Chapter 8: Just because you're cute doesn't mean I like your favorite people.

"No!" I yelled, "Travis let me out!"

"I will only let you out once you're done with that." He replied.

"That's not fair! I'm 18 already, I'm too old to be grounded!" I complained.

"And you're also too old to be doing immature things such as cutting classes." He replied as I heard his footsteps go away.

I huffed and glared at the pastel door in front of me.

"All I did was cut class!" I yelled.

Oh. Now that it came out of my mouth, it does sound like an immature thing only a fifteen-year-old would do.

I heard something being thrown to the door and it made a little squak!

"Was that my rubber ducky?!" I exclaimed as I tried turning the doorknob.

"Yes!"

"Mr. Rubby!"

"Did you seriously name it Rubby? What does that even stand for?" He asked in disbelief.

"It's short for rubber! 'Cause, you know, he's rubber." I replied.

He opened the door, "I wanna see your annoying face again. You're officially ungrounded."

"You beat the record! I got stuck in this room for thirty minutes!" I praised, "Last time you could only tolerate eight minutes without me."

"I'm overprotective, and very obsessive." He replied, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it to sound weird. I mean it in a sibling way, not a romantic way."

"You saying way two times times just makes my mind drift off to memes." I told him.

He gasped, "You know the way?"

"Yes, I know the way." I said with a smirk.

He laughed and ruffled my hair, "Wanna go to the park?"

"Sure." I replied.

"Okay, get dressed." He told me and when I was about to protest, he added, "Properly."

What was wrong with a Stitch onesie? I mean, my unicorn onesie hasn't been washed yet so what does he expect me to wear?

I sighed as I lazily dragged myself to my closet and grabbed an oversized grey t-shirt and blue ripped jeans.

I went over to my mirror and tied my hair into a messy bun.

I stopped mid-way down the stairs when I got a full-view of Travis and a couple I don't know talking.

"Travis, we just want to see her." The woman said.

"Please, just leave. She doesn't need to see you." Travis replied, "Plus, you'll just take her away... again."

Were they talking about me?

"Travis. Listen to us. We are your pa-"

I slowly went back up the stairs and yelled, "Travis! Can you ready lots of food? Make sure to add ice cream!"

Just a sign that he needs to stop talking to them 'cause I'm ready.

But I'm not ready to see who they are.

Or who I think they are.

"Sure, Yana!" He yelled back, "I already did!"

I went closer to the railings, making sure to hide myself in one of the desks leaning against it to hear better.

"Looks like you and your sister are fine here." A male voice said.

"We're more than fine." Travis replied.

The woman said, "I just want to see her at least one more time."

"You had plenty of time before. If you didn't..." Travis cleared his throat, "You guys should leave. She might be coming down any minute now."

I peeked a bit and saw them hugging Travis.

"We love you, sweetie. We'll visit soon." The woman told him.

"Love you too. Bye."He said in a dull tone and they left, slamming the door shut.

I started walking down the stairs, acting cool when inside I'm actually shocked and surprised.

"Who was that?" I asked casually.

"Oh, I thought someone knocked but when I checked it was no one." He replied.

"It was probably me, I hit my elbow twice on the desk in front of my room a while ago." I said.

"I should probably move that." He said and handed me a small bag, "Here, your ice cream's inside. Better hurry up before it melts."

"What's the fla-"

"Cookies & Cream, your favorite." He replied.

"I love you so much!" I said as I jumped on his back when he was about to walk away.

"Woah! Since when did you gain weight?" He asked with a slight chuckle.

I giggled in response, "Take me to my ship, peasant."

"It's my ship." He corrected as he opened the door, struggling a bit as he was still handling my weight.

"Right, take us to our ship!" I announced loudly, making our neighbor's seven-year-old kid look playing in their porch stare at us.

"Hi Travz!" He greeted.

"Hey there Tristan." He greeted back.

"Hi Dayana." He said shyly with a small wave.

I heard from Mrs. Swann that the little kid has a crush on me.

"Hey there buddy!" I said as Travis put me down to get the car.

While he was at it, I approached the other house and started to talk with Tristan.

"So what're you doing?" I asked him as I stared at the Spider-man and Iron Man action figures sitting in little toy cars that the toys could barely fit in.

"Just playing with Iron and Spider..." he grumbled quietly as he awkwardly pushed the car with Iron Man in it.

He's so adorable!

"Where's your mom, Tan-Tan?" I asked him.

He smiled broadly at the sound of his nickname, showing one of his missing tooth.

"She's not at home so she left me with a babysitter!" He said rather proudly.

"Oh? You seem happy to talk about a babysitter." I told him, smiling back at him.

"Uh-huh! It's because he's my number four favorite person in the world!" He said as he stretched his arms out to give emphasis.

Aw! He doesn't know the word fourth!

Why the heck am I finding that adorable?

Oh wait, did he say "he"? Well, let's just ignore that.

"Who's the first?"

"Mommy!" He replied as he took out the action figures off the cars.

"The second?"

"Papa!" He said as he jumped up, nearly falling down the stairs in their porch but I managed to catch him before that happened.

"How about the third?" I asked as I carried him with his stomach flat on my hands, as if he's flying.

And he was stretching his right arm out like Superman.

"You're my number three favorite, Dayana!" He replied as I twirled around and put him down.

"Aw! Well, you're my first favorite person." I said as I knelt down to his height.

He shyly looked down.

"What's the name of your number four favorite person?" I asked him.

"Blamder." He mumbled, not loud enough for it to be clear.

"What? I can't hear you buddy." I told him.

"I said-"

"Tristan! Time to get inside!" A familiar male voice suddenly yelled.

"That's him!" He said as he pointed towards their front door.

And there stood Blamder.

Also known as Xander.

"I... I'll be going now buddy. I'll see you later, 'kay?" I told him as I ruffled his dirty blonde hair.

"Bye Dayana!"

I heard Xander call out my name but I wasn't sure if that was just my imagination as I went back to our front lawn.

As if Travis sensed I was there, he honked.

Oh, he was already parked.

"Let's go, sis!"

Yes! I am ALIVE!!!! A special shoutout to a very special person... SweetAdmirer12 I love this girl so much that no words can decribe how much I do✨💓♥️

You're short, you're pretty, you're smart, and you're cute. But most of all, you're my friend. Thanks for everything💓💓
