It had been a few days since the incident and (Y/n)'s hand had almost completely healed. She could now easily cover it in makeup to hide the slight discoloration, but other than that everything was fine. Well... at least in that focus.
Trender and (Y/n) haven't spoken much about what would be happening. It seemed like she was supposed to know what was happeningโ or rather: how to play wife. She hadn't the slightest clue what to do.
She started feeding him lunch and dinner, but she thought that was a servant thing, not a wife thing. And anytime she thought of... other things, she'd just get all flustered and avoid him.
The only time the two ever spent together now was when Trender was teaching her how to sew and how to manage the desk. The two had been up all night playing around in the fabric room and now (Y/n) was nervous to even approach him. Especially after what he said to her...
"You, my dear, could make three leafs look fashionable~." He said in a teasing voice as you had draped a fabric made for tablecloth around your body as a joke. And though one might interpret that in a... different manner, (Y/n) had found it endearing.
She knew he harbored no sexual thoughts about her and the statement itself just insinuated her beauty: something not many did. Of course, she knew she was beautiful, many just found her ugly because she didn't wear beauty, nor did she "express" beauty.
So (Y/n) couldn't help but blush and smile a little, which only brought more compliments her way. Now, she could barely look at that man without getting all flustered and a tight chest.
The woman sat in their shared bedroom, putting her hair up as she hummed to herself. There had been an appointment on the calendar today so she was trying to look decent considering she was now Trender's wife. Never before had she put so much care into her appearance, but there was a side of her that prided herself in helping herself feel more content with her appearance.
"(Y/n), are you dressed?" Trender's calm voice called from behind their bedroom door. Despite the fact that (Y/n) had said it would be fine for him to walk in on her naked, Trender continued to insist he give her her privacy. Obviously, she appreciated it, but a part of her felt it was unnecessary. Plenty of people have seen her nude before.
"Y-yes, husband." Still, (Y/n) hadn't stopped calling him husband. And even though it was fine, it kind of annoyed Trender. He didn't want her to feel obligated to continue to call him husband even if they didn't feel that emotional or physical connection. They had made their boundaries, he just couldn't grasp why she still called him husband. Perhaps she enjoyed it?
"Alright, I'm coming in." Trender stated before entering their room; and there she was, the pretty little thing that was now his wife standing in front of her vanity with a small smile and adverted gaze. Even with her lightening up, she still couldn't look directly at him. "My brother and the queen will be here soon, I just wanted to help you get ready, but I see you've gotten ready just fine."
"Th-the king and queen are coming...?" She questions, sounding scared.
"Yes. Don't fret, they're perfectly kind. Though the queen might have various inappropriate questions." Trender explained, placing a gentle hand on the woman's shoulder. "They know about our arrangement, they just don't know the details so you don't have to pretend like you're head over heels for me and want to be here. They'll also be here for most of the day."
"When will they be here?" She asked, sounding even more frightened.
"There's no need to panic, (Y/n) I'll be with you the whole time." He squeezed her shoulder gently.
"Yes but I haven't been given anytime to prepare anything!" She replied, voice frightened. "H-he's going to be mad!"
Her eyes began to water as the panic continued to rise through her throat. Trender then realized that this had nothing to do with him, yet everything to do with that man. The man who gave her to him in the first place.
Trender caught her wrists before her hands could leave to pick and prod at some part of her body, something he learned of three nights ago. He tried to calm her down but her cries continued. As her sobs finally softened, Trender heard something he really wasn't happy to hear.
"H-he's going to hurt me...!" She sobbed into his chest, holding onto him like her life depended on it.
"No he's not. He will never hurt you again. Shhh..." Trender explained to the paranoid woman. She hyperventilated and slightly pushed away from him in an attempt to calm down. "I-I'm sorry... I'm sorry."
"Don't be sorry, it's ok. Get cleaned up and meet me downstairs, alright?" He cupped her chin, tilting it up so she looked him in the eyes. Slowly, she nodded. Even after crying she still looked beautiful.
Trender watched as she went into the bathroom and hovered around for a moment before walking away. He was angry, so very angry. He was ready to kill a man, but he also didn't want any suspicion on him.
He remembered the good old days of his youth, when they didn't have to worry about their titles or self control. If they'd wanted someone dead back then, they could kill them without consequence. Now though? One wrong move and the whole town would be upset.
