CHAPTER-FIVE

DEBRIEFING

At the end of time, it will be that great nations will clamor among themselves about how they must protect their power. And it will be that the great leader of the great nation will fall, and in his wake, chaos will prevail. And nations will war against nations and the anger of the Lord will be released upon them and many will die in the name of Gog and Magog. This is just the first of what is to befall the earth as there will be peace for several years before the coming of the Lord, creator of all. And on that terrible day, many will flee their countries for safety, but they will falter, fall and die because they are deemed as worthless. He will slay all leaders of false religions and their followers. And he will bless all those who seek him, whether Christian or Jew, Islamic or Hindu, Buddhist or Taoist, anyone who seek the Lord, with all their hearts, will find salvation in their second life. If you have eyes, shut them so that you might see with your mind's eye.

Former President Wright in all his political life had never dealt with a situation like this. He and his wife had always gone to church as they found it was a good political practice for politicians in the Bible belt. Still, he did not feel that the message came from God. Religion to him was a way for society to keep from annihilating each other, and away religious people often tried to make themselves better citizens. Still, history had shown that wars between nations and tribes had some religious elements. He did not fully buy that religious differences caused wars. He found that human greed and pride unusually motivated the aggressors. In this crisis, he feels they must be dealing with an alien force that comes to use our own religious beliefs to make us docile and easy to defeat, like lambs for slaughter. No mental messages had been received since the early morning hours and for some reason none of their inter-dimensional guides had made themselves available. Maybe this type of threat was a threat to their psyche and they should be more concerned with the human threat. Nonetheless, he and the President had to make a public announcement to give their cover story about the object orbiting Jupiter. The early morning showed in the United States showed only a few demonstrations from the SDL proclaiming the end of the world that were mostly ignored. Other protests in Europe caused some looting and some violence, but the authorities had handled it very well. The rest of the world was waiting for the United States to take the lead, a leadership role that was restored by President Hammett after the flawed Drumpf administration. Jim knocked on the door to the Oval Office and entered.

President Hammett turned to see his Advisor, James Wright, make his entrance and Hammett said, "I assume you have the cover story for us to go over."

"Yes Mr. President" and he slapped down a fifty-page document. "I also have the threat assessment from Homeland Land Security and the FBI," he slapped down two more two hundred paged documents.

"Shall we get to work my friend? We work on the cover story first, and then we'll go through the threat assessment when I have debriefed Levi. I assume Levi is settled in by now?"

"I assume he is, Mr. President. The cover story basically states to the public that we are aware of the strange object which has entered and is captured by the Jovian gravitational system, and seems to pose no threat to the earth. Further, it states that we have changed the orbit of Cassini-2 to position it to take a closer look at the object and will take high resolution photos in three days; we will answer a few questions and then leave."

"What will we say if they bring up the message?"

"We plainly state, with your approval, that we do not have any correlation between the object and the message. This is a matter of mass hysteria caused by the Sons and Daughter of Levi's fervor. All other questions will be answered with calming words and that we have everything under control."

"I approve, and let's pray we have this situation in control. Levi and his wife are waiting for me to debrief him. I will brief you after our speeches this afternoon. Good day, Jim."

"Mr. President, may I ask you one question?"

"Fire."

"Who will interview Levi with you?"

"I am going to do this alone. I do not want to put Levi on edge. Do you know that when we came to his house, he and his wife, and daughter had already packed, and they were waiting for us to arrive, very spooky if you ask me. I just hope we aren't up against more than we can handle."

"Do you mean Levi and his family, or that thing in space?"

"Yes, good day."

With those words, Jim left the office to go prepare the speech at the news conference. As he walked, he too became spooked about Levi, how had he known that they were coming to get him? He was certain there had been no leaks and only a handful of people knew about this, and none of them was a known SDL member. However, if that was not the answer then the other answer was even more worrisome.

Hammett walked with a swift pace to the debriefing room where Levi and his wife, Venus, had been waiting for about thirty minutes. They had decided to leave the child Ariel in the hotel room, with an FBI nanny. They felt she would be of little importance to them, but as his wife, she might be vital in helping them to persuade Levi to cooperate. When he reached the room, he greeted the guard and opened the door to see two very calm individuals waiting for him. He had never met two people so calm meet the President of the United States for the first time. Surely, they knew something, perhaps a lot more than he thought. He walked over to the long table and sat directly across from them. "Levi, I am glad to meet you and Venus," and he reached across the table to shake their hands.
