Chapter Fifty-Two

Hoskinta

(Y/n)'s POV
The next morning, I packed my tent and sleeping bag, while Anakin packed his next to me in silence. He didn't greet me with a good morning today as usual, he's pretending I don't exist. He's clearly still pissed at me for not listening to him yesterday, and I don't ever want him to know that I should have listened to him. I did something pretty stupid, and if he finds out I'm dead.

"Would you like help, Commander?" Fox came over to ask once I was nearly finished. All I needed to do now was put them in one of our cargo vehicles, which was basically a small ship that hovered a foot above the ground.

I looked up, "Sure if you want to grab the tent for me." I quietly said. The bad thing I did was kissing Fox... Okay let me rephrase, I didn't kiss him, he kissed me, and it was for only for like two seconds. I ran into him after I was done bothering Rex and we got to talking and that's when it happened. I wouldn't say I kissed him back since I ended it so quickly, but I still felt like I did something wrong.

He nodded and picked up the tent, tossing it into the small ship. Anakin watched, he'd been side-eying us the moment Fox approached. I kept my shields up, afraid that he would try to see what I was thinking about at any point. I didn't want him learning about it. I plan to talk to Fox later, clear the air, and ask him if it can never be mentioned again, to anyone.

After I placed my sleeping bag inside, I closed it and tapped in the exterior so the droid in charge of operating it would know I was done.

"Hey," Fox awkwardly scratched the back of his head, "Look about—"

"Trooper Fox, you're needed at your post, go." Anakin interrupted him, his voice stern.

"I'll tell you later," The trooper sighed and mumbled under his breath, something along the lines of calling Anakin an asshole, before he walked off.

I looked at Anakin who was watching him with an irritated glare, until he shifted his gaze to me. Our eyes locked and his body visibly tensed, like he was uncomfortable. He quickly looked away and went back to placing his items into the cargo ship, "Stop distracting the clones."

"Says the one who distracts the nurses," I scoffed, remembering his stupid comment, "How was it with them last night anyway?"

"Wonderful, they're very good with their hands," He smirked and I felt my body crippling with the ache of jealousy, "It was a great massage." He added seconds later with a widening smirk, like he knew where my mind would go with only that first remark and purposely did it that way to annoy me.

I fake smiled and spun around so I was no longer facing him. But of course, I was now facing the twi'lek nurses. They haven't put their tent away, instead they were talking and laughing and looking in our direction like a group of young school girls. I made eye contact with one, her skin was violet and her eyes blue. She only looked at me for a moment, then her attention was on my Master and she—just as the others—were eyeing him like he was a meal. Granted they were eyeing all the men around that way like typical hormonal women, but the way they looked at him was as if they worshiped him.

He is beautiful.

The violet woman then waved with a smile, "General Skywalker," She said loud enough for us to hear, they were about twenty feet away, "Do you mind helping us?" She asked sweetly, batting her lashes as if that's supposed to be appealing.

"Sure," He passed me, subtly hitting my shoulder, and walked to the group of women that stood around as he packed away their tent. I balled my fists and took a deep breath, before deciding to remove myself from this area before we no longer have any nurses at our disposal. Watching them flirt and place their hands on his shoulders and arms was nauseating and unprofessional.

Says the girl who kissed one of her troops last night.

I figured this would be a good time to go with Fox and have that awkward conversation before we ventured off. Unfortunately I had to pass by Anakin and the tent of whor—nurses to get to him, "How is your lower back doing General?" The violet Twi'lek asked, lightly placing her hand on his back as he set their folded tent with the other cargo, "Did last night help at all?"

I almost paused in my steps when I heard that, I thought he was joking about the massage to get a reaction out of me.

I can't explain it, but the thought of him laying there with her rubbing her hands all over him made me want to do some very non-Jedi-like things. Ones involving my lightsaber. And her. It was an ugly feeling, but an involuntary one.

I walked faster so I wouldn't hear his response and entered the forest-like area. It was beautiful, the plants were large and colorful, and the sun reflecting off of them made the vibrant colors stand out. Which is good, it lets us know what plants to avoid touching. Vibrant colors in the wilderness is always a bad sign, it belongs to predators. In this case, it belongs to the poisonous plants.

"I wouldn't," I startled a clone who dropped the handful of berries he had picked, "Those aren't edible, but those are," I pointed to a bush of blueberries. That clone just nearly lost his life, what he had were Goni berries, very poisonous. It would have burned a hole right through his stomach.

