This is in Vanessa's point of view. Enjoy :)

"You think he's a good guy? That can't be right, he's probably gay," I say. "Just because he doesn't want to sleep with you, doesn't mean he's gay. It could just mean he has good morals, no offense," Molly says.

"None taken. I know that I shouldn't be sleeping around, but it's just who I am," I admit. That only happened after I caught Adam cheating on me with a redheaded idiot he picked up from the club one night.

"You should talk to him. You should try and get out of sleeping around. You don't want to risk getting a disease or something," she reasons. "But that's what condoms are for!" I whine.

"Think about it. You have his number, right?" she asks. "Yeah," I mutter, digging around in my purse, looking for it. "Just talk to him. You'll be much happier with one person for the rest of your life," Molly suggests.

"How would you know?" I ask. "Stories," she sighs. "Like in fairy tales and cliché stories?" I ask. "No. Families. They built a life with each other. Hey, listen, I need to go. Calvin Kl–I mean, Chase just came back. Bye Ven!" she chirps.

"Alright. Love you, bye," I mutter a quick goodbye before ending the call. I stare at the piece of paper in my hand, rubbing my thumb lightly over the pencil marks.

I take a deep breath, and tap the numbers into my phone. I hold the phone up to my ear, and listen to the repetitive ringing. There's a faint clicking noise, and I perk up. I don't hear anyone in the other line, so I start off.

"Hello?" I ask. "Vanessa?" Leo asks. "Um, yeah, hi," I mumble. Leo lets out a sigh. "Please don't try to convince me to get into your pants. I'm not in the mood for it. It's been a really long day," he says.

I consider saying, "I could make it better," but stop myself. "I...wasn't," I say. "Really?" he sounds surprised. "Yeah. I was just wondering if we could talk some time?" I ask, nervously playing with my fingers.

It's silent, the only sound I could hear from the other line is his faint, shallow breaths. "This isn't some sort of trick is it?" he asks. "No. I just want to talk a little bit," I say. "About?" he asks.

"Anything. I think I want to get to know you better," I say, and immediately take in a sharp breath. No! You don't believe in love, remember? He just like every other guy in the world. Just like Adam.

"Okay. What do you want to know?" he asks. "Birthday, favorites, family, et cetera," I chime, before I have time to process what I'm saying.

"Okay. My birthday is on May 7. My full name is Leo Michael Feran. My favorite color is orange. I play the piano, and the trumpet. I'm in school right now to be a music teacher. I'm twenty six years old, and my favorite food is spaghetti. I really like to ski, and play pool," he says.

"I guess I should tell you about myself. My full name is Venessa Camila Gonzales. My favorite color is light pink. I really like to goof off and have a good time. I am twenty five years old. My favorite food is cannoli. I'm not in school, but I want to be a chef. Turns out I can cook," I say.

"That's cool. I like to cook, too. That doesn't mean I'm good at it, though," he says. "That's cool," I say. It's silent, but he finally speaks again. "Why are you calling? Really?" he asks. I let out a sigh.

"My friend told me I should call you. She said you have good morals," I say, running a hand over my face. He chuckles. "Just because I didn't want to sleep with you doesn't mean I have good morals," he says.

"Then why else wouldn't you want to sleep with me. I'm hot," I say. He lets out a bark of laughter. "I have my reasons. I will admit, though, you are hot," he says. "Aw! Aren't you just sweet," I gush, he laughs.

"So what are your reasons?" I ask, curious. Leo starts to cough really loudly into the phone. "Um? Are you choking or something? Please don't tell me you were eating Play-Doe," I say, frantically.

When he finally sobers down, he doesn't says anything. "Are you there?" I ask. "Uh, yeah. I'm here," he says.

"So. What are your reasons?" I ask. That question sends him into another fit of coughing. "Okay, stop. I know the whole 'choking on Play-Doe' thing is fake," I say.

He instantly stops coughing. "How'd you know the coughs were fake?" he asks. "Because your coughing sounds like an automatic door closing, now answer the question," I say.

"That can't be possible. They sound like this: whoom pft!" he says. "Just answer the question," I say. He lets out a long sigh.

"Because I've hurt someone before. I've cheated on my ex-wife. Many times. I vowed to never sleep with anyone ever again. Unless of course, I get married, so I won't hurt anyone, and not sleep with anyone but my wife," he says.

"I'm so sorry," I say. "It's fine." he sighs. "It was my own stupid, twenty-year-old self." "You're not stupid. I have an ex-husband. He cheated on me. I didn't really feel that bad, because I knew guys are—and always will be—like that," I say.

