Call It What You Want

ONE WEEK LATER
(Y/n)'s POV
I was as good as new for the first time in a long time. I'm just hoping to stay that way because with my luck I'll have a broken ankle by tomorrow.
"Be careful with your shoulder, limit activity for a few more days." The nurse instructed me before giving me the green light that I was able to leave. I nearly ran, earning me a shout if disapproval from her, but I've been stuck inside of that room for a week, I was sick of it. I acted like the hallway air was fresh and smiled as I took it in.
"I'm more than positive she prohibited activity which I'm sure includes running."I faced the voice with a smile, Anakin was leaning on the wall next to the door I just came out of. He had been waiting for me.
"I know, but for once I feel good." As much as I hated being locked up in there, it was necessary, my body and even my mind needed all of it.
He was smiling back and gestured with his head for me to follow him down the hall, "Come with me, you must be starving."
I quickened my pace to match his strides and walked alongside him, "I am," My stomach was empty, I was tired of the food they brought and eventually refused to eat it. I wanted something greasy and unhealthy. If I have another Jell-O cup or salad I'm going to lose my damn mind, "But I want to change out of these clothes first."
He looked over my medical wing attire. Thankfully it wasn't one of those embarrassing gowns that shows your underwear. It resembled scrubs, though it was completely beige while our medics here wore brown and black, "I don't see a problem with what you're wearing."
"I hope you're just trying to be funny," I crossed my arms and made a turn that was leading us to our rooms.
He nodded, chucking as he did, "Obviously, besides I don't plan taking you out to eat at the cafeteria, you need something satisfying."
I turned my head quickly to look at him, my ears perked, "Wait a second, are you taking me on a date?"
He visibly grew nervous, biting his lip gently and fidgeting with the hem of his robe, "I'm just taking you to get some real food, call it what you want."
(100% a Taylor swift reference. You'll see a lot of them and I'm not sorry. It's my favorite rep song and if you haven't heard it, trust me it's a gem.)
"It's a date," I whispered as Jedi passed us by.
Anakin rolled his eyes and held a hint of a smile. He didn't say anything else to me on our walk until we were at our rooms and he let me know he was going to be waiting outside for me.
I threw on my Jedi clothing, black to match him and opted to not wear the robe. Lately the air in Coruscant has been warm and I didn't want to sweat out my stitches.
I stopped to stare at the scars on my bed in my bathroom mirror, my eyes lingering on the fresh one that was still tender to the touch. I winced when I found that out, it was like a bruise, you see it and want to give it a good poke.
I sighed and covered myself. All the scars made me feel so ugly, what would Anakin say looking at me and seeing my ugly scars.
I bent down over the sink and splashed my face with water to feel refreshed. I grabbed the towel without opening my eyes and wiped my face clean, clearing all of the oils that built up over the morning. When I looked back into the mirror my heart leapt out of my chest at the sight of Anakin standing in the doorway of the bathroom, watching me.
"Jesus Anakin," I exclaimed, spinning to face him as I held my hand to my chest.
I expected a smile or some expression of amusement, but his face remained serious. He didn't say anything as he came towards me and spun me back around to look at myself in the mirror, "What were those thoughts I was hearing?" He whispered into my ear as he moved the clothing on my shoulders down just enough to see my scars, but high enough that I wasn't exposed. I had a total of 4 maybe 5 if you count my back.
"My body is so broken down, it's embarrassing and—"
"Shut up." He interrupted me, his voice soft despite his rude choice of words. He kissed the back of my shoulder, then kissed more parts of me with every compliment he gave, "You're tough," He kissed the side of my neck, "You're beautiful ," He kissed the back of neck, trailing his lips to the other side of me, "You're a survivor," His breathe fanned the skin on my other shoulder. He kissed me softly, "You're a soldier." He kissed just under my ear, "And you are so undeniably perfect. I could never think otherwise."
"Anakin," I breathed. I felt his hands on my hips, tightly holding me and pushing me forward against the sink. I felt it, him, digging into my back.
"Say it," He spoke low, nuzzling his face into the skin on my neck, "Say you're beautiful."
"I'm—" My mind was clouded by the euphoria of his touch and moves, "I'm beautiful." My voice quiet, I could hardly get the words out.
"Always remember that," He kissed my neck once more, "I'll be outside whenever you're ready." He now spoke in the most normal tone compared to his previous soft endearing one.
And he left. Just like that.
Anakin's POV
I leaned against the wall next to her bedroom, one foot up with my arms crossed, watching all of the Jedi passed by. I traced my lips with my fingers, thinking about how they were just all over her skin and wishing I didn't have to stop. But if I didn't, I would've had her on top of that sink.
Not saying that's be a bad thing, but we'll get there when the time is right. For now, I wanted to take her on a date. She deserves to be spoiled after all she's been through.
But I was nervous, what the hell am I supposed to do on a date?