Am I the only one who reads books on plants around here? It's very useful knowledge to have.

"Thank you Commander." He smiled and went for the non-lethal snack.

I nodded, "Have you seen Fox anywhere?"

He pointed to his left, "Yes Commander, I saw him patrolling over there just a few moments ago."

"Thank you." I went in the direction he told me and moved a large leaf out of my way. It wasn't hard to spot him and his white armor surrounded by a vast variety of colors. He was bent down, staring at the dirt  and running his fingers along it, "Is everything alright?" I asked, catching him off guard.

He jumped up with his weapon in his hands and aimed it at me, but only for a split second before he realized who I was, "My apologies Commander, you startled me," He took a deep breath, lowering his weapon.

"A soldier should always be aware of their surroundings," Listen to me, I sound like my Master. I even had my hands resting on my lower back, just as he does.

Thinking about him again?

I shook my head and pushed away my overbearing thoughts that I have away, "You are right Commander, again I apologize." He looked nervous, he knew what I was here for and I'm sure it's for the same reason why he came to me not that long ago.

I waved off his apology as I approached, "I'm glad I found you, I've been meaning to talk to you about last night."

He nodded with a heavy sigh, "I am so sorry that happened, the idea of kissing my Commander sounded hot and so I got caught up in the moment. It was unprofessional of me," He explained his actions quickly. He didn't only look nervous, he looked scared, "It was wrong and I know that, but please, I'm begging you not to tell General Skywalker."

There would be one less trooper in the 501st.

"I was about to ask you not to tell him," I revealed with a soft laugh. He looked beyond relieved that I had the same thought as him, "And your apology is accepted, let's forget the whole thing. It never happened."

He nodded in agreement, "Yes Commander, thank you. Now if it's alright with you, I need to grab a few men and take them back to the base so we can head out."

"Don't let me keep you." I dismissed him and he was gone quickly.

I sighed to myself, relieved to have that dealt with so calmly and easily. Now all I need to do is focus on this mission—"What exactly is it that you two don't want me to know about Padawan?"

Of fucking course.

I slowly turned around and faced my Master. He stood with his arms crossed, his eyes casted over by a shadow from a plant while the rest of him was highlighted by the sun. My hands started to sweat, "Don't you have anything better to do than to always follow me? It's like every-time I turn around, there you are, eavesdropping on every conversation I have."

He didn't react, he remained holding a stone expression and I knew why... he knew. He likely followed me not long after I came looking for Fox. He was only asking to see if I would lie. He heard everything, "Answer what I asked." He walked to me, stopping less than a foot away, his angered eyes burning my skin.

I didn't want to answer, I didn't want to admit it out loud to him, "How about you get off my ass and go back with your nurses, I'm sure they're itching to give you another massage. If that's all they gave you." I attempted to remove myself from the situation by walking away.

He grabbed my arm and stopped me before I barely got a few steps away . He pulled me back to where I originally stood, pushing me until my back hit a large plant with a tree-like exterior, "Jealous?" He placed his hand next to my head and leaned forward. The tips of our noses nearly brushed and I swear it looked like his eyes had flickered to my lips, but it was so quick it had me wondering if it happened at all or if I was just going insane.

"I could ask you the same thing," I never broke our eye contact and the tension between us thickened.

The anger in his eyes remained and I was nervous for whatever thoughts were going through his head, "Yes or no, did you kiss one of my troops?"

"No," Technically I'm not lying. He kissed me, not vice versa.

His hand next to my head balled into a fist and his jaw clenched. I thought he was going to fight me right then and there, but a few seconds later and after some deep breaths, he smiled, "You know," He leaned closer. My breath hitched in my throat when I felt his lips graze me cheek as he made his way to my ear, his body also beginning to lean into me.

You love this.

"Do you really want to know what it was that I whispered to the Queen?" He said softly. I nodded, but said nothing as I waited for him to continue.

This is his punishment, telling me exactly what he told another woman to make her lust for him. Like I'm being reminded just how easily he can do anything he wants with whoever he wants.

"I said," He continued, taking a small pause to lick his lips and swallow, "That at the end of the night, I would get between her soft thighs and show her why exactly I'm worthy of being called a King." His lips touched my ear, until he backed away to look me in the eyes. I nervously swallowed and hid the thoughts cramming my mind.

