To save or be saved
During my ride on the wings of dreams, my sleep was disturbed by soft screams. Covering my ears I hoped for them to go away, but to my displeasure they only got worse. My eyes snapped open when I realized how real they were.
Grabbing my small daggers and sword, I swung open the door and my eyes met the full extent of the damage. Everything we had worked for so long was getting destroyed. Noticing some people attacking, I concentrated on saving those who couldn't protect themselves.
Gathering children and woman I send them towards my hut which was easily ignored since it was slightly hidden and out of sight. Sending two men for added protection I decided to be on defensive.
Dodging the sword, which was skillfully aimed to kill, I broke his nose and rendered him unconscious. Blocking another attack , I threw my dagger which sunk into his stomach. Slitting the throat of another I realized that I didn't feel an ounce of regret, just like when back then I fought with Vampires.
I growled in frustration as I realized another thing. None of them had died rather they healed from the gained wounds and then continued where they left off.
Which meant they were not human.
Suddenly I was kicked in the stomach and I hit the ground as all air left me. Looking up I saw as my attacker was about to do some more damage. Clenching my eyes i thought my time had come when a loud yet authoritative voice told everyone to stop.
Blinking I opened my eyes to see my attacker stepping a little away from me but kept his sword aimed at me. Moving my head in the direction he was looking , I felt like I was about pass out.
"You!!" I yelled, my voice piercing the silence as his eyes snapped in my direction, when previously they were searching for something. A smirk graced his features as we both studied each other.
Slightly muscled frame, short red hair, aristocratic features , a perfect straight nose, high cheek bones and thin lips. Yet the most eye catching feature were his eyes. Where mine were emerald his were Amber colored.
"Like what you see?" He said, his voice confident and without an ounce of regret for attacking innocents.
"Why are you here?" I inquired as everyone was content to stay out of this whole situation. Cowards.
"Searching for you of course. Why else?"
"Me? What did I do?" I frowned. This wasn't going in a good direction.
He remained silent, studying me with those amber eyes of his, not betraying a single thought. After a while my eyebrows twitched in irritation. I jumped a little as his voice once again pierced the silence.
"Kill everyone else. We are done here." He said as he arrived before me in quick strides and taking my arm started dragging me behind him. His iron grip wasn't allowing me any movements as I desperately tried to get away from him and try and save the others.
"Why are you doing this?" My voice shook a little at the end.
"I want you." He said simply, like it justified him killing the villagers.
"Why? And if you want me then why kill the others?" I started after taking a calm breath.
He remained quite, still dragging me behind him.
"Why don't we have a deal?" I tried once again. " I'll go with you without any struggle and you let the others go."
Suddenly we stopped and he rounded on me. Grabbing my shoulders, he looked in my eyes. "And what will I gain from this?" He asked.
"Uhh... I won't try to kill you while you're sleep?" I tried.
We continued looking in each others eyes, me quite nervous and him well I don't really know what he was thinking.
"Fine." He said. Grabbing my hand he dragged me back to the small village that by now had become a battle field.
"Halt!" I winced at his loud voice. "There is a change in the plan. Let them live."
Let them live but no don't harm them.
"You agreed to let them go." I said feeling like I'll suffer a panic attack. Leaning against the tree he pulled me beside him by my still grabbed hand.
"You didn't say anything about not harming them." He looked calm like people were not being harmed around us as he studied my hand.
"Pl-please don't harm them." I begged with tears swimming in my eyes. These were the people that I had come to regard like family. I couldn't bear to see getting hurt because of me and that was the only reason that i had resort to begging.
He raised his hands to wipe the tears that had escaped my eyes to which I flinched. Tightening the grip on my hand he tried again and I let him though I kept my eyes tightly shut.
"Fine." He said after a while and my heart calmed a little at his words.
