VI
Finishing our breakfast, we set out to find the sword.
"So, the center should be somewhere around here, so it's very convenient that there's a mountain here," I say. We search the base of the mountain, finding nothing so far. I begin to lose hope, and feel something against my leg. I look down to see a baby ice dragon, begging for attention. I squat down and Pat it on the head. The dragon rests its head on my knee, wanting more attention. I begin to pet the adorable creature, getting distracted from my mission. The baby dragon gives me looks of sympathy, as if it knows my struggle.
"Do you know where the sword is?" I ask it. The dragon does nothing but blink at me, unable to understand me. I sigh, realizing what this mission has come to. We've come so close and turn out to be at a dead end. The baby dragon looks past me with guilt in its eyes, and the ground shakes as a shadow casts over me.
I stand up and turn around slowly, seeing an adult ice dragon. The baby's mother looks at me, then to it's child, and back at me. It lowers it's face to me, and roars a heart stopping scream. I back away from the ice dragon and flatten myself against the wall. Isaac and Nigel soon find us.
"What did you do?" Isaac asks.
"The baby came to me and wanted attention, so I gave it attention!" I say.
The dragon screams again and the boys ready they're weapons asI push myself farther against the wall. I move backward more than I should be able to, and realize I had pushed something into the mountain. Jump forward and the piece if rock slowly moves back out. Another piece of the mountain starts to move, and the two ice dragons fly away out of fear. The mountain continues to slide, opening up a hollow cave.
