Chapter four

I sat through my math class staring out the window. I couldn't help but notice that a low fog had rolled in. Seeing that it wasn't that bad, I shrugged it off. In the background I could hear my teacher, Ms. Putnam, rambling on about conversions. I couldn't complain about her though. She was really nice and seemed determined to help every kid until they could do math perfectly. She was definitely the most optimistic, clearly stating that her favorite color was purple and that she had two cats.

I couldn't help but admire that she saw good in everything. I also couldn't help but notice that she seemed to want to help me the most, even for my other classes. One time when I was early enough to be the only kid in the room with her, I said I had given up on my health goal because I liked being on my computer too much. She thought for a moment and suggested that for every thirty minutes I exercise I get two episodes of my favorite show. It really made me like her more.

"Jacob?"

I was pulled out of my thoughts, "Hm?"

Ms. Putnam was smiling at me, "What's the conversion from two yards into feet?"

"Uh....... Six feet?" I said

She beamed, "Great job."

I gave a slight smile as she went on teaching the class.
