CHAPTER-TEN: REBIRTH

THE SWORD AND SICKLE

PART TWO

CHAPTER-TEN

REBIRTH

Watch the people as they go to and fro, for they do not know from whence they came or where they go. They walk with darkness in their heart and see only the path before them. Do not be like the woman who goes to the well for water and returns with an empty pail. Frantically, she examines her pail and cannot see where the water leaked. Returning to the well, she finds it is dry. If you have ears, listen to the words of the Lord. She could not see, for in her heart is darkness; she could not fill the emptiness, for her soul is heavy with the pain of life. Instead of walking in darkness, release your burden by opening the shutters to your soul. Then light will lift the saddle, which weighs heavily on your soul, and you will find your pail filled with living water. Unless people are reborn with water from the river of life, they cannot dwell in the City of God.

The Voice of Prophecy: Chapter 13, verses 1-4. Levi Jackson

―――――

General Abrams strode into the secret lab at Area 51, his confidence and determinated. "Good to be back," he murmured, reflecting on his rise since Project 666 began showing promise. Promoted to three-star general in 1987, Abrams had swiftly set Six-Six-Six on the path to leading the 666 psyops team. By 1988, he had earned his fourth star, and by 1991, he was appointed Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces under former President Hammett. Each month, reports from General Henry Steel tracked steady progress, yet the project remained unprepared to confront Levi, the formidable leader of the Sons and Daughters of Levi—at least, not yet.

General Steel's secretary walked into his office and said, "I thought you should know, sir. General Abrams is in the lab. What do you want me to do, sir?"

Steel responded, "Damn it. He's a day early. I wasn't expecting him until tomorrow afternoon. Do nothing, Captain. I will meet him and head him off." Henry quickened his pace. They were not ready for his visit, and Victor did not want to meet with the General. Steel had hoped to convince Victor to meet with General Abrams, because he had not reported to the General their plans, he hoped it would be unnecessary. They felt it unwise for him to see them while they prepared to regenerate. He and Six felt they must have privacy as they communicated with their father. They could be the answer to the Levi problem, but they also could lose control of the project, and the two would become rogue, and more of a threat than Levi. They had never attempted to contact Beelzebub since they had come to them. This had been something totally unexpected to deal with. He had not even assessed the risks involved, but what he had surmised was that it was a precarious situation. They still had a way to terminate the project. As children, they had implanted a small explosive device inside their brains. He did not want to end their lives, but he would, if it became necessary.

"General Abrams, sir. I didn't expect you until tomorrow."

"Yes, I know. Perhaps you haven't read your email. Levi has escaped."

"Sir, how is that possible?" No one has ever escaped from there."

"They did. They just vanished before their eyes. I suspect that we never had them and that they were just toying with us, for some unknown agenda. We may have to use project 666 earlier than I imagined."

"About that, sir. They do not wish to meet with you. I've tried to convince them to go ahead and see you, but I have failed."

"What the hell is going on, Steel! These are my children, and by God, they will see me, whether or not they want to. Do you understand me?"

"Yes, sir. I will try."

"You will try? Who is in control of this project, them or you?"
