(Y/n)'s POV
I never thought I would be saying this, but thank you Anakin Skywalker for forcing me to do cardio. If I didn't have the lung strength that I have right now, that thing would have gotten a hold of in the very beginning, easily.
It rushed towards me and I spun around , running straight for one of the only pillars still standing. Now that I no longer hold any restrictions, my Master is about to see that I am not always the damsel in distress, and I don't always need to be saved.
With my lightsaber in hand, I ran up the pillar a couple of yards before pushing off with the soles of my feet and flipping backwards in the air. I could see the creature below me as I flipped over it and landed perfectly on its head. It shook violently to get me off of it, but it was to no avail, my lightsaber was plunged through the top of its skull seconds after landing.
It didn't die immediately, it thrashed around for a couple of seconds before falling to the floor with a loud thud and screech. I sighed with relief as I pulled my lightsaber from its head and turned it off, feeling the adrenaline in my body finally begin to settle now that I no longer felt threatened.
The crowd that was once screaming had dropped to a dead silence. I looked around and they all looked at me, until my attention was grabbed by a low shriek and I whipped my head in the direction of the sound.
There she was, Ahsoka, my best friend, falling from the Queens area and landing on the dirt floor — immediately going into unconsciousness. My eyes widened and my heart squeezed with worry. I was about to run after her, but the collar around my neck was activated.
I screamed in pain and dropped to my knees, moments later I heard the sound of the spiders again, and they were coming from inside the dark tunnel. I was able to look used and see them crawling in my direction, of course there's more. All I could do was watch them approach me with an intent to kill, I had no energy or even any control over my body to be able to defend myself. The collar was not stopping.
'Anakin...'
Like my thoughts alone summoned him, a shadow casted over my body as my Master dropped down in front of me. He landed between the spiders and I, and he had his lightsaber in hand, but didn't use it on them. He instead lifted his left hand so the force was used to raise the spiders from the ground—at the same time he swiped his lightsaber backwards and cut the collar off of me without damaging my skin in any way. The pain was gone, and I was immediately filled with gratitude that fluttered in my stomach.
He squeezed his hand and each spider popped in the air like water balloons. Then he turned around and dropped to his knees, his hands finding my face, "Are you okay?" He cupped my cheeks.
I nodded, removing the broken collar from around my neck and dropping it to the floor with a groan of relief, "Yeah I'm perfect. I totally could have taken them, I just needed a minute." I joked to lighten the dark mood.
He lightly laughed, "Come on let's get out of here before the soldiers get down here," He removed his hands from my face and helped me stand up. He wrapped my arm over his shoulder so he could hold me up and held me by the waist.
"Holy fu—," Now that the adrenaline was gone, I felt every cut and bruise, especially the large one on my back and the spider bite on my leg.
"You alright?" He asked with worry, his lips close to my ear.
I nodded, "Yeah, these wounds just hurt a lot more than I thought..." My heart sank into my stomach when I remembered something, "Wait Ahsoka—"
"Obi-Wan has her," He assured me, pulling me in the direction of a loud noise. It was only then that I noticed the ship lowering down in the arena, one filled with clones including Captain Rex. When the hell did he call them? "The Queen had pretended she needed water to get Ahsoka in front of her, then she kicked her down thinking it would distract us from her and her guards that were trying to gain the upper hand," That's probably when they turned my collar on as well, it was to distract him and Obi-Wan, "Clearly they failed and I'll tell you more later, but we need to go, now. Who knows what they'll do to the colonists when word of what happened here gets out."
"Where's the Queen?" I asked, looking at him from the corner of my eye, but he didn't answer. He hardly flinched actually, like my question wasn't even heard.
He led me to the ship and handed me over to Captain Rex who quickly took me to one of the medical clones. The first thing they tended to was the wound on my back, I flinched the moment I felt a cold touch to it, "Sorry Commander, it's just a wet rag to clean it so I can see the injury better."
I nodded, keeping my eyes on my Master who was walking away from me, towards Rex "Do what you have to do." I mumbled before immediately flinching again when I was hit with a sharp pain. I'm proud of myself for handling the situation like I did, but I need to work on not getting hurt as much.
"My ship is a couple of miles out from the city. Drop Obi-Wan and I off there and take the Padawans to the temple. Tell Yoda I said she is going in the bacta tank," Anakin said, pointing at me.
I scoffed, causing him to shoot his gaze in my direction, "I am not going anywhere," I said stubbornly, "I started this mission with you, and I am seeing it through." I argued, and his little mini me rolled up next to him and beeped protests at me, basically telling me to listen to my Master. I rolled my eyes, "No one asked for your input tinfoil."
