"I don't know. I just—" I licked my lips, trying to think of an emotion that could convey what I felt.

"You just what?" Kylie asked for the umpteenth time because of the umpteen times I've repeated my sentence that I can't finish.

"It's his eyes. Have you seen his eyes? They make the stars—"

"—look like they're not shining, her hair falls perfectly without her trying?" She continued in a monotone voice, flipping another page of her book.

I glared at her, "No, they make the stars ashamed to even exist."

She gave me a ghost of a smile before going back to her book.

"You're barely listening to me. What are you reading anyway?" I asked.

"Will Grayson, Will Grayson." She replied.

"What's the story?"

"I just started reading, but it's about two guys both named Will Grayson, I think?" She replied.

I nodded, my mind wandering back to his eyes.

"Have you ever been in a relationship, Kylie?" I asked.

She coughed loudly, closing the book and turning back to me.

"I did... but I've only dated three guys in my twenty years of existence. One of them I don't even know if I actually dated." She replied.

"Can you tell me about them?"

"Well," She coughed, "the first was back in high school. Just another victim of the usual player. Still, I dated him the longest out of all the girls he's dated before."

"How long?"

"About two months."

She glared at me when I coughed, trying to hide my laugh.

"Anyways, your second?"

"We lasted about a year." Kylie replied, "You know him, actually."

"Really? Who?"

"Adi."

"Wait, what? Really?" I asked.

"Yeah, we kinda hid it from everyone."

"Why?"

She smiled, "Adi was still timid back then. He didn't need everyone to know that he was dating the best friend of the ace."

"Timid?" I asked, "That cocky asshole?"

"Yeah, believe it or not. After we broke up, he focused more on training and he just became this cocky goof."

I nodded, my mouth forming an 'o' shape.

"Also, you trained him so his sarcasm is your fault." She added.

I chuckled lightly, asking her who was the other one.

She pursed her lips, "Promise not to look at me any different?"

"Of course." I replied.

"Well, he was actually cheating on his girlfriend with me." She blurted out.

I blinked, "Really?"

"Yeah... I mean, technically he and his girlfriend didn't break up." She said.

"What? What do you mean they technically didn't break up?"

"Would it count if his girlfriend went into a coma for at least a year and wakes up with amnesia?"

All the color on her face drained as a wave of realization hit her.

"Xander... cheated on me, with you, too?"

I pursed my lips, "I was his first fling. We only lasted two weeks, Dayana. You still meant the world to him even if—"

"Xander cheated. That's all, but he didn't know I was alive so it's..." She let out a sigh, "What am I talking about? Nothing in this situation is fine."

I chewed my bottom lip, wanting to go back in time and stop everything.

"I wasn't supposed to be in a gang when I was, what, twelve? I wasn't supposed to be living a lifestyle like that. I wasn't supposed to be in a car accident. I wasn't supposed to be kidnapped." She said, looking at the ground.

"Dayana, I—"

"You said that people join this gang from an orphanage..." She muttered, "Does that mean that I didn't have a family before? Who's Travis then?"

"Please don't cry, Ana..." I said softly.

She looked back up at me, smiling tentatively, "I'm not."

"Liar."

"I mean, it hurts, but who am I to be mad, right? I was the one who forgot about us."

"Dayana..."

"Kylie."

"I'm really sorry."

She smiled at me, "Not your fault."

"My fault."

"Everyone's fault."

I looked at her sadly, "Not yours."

"It's always not mine."

With that, she stood up and left.

The door closed behind her, leaving me staring at the wall.

The door creaked open in a haste, revealing Dayana pursing her lips.

"I haven't taken a shower yet and I don't wanna go to Leon like this." She muttered sheepishly.

She quickly took some clothes and showered for at least ten minutes.

She left once she was done and change, telling me that she'll be at Leon's office.

I sighed once more after she was gone, pulling out my phone.

To: Adi

I fucked up.

From: Adi

What happened?

To: Adi

I told Dayana about Xander and me.

From: Adi

Meet in the garden?

To: Adi

I got up and quickly went to the indoor garden of our building.

When I arrived, Adi was already there.

"Hey." I greeted as I sat down on one of the benches.

He gave me a small smile, acknowledging my presence.

"I've been here for at least two hours now." He told me.

"Why?"

"One of our captives; he was begging me to let him out. Begging me, telling me that he wanted to see his brother one last time." He explained, "I tried talking to Leon, but he just told me that I need to remember what he did. All the captive did was step on Olivine's drive. He probably didn't mean it."

"Oh, him. He had the mark of Jewel gang though."

"Yeah, but he kept telling me about his brother. I just felt bad, you know."

I nodded, looking at the flower being illuminated by the sunlight.

My eyes trailed to the floor to ceiling glass windows.

"I'm so glad this garden exists. It reminds me that even though our life is as chaotic as it looks, there will always be this garden. There will always be tranquility in our life." He thought out loud.

Leon had this indoor garden made when Dayana disappeared, and it just became a place to relieve the stress of everyone, no matter how little or how huge their problems are.

"But then flowers wilt." I told him.

"News ones grow."

I stared at him, peacefully leaning back against the bench, his messy hair  covering most of his eyes.

He was so stressed that he didn't even bother slicking back his hair as he always does.

"New flowers will still wilt."

"And new flowers will still grow."

I smiled at his response.

Oh my, an update? Hehe, sorry for being inactive. School has been a huge hassle but I swear I'm happiest when I'm in school.