Thoughts with him between your thigh—

"I'm sorry you were never able to fulfill your promise," I was trying to have an attitude, but it was obvious his words had a lasting effect on me. I was flustered. I was questioning my morals.

"Don't move," He groaned, glancing at my neck, "There's a wasp, hold on."

It looked like he was about to shoo it away, but I grabbed his hand to stop him, "Wait, what color is on the tip of its butt?"

He knitted his brows and checked, "Blue."

I took a deep breath and tried my best not to move so I wouldn't startle it, "Don't try touching it. It's a Hoskinta Wasp."

He looked confused, "I don't know what a Hotino wasp is."

"Hoskinta," I corrected him with a heavy eye roll. It seems I am the only person who does research around here, "It's one of the most poisonous insects on Felucia," And with my luck, it's on my damn neck, "A normal sting can kill in minutes, a sting to the neck would be seconds."

Now he was starting to look scared, poor man. I can't catch a break, and neither can he it seems, "What do I need to do?"

"Nothing. If I remain calm, it should fly off on its own," Or at least that's what I read. They react when scared or angry, so if I give them no reason for either, I'll be safe, "Quick, talk to me, distract me."

"How was kissing Fox?" He immediately blurted out.

I narrowed my eyes, "Not something that's going to start an argument. I said I need to be calm, not stressed."

He rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. I may die at any second and he's acting like this? "Tell me about one thing that you have always wanted." He shrugged, clearly coming up with that crappy question on a whim.

"Uh I don't know," I stood like a statue, only my lips moving, "A fish tank?"

He raised his eyebrows, "A fish tank?"

"I feel like it would be a really fun thing to have. Plus it can also be a good place to hide things."

"Like?" He asked with a head tilt.

I smiled, remembering a fun thought I had when I was younger, "The key to my hidden tomb."

He snorted, his eyes drifting to my neck as he stepped closer, "You're not important enough to get a tomb." I could see he was getting more and more nervous the longer the wasp didn't budge. But I didn't want to risk any other option.

"Leave it to you, to suck the fun out of every thought—" I squealed in surprise when he shot his right hand forward to my neck, grabbing the wasp from my neck with only his index and thumb.

He held it up with a smile as I touched my neck to make sure I had no wounds, "How many times have I saved your life now?" He crushed the bug with his mechanical hand and dropped it to the floor, "A hundred?"

I shoved him, hard, but he barely stumbled a few inches to the side, "You're an ass, that could have killed me!" I yelled. He did save me, but his actions were reckless, it could have easily gone in another direction. And I get that he's a risk taker, that's who he is, but my life does not belong on the list of things he's willing to risk.

"You were practically waiting for it to!" He yelled back.

"I was following the correct protocol when dealing with—" I stopped and glared at him when he began mocking me with his hand, "Just say my life has no meaning to you then."

He paused and dropped his hand down, "Excuse me?"

"You heard me," I stepped up to him.

He pushed my back against the plant again, "Don't ever step up to me."

"Or what?" I did it again, my chest touching his. I gazed up into his eyes, stubbornly testing him, "Exactly, you won't do—" My eyes followed a yellow and blue insect flying in the air between us.

The world around me went into slow motion when it landed on Anakin's arm, which he had started to move, startling the bug. That's when it happened, it reacted to his movements like a threat and stung him through his clothing.

It all happened so fast that I had no time to react, and soon my Master was falling to the floor, his eyes fluttering closed.

I rushed down and caught his head before it hit the ground and started to scream for help. It was a Hoskinta wasp, this area must be flooded with them, so he barely had a few minutes before the poison was going to fully spread. Even then that wasn't going to be enough time to save him, we needed an antidote, one we didn't have. Luckily I had a quick plan.

Rex burst through the clearing and approached with clones following close behind, "Call General Kenobi," I said before he could say anything, "Tell him Anakin was stung by a Hoskinta wasp and to get here as soon as he can with an antidote." I placed my hand where the wasp had stung him. I'm happy to say that there is one important teaching I remember from Master Ti, "Let him know I'll buy him as much time as I can." I closed my teary eyes, using the force to stop the poison in his system from spreading.

"Yes Commander, we're on it."

"Is the General okay?"

"What happened?"

"Is the enemy near?"

I gave them all no responses. My attention was solely on keeping my Master alive. Soon the trance I was in was so deep that the voices around me were gone, I was in my world now, waiting and hoping that Kenobi makes it in time.

Hope you liked it ❤️
