Percy's POV

I walked up to the vacation house we were staying in and noticed a couple of Australian police cars and a light in the kitchen window. I groaned internally and walked up the steps. I could already hear my Mom crying and Paul talking to some police officers. I pushed open the door and ran to the kitchen. "Mom! It's ok! I'm home now!" I exclaimed dropping to my knees in front of her.

"Oh, Percy!" Mom sobbed on my shoulder and I hugged her. After she had calmed down, I turned to the police who asked me a questions.

"Where were you?" An officer demanded.

"Sorry about that. I took a jetski that island over there." I explained unfazed.

"You mean Mako?" Another officer interrupted.

"Yes," I sighed annoyed. "I was hiking and I slipped on a rock and banged my head. I passed out for a couple hours. Then when I woke up, it was dark. I found my jetski then rode home. I'm sorry that I bothered you."

"That's ok kid. Be more careful next time. Bye." I waved at the officers as they left. I wondered why Australians had such a strange accent. I mean, we didn't have an accent... STUPID ADHD.

My mom and Paul looked at me.
"What?" I asked defensively.

"Percy.... What really happened?" Mom asked me.

"That's it. I just fell and hit my head. I didn't have the jetski though." My mom and Paul looked at me disbelievingly.

"Wow."Paul exclaimed. "Pretty boring day for you huh?"

"Yup." I agreed. "Alright it's 12. I might as well go to sleep now." I kissed my Mom goodnight and waved to Paul. I crossed the kitchen to the door leading to my room. I collapsed into bed and almost immediately closed my eyes.

When I woke up it was 10:51 and Paul was banging on my door. "Percy!! Wake up!! My niece and her friends will here in 19 minutes!" I shot up and gasped. I ran to open the door and collided with Paul.
"Owww.." I mumbled rubbing my head. Paul stood and helped me up.

"Hurry Percy! Get ready! They'll be here soon!" I ran back to my room and shut the door. I opened the suitcase and rummaged around in it. I finally pulled out a pair of shorts and my favorite sea green shirt. Without even bothering to take a shower, I dressed and brushed my teeth. I pulled on a hoodie and ran to the kitchen and sat down just as the doorbell rang. My mom opened the door and exclaimed,

"Hi, girls! I'm so glad you could make it. I'm Sally Jackson, Paul's wife. Come in, come in." She ushered them inside. Four girls, 3 with blonde hair and the 4th with dark brown introduced themselves. Rikki, Emma, Bella, and Cleo. Paul strode into the room and boomed,

"Cleo! It's nice to finally see you again. Oh, and Emma too! How long has it been? Last I saw you, you were eleven!" Paul hugged Emma and Cleo.

Cleo gestured towards the other two blondes. "Our friends, Rikki and Bella." They hadn't noticed me sitting there yet.

"Hold on, let me call my son. Percy! They're here!" Mom called.

"I'm here." I smiled at the four girls and walked over. They turned toward me and my smile faltered. They were the girls I saw before passing out.

Cleo's POV

We turned toward the boy walking towards us. He smiled warmly before faltering. I studied the boy. He was the one we had followed yesterday. He walked forward and stuck out his hand for me to shake. "I'm Percy. Percy Jackson." The way he said those words, it almost made me want to bow down but I fought against it.

"I'm Cleo," I said stepping forwards. "These are my friends Emma, Rikki, and Bella."

"Pleasure to meet you." He studied as closely and I was sure he recognized us.

"Well, let's go have some lunch and catch up, shall we? I cooked some lasagna." Mrs. Jackson led the way to the kitchen where a delicious looking tray of lasagna was placed on the table. I was glad to see Uncle Paul again and I could tell Emma was too. The last time he had visited was when I was eleven, almost 6 years ago.
We talked and laughed and caught up with each other. Percy acted normally cracking jokes and making us laugh. By the time the meal was over, we were all well acquainted. "Thank you Mrs. Jackson for the delicious food." I told her.

She smiled and said, "It's just Sally dear."

"Sally." I repeated.

Uncle Paul cleared his throat. "Percy, would you and the girls like to go for a swim while we meet Cleo's parents?"

"Sure." Percy nodded enthusiastically.

"Would that be alright for you?" He asked us. I was about to open my mouth to decline except Bella beat me to it.

"Of course sir. Just let us go get ready. We'll meet Percy back here at 1:30." The three of us gaped at Bella. We quickly excused ourselves and waved goodbye.

"What did you do that?!" Rikki yelled and turned on Bella. "You know we can't swim!"

"It's the perfect opportunity! If he goes in the water then we can see if he grows a tail. If he doesn't, we can just stay and not swim. Ok?" Bella explained patiently.

"That's a great idea!" Emma exclaimed. "Let's go get ready."

Percy's POV

I walked out of the house to find the four girls standing outside in their bikinis. "Hey." I walked over to them.