As I thought about where I was going to take her, my eyes caught a Jedi walking past, one I have been dying to talk to but haven't seen since the ordeal we went through, "Luke," I called his name and motioned for him to come to me, "I need a word with you."
"Will it be quick?" He asked once he was in front of me, "I'm on my way to see Master Yoda."
"Yeah I just have a quick question for you," I dropped my foot down and stood straight. His eyes had to drift upwards since I was much taller than him, "Who's Leia?"
He blinked, taken aback by my question, "How do you know that name?" I don't think I've ever seen him look so stunned and nervous.
"Well," I looked around to make sure we didn't have any eavesdroppers, "I haven't told anyone this yet, but she's the one who eradicated the hunters, even offered me one like an appetizer. She also told me to tell you hi."
He swallowed heavily, "And you're just barely telling me this?"
I narrowed my eyes, "I've been busy and you haven't exactly been around either."
He bit his lip nervously, "Did she say anything else? Was she alone?"
"No and yes. Who is she Luke? A lover from your past life outside of the temple?" I smirked, teasing him. It was a serious question though, I couldn't come up with any other theory,
"No," He said in disgust, "I—I gotta go."
"Wait you didn't answer my question, who is—" He was gone and around the corner before I could finish my sentence. If I wasn't waiting for (y/n) I would've followed him, so he's off the hook for now. Speaking of her, she came out of her room finally and looked perfect as always, "Are you ready?" I almost grabbed her hand until I remembered where we were.
She nodded, fixing her tunic and her hair. If only she understood she didn't need to try so hard to look pretty around me. I've seen her in the morning with shaggy hair and dried drool on her cheek and was still starry eyed, "Yeah, sorry I took long I had to uh—pull myself together."
I smirked, keeping my hands behind my back as I took slow strides towards, "Sorry about that, I just wanted to make sure you had a little more confidence in yourself."
She exhaled slowly, "So, where are we going?"
✦
"A bar?" I raised a brow as I looked around at the building we entered, "But I'm hungry, not thirsty."
He led me to a table in the back, the area was less crowded there, "The food is delicious, trust me." He gestured for me to sit in the booth and I slid inside while he scooted in next to me. The menu's were sitting in the middle of the table and I grabbed one to scan it through, "Get whatever you want."
I set the menu down once I saw they had exactly what I was craving, "Mozzarella sticks, french fries, and a burger with two patties, not one. Extra cheese, no pickles." She smiled, "Oh and a water."
I chuckled as I touched her knee with mine under the table, "Whatever you want," I repeated. Not long after the waiter arrived and took down our order. She got exactly what she asked for and I got a drink. I ate a few hours ago and wasn't hungry just yet, my concern was her.
"You're not going to get anything to eat?" She asked once the waiter had left.
"I'm okay for now," I assured her. I scooted a little closer to her so our shoulders were almost touching but not quite. I was known in this bar and the last thing I wanted were rumors swirling around about two Jedi cozying up in a booth in the back. So although I wanted to get even closer, I didn't.
She scowled as she twirled her water on the table, causing the ring of condensation it left to widen, "I'll feel weird eating if you're not."
"I'll eat later." I folded my arms and leaned them on the table, "So, now that I finally get to talk to you, tell me the story about how you and Ahsoka got taken, up until you woke up in the hospital. I want to hear everything, every little detail you can think of."
She grimaced at the memory and leaned her back into the booth, her leg pushed harder as mine. Possibly as a way to comfort herself. She told me her whole story from top to bottom. I heard Ahsoka's side, but I wanted to hear hers too.
"Did you ever see a woman?"
She shook her head, furrowing her brows in confusion, "No, it was all men. Why, did you see a woman?"
I breathed out of my nose and contemplated on telling her, ultimately I decided to, "There was a Sith or at least I think she was a Sith. She killed them all, every single one of them without any mercy." Why did I feel like I was praising this girl? As a Jedi I should be disturbed, but she inevitably did what I was dying to do, "Called herself Leia."
"Did you tell the council about this?"
"No," I admitted, "I haven't told anyone."
"Why?"
I shrugged, wondering the same thing, "I don't know I—" I sighed, "Maybe it's because I just don't trust them with anything anymore. They knew Padawans were going missing and did nothing to stop it and said nothing to avoid it."
Her eyes widened as she leaned closer to me, "They knew?" She asked in disbelief, "And they didn't say anything."
"Nothing," I scoffed. I tapped my fingers on the table and paused when the food was brought over and laid in-front of her. We thanked him and I took a long drink of my beverage, "We can talk about this another time. This is a date, no more work talk."
I didn't have to tell her twice. She was already digging into her food. I smiled as I watched her eat like she has been starving for days. No matter what condition this woman is, she is nothing short of perfection.
"(Y/n)," I said and she looked up mid-bite, "You got a little something on your chin."