Artoo aggressively shook as he beeped angrily, clearly offended by my choice of nickname, "Shes just trying to annoy you Artoo and you're letting her," He patted him before directing his attention back to me, "Listen, I am very proud of you for how you handled things today, and I am not not proud because I am asking you to leave." He approached and bent down in front of me, "You and Ahsoka played your parts and we got exactly what we needed, so now you both are going home because your well-being is more important to me than your presence on the rest of the mission." I opened my mouth to speak, thinking he was done. But he placed his finger up to stop me before continuing, "You will have plenty more assignments with me to see all the way through. You're not a failure for leaving this one."
When I had previously opened my mouth it was to argue, but I see that there's no point, his decision was made and as his Padawan I must obey. Unless I wish to face consequences for being disobedient, but I think the pain I'm in is more than enough for me for one day.
"Fine, I'll go home," I gave in with a sigh, "But only because Ahsoka is coming with me or else I'd be putting up much more of a fight."
He chuckled as he placed his hand on my arm and rubbed it gently, "I know, we'll be back soon and I'll come check on you first thing." He squeezed it before letting go and standing up. He turned and instantly paused in place when he locked eyes with Master Kenobi who was only a couple feet away, kneeling next to a still unconscious Ahsoka.
Master Kenobi had this certain look in his eyes, like he knew every secret the galaxy has to offer, but he never said a word. After a few seconds, he looked down, removing himself from the awkward stare down, "Sorry Jimmy, you were saying?"
"Well it seems she has slight head trauma from the fall, but nothing too serious. She just needs rest, but she'll wake up soon, possibly within a few hours."
Good to know she'll be okay.
"Master," I spoke, prompting him to turn his head to face me, "You never answered my question about the Queen, what happened to her?"
"I left her with her guards," He spun back around, not allowing any further questions, and power-walked away.
Luke's POV
I saw it... I saw it all. Every murder, every death, the fear in the eyes of many I now know. I saw why he made the change, I saw every moment of comfort my Mom gave him when she noticed him drifting, and I saw the pain in her eyes each time he walked away from her. And lastly, I saw why he said what he said about my uncle when it came to my Mother's death. I know why he blames him now, I myself started to feel a slight resentment.
But I still don't think what this man in front of me did was justifiable, and I definitely don't forgive him for killing everyone I have ever loved or the defenseless children I watched him strike down. He got lost—something he told my Mom during one of his attempts to confide in her—and that's okay. I feel like we all get lost sometimes. But he had so many chances to go back on his actions and stop before it escalated, yet he walked over each one without a second thought because it was no longer desperation that motivated him in the end, it was the idea of unlimited power.
(Yes you will eventually get a full read through of what happened from Anakin's and possibly Obi-Wans POV's, I just don't want certain things to be known just yet so enjoy the mystery for now.)
I backed away from my Father until my back hit the wall, tears falling down my cheeks as I choked back sobs, "Why didn't you tell or show me any of this that day in the tomb?" I asked, holding my chest where my heart is. I had no idea what to say or what to think, or even how to react. I saw so much in such a small amount of time and I still felt like my head was spinning as it all played in my mind on repeat.
He slowly dropped his gaze to the floor as he dropped his hands down to his side, "My words wouldn't have meant anything to you and I didn't show you because I hoped to protect you from ever seeing what I have seen." Meaning he had hoped to protect me from actually seeing the light leave the very eyes I have had the privilege of looking into in person — and it killed me. That's why I was holding my heart so close to me right now, it was breaking.
"Now you know the truth," He came closer to me and I backed myself into the wall again. He knitted his brows and slowly tilted his head, "Yet you still want nothing to do with me." He started with a frustrated sigh.
Tears brimmed in my eyes, "Because you are not my Father, Anakin Skywalker."
He rolled his eyes, as if he truly didn't give a shit, "No, I am better than him."
"My mother would not agree," I wiped the tears from under my eyes as I made my way to the door, "I need to leave." I need to get back, I need a better plan with a more aggressive approach, I have to stop any of that from happening.
"Leave?" I heard him say moments before I felt myself halt in place. Without any real effort, he lifted me from the floor and spun me around to face him, "There is no leaving Luke. I now have both of my children," He smiled, "You will join me, it's only a matter of time, and then we can all be a family—" He paused and knitted his brows, "And how exactly would you be stopping any of that from happening?" He asked after the thoughts he had clearly been invading finally registered in his mind.
I clenched my jaw, realizing that in my weakened state, I had dropped my walls too low. I didn't say anything, really because I didn't know what to say. I was backed in a corner, but if he learns the truth, it'll ruin everything, "Just let me go Father," I begged, "Please."
Without hesitation, he shook his head and lightly squeezed his fist, pulling me towards him with my feet dragging along the floor, "You're not going anywhere my son. Now come here, let me see where you have been."