"Is it ok if we go to our favorite spot?" Emma asked.

"Sure. Go ahead and lead the way." I told them. We walked for about ten minutes passing beaches that were crowded with people. We turned toward a smaller, less crowded beach and into a space shielded with tall boulders.

"Is this the place?" I asked and they nodded. We set our stuff down and I pulled my shirt off. I suddenly felt self conscious when all four girls stared at my six pack. I cleared my throat and they looked away blushing pink.

"Shall we swim then?" I asked wading into the waves willing myself wet so I won't reveal my demigod powers. I turned back toward the shore where Cleo and her friends were staring at me. They seemed to be counting down...

"Hey, what are you guys-" I was cut off when the water suddenly shimmered in rainbow colors around my legs. There was a slight whooshing sound and I fell backwards my legs no longer supporting me. I landed with a loud splash. I looked towards my legs to find....

A TAIL! A GIGANTIC 7 FEET LONG TAIL THAT ENDED IN A POINTY OCEAN BLUE FLUKE.

I yelled in surprise but was cut short when a hand was put over my mouth. I looked over to see Cleo. Except she wasn't exactly human. She had an orange fish tail tinted gold. She put a finger on her lips to signal silence and I nodded in understanding. She let me go. I immediately stared at my tail disbelievingly. Even though I was the son of the sea god, I hadn't been prepared to grow an actual fish tail.

The tail was a sea green color that faded to a darker ocean blue. It had little scales like an actual fish. I opened my mouth to ask Cleo a question but she shook her head. "We'll talk later." She gestured towards Emma,Rikki, and Bella who nodded and waded into the sea. 10 seconds later they were all mermaids.

"Go to Mako Island. Just follow behind us." Emma instructed a bit bossily. I nodded and watched as the four dove under the waves. I pushed myself forward and dove into the sea.

I watched as the four swam away slowly going faster and faster until only a bubbly streak of water was left behind. I grumbled to myself. Thanks for help.

I studied the tail and tried to move it up and down, up and down. I swam faster and faster, my arms pointing ahead. Soon, my tail, combined with my son of Poseidon powers propelled me ahead and past Emma, Rikki, Cleo, and Bella. I found the underwater entrance into the pool and was waiting when the girls finally popped through the entrance.
"How did you do that?" Rikki asked amazed. I shrugged.

"How about you tell me what happened?" I questioned them.

"All right. Here it goes." Bella started.

After they explained to me what happened, they stared at me as if expecting me to freak out. Truth was, I was just annoyed at the Fates. I took a vacation and then now I'm a merman because of some stupid Moon Pool? I wasn't too worried about
the getting wet thing because of my Son Of Poseidon powers. I would just get drained doing it repeatedly.

"So... Do you guy's mind telling me about your story? Then I'll tell you mine." I offered. They nodded and began again.

"It all started when we took a boat to Mako Island..." Rikki narrated.

An hour and a half later, they were done. Now here comes the hard part, telling them about demigods.

"Do you guys know anything about Greek mythology?"

Another long hour and a half later, I was done telling them about my life. It's funny how 5 years of my life only takes an hour and a half to talk about. The Mermaids were all shocked at my life. I mean, who wouldn't? And some people thought Harry Potter's life was bad.

"Aren't you going to tell Annabeth about this?" Bella asked concerned.

"Oh shist! What will she say!!" I exclaimed and in my agitation, the whole pool of water froze encasing all of us in ice.

"Did I do that?" I asked surprised. "My powers as the Son of Poseidon don't include this."

"Oh!" Cleo exclaimed. "The pool must have given you extra powers!"

"I can move my tail so you only froze the surface, thank god." Bella sighed in relief.

"Thank the gods." I corrected automatically clenching my fists on the icy surface of the water.

"Right. Rikki, can you heat the water up faster?" Cleo said.

"Ummm... Cleo? It's already melting but it's not me doing it." Rikki was right. The ice had started smoking and was slowly melting.

"Percy! You're doing it too!" Emma cried out as the water turned slowly hotter. "Stop it!"

I gasped and unclenched my fists, immediately the water stopped bubbling and returned to the normal temperature. The four girls were staring at me in shock. I had two of their powers already.

"Can you try and control the water without using your Poseidon powers?" Cleo asked cautiously.

I slowly put my palm up and raised it, tilting it slightly. A ball of water rose up. I pulled my fingers slowly into a ball and the water turned into a jelly like substance and froze into a crystal clear glass like ball. I heard the four draw in a quick breath.

"You have all of our powers! Even Bella's!" Emma exclaimed.

"Okay. I've got to contact Annabeth and the rest of the Seven."

"I can't wait to see the other demigods you told us about!" Rikki exclaimed excited.

"Alright. Let me Iris Message them."

Percy has a tail! And he's a merman! Ok, I know some of u readers may not like that but deal with it. Please no hate. I thought this would be rather interesting to write about.