(Y/n) still hadn't come down when his brother and his wife arrived. Not that it mattered, but he knew both of them were curious to see the woman their brother/brother-in-law had married.
"Where's the lucky lady?!" Slender's wife exclaimed, clamping her hands together. Slender placed a hand on her shoulder to remind her to be respectful, even if he too was quite antsy.
"She's upstairs in the bedroโ" Before Trender could even finish his sentence the queen disappeared. "She's a little shaken up!" He called, despite knowing it was too late.
"Shaken up?" Slender inquired, still shaking his head at his wife's immature departure.
"My original theory had been correct." Trender answered, turning back to his brother. "Well, not entirely but she was never a noble."
"What class is she then?"
"She was a slave."
**********************************************
"Oh my! Aren't you lovely?" The queen exclaimed, admiring the beautiful woman who was now her sister-in-law. The wife of her brother-in-law appeared taken aback when the queen spoke to her.
"Y-your majesty...!" The woman squeaked, before bending her knees into a curtsy. The queen herself then chuckled and smiled.
"Oh please, there's no need for formalities. Please call me Rowan." The queen introduced herself to the woman by her name, a name not many heard. The wife of Trender's cheeks flushed and she nodded.
"I am (Y/n)... it's my pleasure to meet your acquaintance, Queen Rowan." The nervous woman responded, bowing her head. "H-how can I be of s-ser-service to you?"
"Oh my," the queen giggled. "There's no need for that kind of language, my dear. Buuuuuuuut, I would like to know how things have been since you've married my brother in law~."
"Well... I'm not sure if I make a good wife. B-but we seem to get along..."
"Good wife? Whatever do you mean?" She beckoned, confused by the woman's statement.
"Well... he hasn't once yelled at me or hurt me. Nor have we had any acts of intimacy." (Y/n) answered, rubbing her arm. Queen Rowan squints her eyes.
"And who told you this?"
"My former master."
"Well he's wrong. If my husband did anything like that to me I'd have the throne to myself." She scoffed before taking her hands. "Come now, lovely. We will assure Trender treats you nicely."
Rowan enters the living quarters where she finds Trender and her husband talking. She stopped (Y/n) from bowing and sat beside her on the couch.
"Oh look, my dear. She's lovely. I better not hear anything bad when she comes to our dinners and parties next time, correct?" Rowan asks Trender.
"Of course not, Rowan. She is my wife, I will never treat her poorly." Trender responded, sounding slightly annoyed at the accusation.
"Wonderful, don't you agree?" Rowan asks, to which (Y/n) nodded, confused and uncomfortable. "Perfect. Well then. When are you two having sex?"
"Darling that's not how their relationship works."
"Yes we're not having sex." Trender sighed, knowing that was coming.
"Th-then what were the fl-flowers for?" (Y/n) asked, sounding confused. The three people looked at her confused. "Th-the Dragosapps."
Rowan abruptly bursted out laughing causing (Y/n) to flinch as the two men examined the women confused.
"I got the flowers because they made you smile." Trender answered still looking and sounding confused. (Y/n) began to blush, embarrassed.
"D-Dragosapps are a part of a mating ritual." Rowan explains, catching her breath. "It helps bind relationships. It's usually used as a lubricant."
"Why didn't you tell me?" Trender asked (Y/n).
"I-I was going to b-but then you just bought them a-and I didn't want to cause any embarrassment a-and you j-just seemed so confident I-I thought you knew what you were doing." She stammered, flustered and embarrassed.
"Oh~? So you were ok with it?" Rowan asks, enjoying the drama.
"D-don't I have to?!" (Y/n) asks, she was clearly panicked and Rowan was starting to become too excited to notice.
"No you don't. Listen, let's take a break alright." Trender said, standing up and motioning (Y/n) off the couch. She was trembling and nodded.
"Rowan, darling, let's talk for a minute." Slender beckoned his wife who was still trying to pry before getting pulled away.
(Y/n) looked nervous, panicked even, but mostly flustered. Trender was also quite flustered, to say the least. He didn't expect this from the innocent woman he called his wife. Before either could speak, Slender entered the room once more.
"Sorry to cut this short, brother. But me and Rowan must be going. We will see you next week for dinner."
The newly weds were left alone. Before (Y/n) could say anything Trender walked away, leaving (Y/n) alone to her thoughts.
