Chapter 15: How siblings think

I smiled lightly at Oliver.

"What's with that-that smile?" He stuttered.

"I don't know. It's just kinda funny how you're so protective over me," I replied.

"That's just the way I am." He told me with a shrug.

"You don't seem like it." I said and closed my eyes, feeling a bit dizzy.

"Are you-are you okay?" He asked me.

"Yeah, just a bit dizzy." I replied.

"Oh." He simply said, looking down.

"Can you—" I bit my tongue, "Nevermind."

"What?" He asked.

"Nevermind." I said.

"Just tell me." He pleaded.

"Uhm... Well, can you get me something to drink? I'm kinda thirsty." I replied.

"That's all?" He asked, "Aren't you hungry?"

"No. I just want water but..." I rubbed the back of my neck sheepishly.

"Yeah?" He replied.

"I only drink in... blue cups." I mumbled the last part.

"What?" He asked, "I couldn't hear what you said."

I looked down in embarrassment, "I refuse to drink water that is presented in anything else rather than a plastic cylindrical object used in carrying liquid in which its color is blue."

"You... only drink in blue cups?" Oliver bit his lip, stifling a laugh.

"Just forget I even requested you anything." I told him.

"No, no." He replied, grinning down at me, "You're our guest, whatever you need shall be given. I'll check if we have blue cups though."

"Is it too much to ask if I had a specific kind of blue?" I sheepishly asked.

He laughed, "Of course not, babe. What kind of blue do you need?"

My face heated up at the nickname, "A-aqua blue..."

"As you wish." He said and exited the room.

Now, I'm regretting it.

I'm all alone in a hospital-like room, in the dark, with no one to run to.

I patted my pockets to check for a certain device.

"It's here!" I victoriously announced.

My face drained as I realized that it was dead.

I groaned in frustration, "Why did I spend so much time on Wattpad?!"

I looked at the wall-clock.

12:34

Where the heck are the other people here?

"Oliver! Please hurry up!" I yelled, hoping he heard it.

No response.

I sighed and stared at the ceiling, lightly humming to myself.

Soon enough, I dozed off.

"Can you... please explain everything? How did I get amnesia? How close were we? Did I have any friends before? Are they aware of my condition?" I ranted.

Travis stared at me for a moment before replying, "All I can say is that we only got to spend time with each other until you were eleven because... uhm, dad's sibling from the Philippines took you to study there. I refused to go. Before that, we were really close, though. I forgot your other questions."

"How did I get amnesia?" I asked him again.

"Well, you had recently gone back from the Philippines and you were on the way from the airport to here until you got in a car accident." He coughed slightly, showing discomfort.

"I suppose you don't know about my friends, since they must be from the Philippines..." I mumbled.

"Precisely." He replied, but it sounded almost like a mix of relief and guilt.

I brushed it off and asked another question that was lingering in my mind for a while now.

"Where are... our parents?" I asked.

"They're currently in a business trip," He quickly replied, "and I live alone here. Mom and dad don't visit often though."

"Do they know—"

He coughed, "Of course they do!"

"Am I being annoying?" I consciously asked, "I can stop—"

"No, no. I just overreacted." He replied, "Do you have any other questions?"

"Do we have other siblings?" I asked.

He seemed to relax a bit with my question, "Nope, just you and me."

"What was I like? Within the small amount of time we were together, what was my personality like?"

"Well, you're basically a plushie that needs all of the attention I could give. But at the same time, you're feisty and you don't like being scolded. You like to do things your way, the Dayana way. Another thing to note is that you love to give nicknames. Absolutely adore it." He replied.

"I sound... childish." I said.

"Well, it's true, but you're really smart and know how to think ahead. You're a great planner and almost all your plans succeed. Except in hide and seek, you suck at it."

"Was it necessary to include the last part?" I asked in exasperation.

He replied with a laugh.

My eyes fluttered open and a yawn escaped my mouth.

I looked over to my side to see a dozing Oliver.

"I swear you sleep when I do." I mumbled, even though I know he won't hear me.

I looked over at the small table next to me to see an aqua blue cup.

My eyes brightened up at the sight and I moved to get it but someone grabbed my wrist.

I snapped my head to the owner of the hand to see Oliver half-asleep.

"Wha- let go!" I yelled.

He woke up fully and let go of me, rubbing his eyes.

"I thought something was trying to hurt you." He murmured.

I rolled my eyes and took my blue cup, drinking it.

Wonder what Travis is doing right now...

-

"Hi! This is Dayana and I am currently unavailable. You know the drill."

I was sick of it, sick of hearing that message then sending me straight to voice mail.

"Dayana... I swear to God if I do not hear a reply from you within the next 24 hours I won't think twice about doing something irrational." I growled.

I contacted the police, talked to everyone in the park, even the security guards but hell, he just thought for a moment before shaking his head and walked away.

That guard seemed off.

I already lost my sister once, I won't lose her again.

We're siblings, we're family.

I miss her.

An update?! Really?! Well, yeah, for my amazing crazies who managed to get SASCAH at 99.4k reads, whaaaaat?! I adore all of you! Love you guys!

Anyone got an idea on how I can develop Travis' persona? I can't really think of a good trait for him. He's one of my favorite characters but for some reason I can't choose the best attitude. Any ideas?

Anyways, I've recently found out that I'm infatuated to a person, and it gave a lot of motivation to write this. But I don't like this feeling ;-; help?