"If I had a chance again, I would take it. Not all guys are like that," he adds. "Enlighten me," I say.

"Well, let me take you on a date, and I'll prove that all guys aren't just trying to get between your legs," he says. "You proved that when you didn't want to sleep with me. But okay," I say.

Am I ready to put myself out there, and risk a broken heart?

Hell no.

"Really? Okay. Does next Saturday work for you? At seven pm?" he asks. I nod my head, but remember I'm on the phone.

"I just nodded," I say. He laughs. "Okay, just text me directions to your house that day," he says. "Alright, bye," I say, and end the call.

I know it was rude to hang up, but I really need to think. What had I just gotten myself into?

Seven months later:

"Hey Moly poly [Mole-y pole-y]," I say, linking arms with Molly. "Did you just call me Moly, as in, a mole?" she asks, pulling her arm back.

"Yup," I nod. She visible shudders. "Why would you call me that?" she asks. "It seemed cool at the time," I shrug, and smile sheepishly at her.

She rolls her eyes at me and smiles. "Where are they at?" I ask, standing on my tiptoes, looking around. Molly and I's guys are supposed to meet us at park. They said they have a surprise for us.

"They said the center of the park, but I think we're on the outskirts," she points out. "You're right. Let's go," I say, and tug at her arm.

We go to the center of the park, and see something glowing faintly in the dark night. As I approach, I see it's a candle. Not to far up ahead is another.

"I think we're supposed to follow them," I say. "Really? I was going to use them to burn down that bench over there," she says, pointing at something in the distance. I roll my eyes at her, and grin.

We start to walk to where the candles lead. After walking for a bit, it begins to lead into a road in the woods. "What do you think they're planning?" I ask.

"I'm not sure. Maybe they want us to help them burn down the forest," Molly says. "What is it with you burning things today," I ask, and walk in the direction of a candle. "I burnt my hand on the stove today," she shrugs. I giggle softly into my hand.

"I'm hungry," I mumble. "Me too," she says. I walk up to a candle, and see that it's the last one.

Right beside it is a small note. I pick it up and unfold it. On it, it reads in printed lettering:

Turn the corner.

~C.K.
~L.F.

I show Molly the card, and she nods her head. Holding my breath, I round the bend in the road slowly.

What I see next almost makes me faint. There's a small pond, and surrounded by it are multiple glowing lights. Some of the lights are even in the water and trees.

Standing at the side of the pond is Chase, Molly's husband, and Leo, my boyfriend. They are both dressed in sharp black suits that makes them look like agents.

I marvel over the lights, and wonder how they managed to find such a place. Chase and Leo walk forward, stopping in front of us.

They both bend down on one knee, Leo in front of me, and Chase on front of Molly. My eyes widen.

"I know that we've already been married based on a contract, but I want it to be real. I don't want to be married to you, just so you a can have my kid. I want to be married to you, because I really love you Molly, and I think you're a great person. I've realized that I can't live without you. You mean everything to me, and I realize that you are so much different from Beverly. The way you smile, the way you laugh, how you make me feel. So, Molly, will you marry me again? For real this time?" Chase asks, pulling a velvet box from his pocket, and opening it to reveal a beautiful diamond ring.

Molly covers her mouth with her hand as she stumbles back. She starts to cry uncontrollably.

"I fucking swear to God if you are joking, I will beat the living shit out of you," she says through her tears. "Molly, will you be with me for the rest of my life?" he asks, holding up the ring. She runs forward, and wraps him into a large hug.

"Yes, fucking yes!" she gasps as she buries her face into his shoulders. I wipe the tears from my eyes as I start to grin from ear-to-ear. Leo's voice brings my attention back to him.

"I know I suck at these types of things, but after the last five months, I really got to know you. Venessa, you're an amazing person, and I love you a lot. I want to be the one to comfort you when you're upset. I want to spend long om hours, just talking about anything and anything with you. I want to listen to you rant about little things that you say aren't a big deal, but I know they really are. I just wanted to know, will you spend the rest if your life with me as my wife?" he asks, pulling a velvet box from his coat pocket, and opening it. Inside is the most beautiful wedding ring I have ever seen.

I drop to my knees as I stare at him blankly. A lump forms in my throat. Despite my expression, my mind is racing. "Yes," I whisper. I throw myself at him into a passionate kiss.

Molly starts screaming her head off. Tears fall down my face, and they're brushed away. I stand to my feet, as does Leo. "We're getting married! This is fucking unbelievable!" Molly screams in my ear.

I give her a large hug, and we start jumping up and down, screaming our heads off. I finally found my true love.
