hated when I used profanity.

"Don't you have a padawan to find?" I snapped. I was annoyed I was having trouble with this project, he really messed it up. He's better off with a new one in my opinion. But I made a deal and I'm going to stick with it, even if I don't sleep.

A laugh caused me to shoot my gaze up towards my door. It didn't belong to Obi-wan which is why it caught my interest so quickly, "That's funny." Like smirked, crossing his arms as he leaned in the doorway.

"How is it funn—"

"Your lightsaber isn't finished yet." I cut off Obi-Wan.

Luke shook his head, "That's not why I'm here."

"Then why are you here?" I spoke with a clenched jaw. I was frustrated by the unwanted company, frustrated with this fucking lightsaber, and even more frustrated that Ahsoka came and took my padawan away.

I felt like a bomb ready to explode.

"I just saw your padawan," He pointed at Obi-Wan, "And yours," He pointed at me, "Leaving together in a ship about fifteen minutes ago. Yours to be exact Master Kenobi."

"What?" Obi-Wan and I shouted at the same time.

Luke's smile widened, "So it seems you both have Padawans to find."

She left unauthorized, in a ship with no clones or anyone else with them. Just less than twenty-fours hours after I got her back here safe. With the culprit of whoever did that to her still out there somewhere.

I am going to kill her.
